Fantasmic: FP or Dining Package?

Is FP for Fantasmic actually worth it now? Good seats? What time would I have to arrive? I have an ADR for H&V Fantasmic Package now, but I hear the food isn't great and we are only doing a half day at HS (with a 2 year old, so there's not a ton I want to do there) so I''m thinking dinner might take up too much time or interfere with shows. Plus I already have too many ADRs!

I'm not concerned with "wasting" a FP on it, I will make my other 2 FPs for TSMM and Tower of Terror. Not interested in R and R.




On my arrival day, my flight lands at 1, I'm hoping to leave the hotel for HS by 3. Catch the 4 pm Disney Jr show, H & V (if we keep it) at 5. VOTLM 6:25. TSMM FP at 6:30-7:30, would ride it right after Mermaid, like 7-7:30. FP for TOT 7:30-8:30, but would only ride it if we can get on 730-8. Line up for Fantasmic at 8...Would this maybe work. We are flexible...

Fantasmic is a Tier 1 Fp+ so you wouldn't be able to choose it as one of your initial three. You can try for it as your 4th Fp+.

If you are willing to go in an hour before showtime, you can go in as Standby. Standby fills in the right side of the amphitheater; Fp+ fills in the left side and Dining is in the two sections in the center. With Fp+, you can arrive about 45 minutes before showtime and still get more central seating instead of far off to the left edge.

It should still be available for your 4th Fp+, or, plan on the 2nd Fant if there is one.

The day after Pres' Day, Fant was still available at noon. A few days later, it was still available at 4:00 - we had to get "day of" Fp+. With thousands of seats available just in the Fp+ area, you should be able to get it as your 4th.

ToT is Tier 2 so you will be fine.

We did the package with Mama Melrose. There was too much food and the food was good. You get a good seating area and only need to show up 30 minutes in advance.

This is what we do too. My daughter LOVES Mama Melrose so it works out perfectly for us. I booked a 3pm meal for September with the Fantasmic! package

I'm also debating between H&V lunch (Disney Jr characters) and the Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose. With the ages of my DDs I'd probably do better with the H&V lunch, and then just try for a 4th FP+ for F! if we decide we want to see it. But the food at Mama Melrose sounds much better to me. I have both booked right now so I need to make a decision at some point!

Big thumbs up for Brown Derby package. The meal was so great,the vouchers were almost like an afterthought!
