Fantasmic! First or Second showing?

I was checking on the official Disney website under the Hollywood Studios park hours and noticed there are now TWO showings of Fantasmic on the night we plan to see it. I can only assume this is because they predict the park to be busier (grr) but here's my question:

Which showing should we go to? Would it be better to see the earlier 8:30pm showing since the park closes at 10pm and most people are likely to wait to see the show at the end of the day? OR should we see the 10pm showing since most people may have already gone home for the night and saw the earlier show?

Let it be known that we are NOT going to be at HS all day. We are only going for the Fantasmic show as it is the only day that it fits into our itinerary.

Suggestions please!

Hi,

Historically the second showing for Fantasmic (and Spectromagic) will almost always have fewer people in attendance. Enjoy your trip!

Yep - I agree second showing. Plus while all the other's are going to the first showing you can ride rides with less wait.

Okay then! Thanks for your suggestions. We'll see if you're right when I'm there in a week. :cheer2:

Yes, we were there in March and only waited in line for about 30 minutes to see the second show. The line was always moving, and we did get good seats. Eventually the theater was fully crowded.

We did the 10:00 pm show on Wednesday, March 18, and there were completely unfilled sections of seats at both ends of the theatre. We could have just walked in at 9:55 and gotten the same seats we stood in line 30 minutes for.

The 8:30 pm show was filled to capacity by at least 8:10 (and probably considerably earlier).

First showing is more crowded. Second is less fighting for seats.

I don't know. It seems that both shows when we have been down are equally crowded...

I'm probably in the minority because the second show is probably less crowded but I like to go to the first showing. That way we can stroll into the theater early, grab a snack in the theater and sit and wait for the show with out standing in a line to get in. Works for us. :hippie:
