Darn...I thought we were having an update.

I can't get the photo uploader to work on photobucket... I was planning on posting an update tonight.

I'm really mad about this.

I enjoyed your last TR - looking forward to this one.

I hate to fly too. I try not to even think about it until I get to the airport.

I lived in Bradenton Beach for a little while as a kid. I hope you're headed there and post some pics!

I try not to think about flying even while I'm on the plane!!!!

We only went to the beach that one day... we had family over on Friday and left Saturday.... (spoiler alert!)

LOL You would hate the beaches here in CT. The water only gets to around 72-74 in the summer!!! It needs to be really hot for me to get in the water too!!

Yes I would! I have co-workers in Boston. They were talking about visiting Cape Cod in the fall. I said, "Do people really swim there at this time of year???". Crazy!

Friday morning came with a great rendition of 'The Little Mermaid's- Part of That World."

'I wanna be where the people are,
i wanna see
wanna see them dancing,
walking aorund on those.. what do you call them? oh feet..'

It would of been awesome except it was 6:30 again. We turned on the TV and Juliana watched the Disney channel while Mel & I drifted back to sleep for 30 minutes.

Finally I got up with Juliana and moved out into the living room. While we were eating breakfast we noticed the thermometer inching up. It was less windy than Thursday and about 5 degrees warmer. Once we were done eating we went outside to get some air... and some sun!






I ended up sitting in the sun for about 30 minutes and I got a slight sunburn on my face & neck! Man that sun is strong!

Just after noon, Melody's cousin, his wife, and 2 kids arrived at the house to visit. They live near Orlando and they came down to celebrate Christmas with the grandparents and to celebrate Juliana's birthday with us.

Now Melody's cousins wife has been taking cake classes for a few months. She made Juliana a birthday cake from scratch. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this cake. IT. WAS. AWESOME!!!!







She did an awesome job! I was secretly hoping the cake I ordered for Juliana's birthday in Disney would look 1/2 as good as this. We had lunch then the kids opened their gifts.



Juliana got the Tiana wedding dress!!!!!



We get to see Melody's cousin about every 6 months and when the kids see each other they are like long lost friends. They pick right up where they left off.



The 3rd cousins.. (i think that the lineage?)



It was so nice out that after gifts we brought the kids outside to let them blow off some steam.







Then... the moment came that I was waiting for... Cake time!





The cake was awesome! It was such a rich chocolate with chocolate mousse filling.



The bottom layer was rice krispy treats!!!!



Shortly after cake, Mel's cousin and family had to leave. We had a plan to meet up with them in one week on Friday 3/12. We weren't sure what we were going to do but we had a week to figure it out.

The rest of the evening was spent digesting the vast amounts of cake that we ate! It was exciting to goto bed because the next day was the day we checked into our rental house!!!!!

Up next .. We head for the border... Old friends.... Good times!!!

Those are meant for a good kind of shock! That is the most amazing homemade cake I"VE EVER SEEN!! Incredible would only begin to describe it.

GREAT idea for the rice krispy treats!! Those can be saved and savored for a long time! Less waste! More eats.

Gotta love that Florida sunshine. Wish it was a little warmer though.

That cake blew me away yet again. I remember being impressed when you sent the sneak peak. I love the idea of the treats on bottom. So simple and yet so creative!

If it's Mel's cousin, then your kids and his kids are second cousins. Mel and his kids are first cousins once removed. Your kids' kids would be third cousins. Clear as mud? I was held prisoner by my mother for days and weeks in the genealogy library when I was little.

And not to sound like a smarty pants here, but that blue dress is the one that Tiana wore to the masquerade ball. Not one of her two wedding gowns. I love all three of them though. I bought the DVD for my bday present and we've been watching it over and over and over and over and....

WOW! That's amazing! She definitely needs to keep taking those classes... and start a business. Absolutely amazing quality... and I can only imagine how good it tasted.
