Fall 2026 itineraries

So, I spoke with my brother who knows the cousin of someone who is acquainted with someone else who may know someone who may or may not be working the phone lines at DCL and may or may not be related to Mickey Mouse and they said that for sure the Fall 2026 / Winter 2027 itineraries will be released at some point in time in the future

Were they also a WDW bus driver by any chance

There is discussion elsewhere that someone was told by a DVC rep that their understanding is that DCL is transitioning to only having 2 releases per year, and the next release won't occur until Oct. A few others said they heard the same thing, but didn't give a source.

On one hand two releases a year makes sense. On the other hand October is WAY too close to some of those cruises that haven’t been released for next fall.

Because Disney logic dictates that would work better on a cruise ship than at Galactic Starcruiser.

In regards to the Aus/NZ being pulled, thats just one ship though. In the past DCL have released itineraries but omitted one ship during that sail period. Later, they then released the info for that ship.
I forget what ship it was but I remember a lot of people wondering what was happening.

That’s true but with the Magic also in Alaska next year they have two ships that we be on the west coast at the start of fall 2026 and while I suspect the plan was for one of them to be in San Diego for the fall, two ships in SD is a lot so I imagine they’re working out what to do with both. They could announce the balance of the itineraries but doing so would also highlight the failure of the Australia/New Zealand plans and Disney prefers to not highlight their failures.

It’s just too coincidental not to be related though IMO.

I could see them mixing things up a bit and maybe do long sailings on some ships and shorter sailings on others. I hope they will offer a 3-night sailing on the Treasure at some point like the Fantasy would have from time to time (prior to the Treasure coming online). The "Magic at Sea" cruises where no ports are scheduled can only happen in other countries (Singapore and Australia) since U.S. law requires a port stop in a different country. I know they do some 2-night sailings out of San Diego, but it would be crazy if they did anything less than 3-days here.

Australia could still be served, but maybe as part of one-way sailings that go from Sydney to Cairns, and then another leg that goes from Cairns to Bali. Then Bali to Vietnam, etc. Allow people to stitch together back-to-back itineraries that span more of the globe. Hit major destinations along the way to make it easy for travelers to hop on. Embarkation ports of Buenos AIres, Santiago, Sydney, Singapore, Dubai, Rome, etc.

Also, as it relates to SD, it was reported that DCL has been negotiating with the Avalon city council on Catalina Islands on a more formal berthing agreement, and looks like Carnival and to a lesser extent RCCL have been involved in the process... During the shoulder season, DCL indicated their preference being Tuesdays and Saturdays, which overlaps with Carnival (on Tuesdays) and indicated a preference of Tuesday in the Summer season. While Carnival also indicated that they could do Wednesdays, Carnival has been calling at Catalina for much longer than DCL so if there is some disagreement there, some further negotiating would be needed

DCL would guarantee 120,000 passengers annually. On the typical passenger load, this means roughly 48 calls to Catalina... If one ship was to only do short runs to Catalina and Ensenada...this means that one single ship would have to spend roughly 24 weeks in SD... (visiting the island 2x/week) an I think that the only time that the Wonder has spent as much time as that in SD was 2022/2023...

I do also think having at least one ship that's just generally cruising around the world would be smart. Australia could still be served, but maybe as part of one-way sailings that go from Sydney to Cairns, and then another leg that goes from Cairns to Bali. It's generally retired people that do those cruises. I don't think that is Disney's market.

It would for me.... If I could sail a Friday to Saturday night cruise to nowhere on the Magic or the Wonder out of PC I'd gladly make that a fun weekend adventure! But, I live pretty close to the port. Or a Sunday-Monday sailing over a holiday 3 day weekend. We also rarely get off the boat on 3 night itineraries except maybe for CC...

They may want to go that route as a way to maintain pricing - Disney has been known to do so before.... For example, they just reduced DVC add on points from 50 to 25 at all resorts... a few years ago they lowered DVC initial buy in from 150 points to 100...

I just got a survey from DCL today about why I didn't book a cruise while on their website. I have two cruises currently booked so I am not really sure why I even got this survey. In any case, it was asking a lot about what ships I was looking at. I selected the Wish, Dream, Fantasy, and Treasure. From there all the questions were about the Dream. In all of following questions one of the answers I could select about reasons why I didn't book was the schedule was not out far enough. So I think DCL knows the schedule not being out is an issue.

I feel my will to cruise next fall with DCL ebbing away.... tell the Gran Marnier Souffle that I love it...and the French Onion Soup...and the Beef Wellington...and the Champagne from Pink on the Dream. I'll still be watching over DCL, if I can, but...for now...I bid you ... (cough, for drama) ...a possible 'farewell' (maybe).

As I was reminded in the Alaska thread, though, cruises to nowhere are a no-go in the US unless the ship is a US built ship with a US registration and a US crew.

They cant go nowhere, but they could stop at Nassau...which is almost as good as nowhere. Don't worry they will charge as much as the old 3 day cruises. In a few years the two day will cost what the 7 day does today.

I got a similar one about a month ago. It started pretty random and then basically everything else was about the Dream. Similar to you it asked questions as to why I didn't book a Dream cruise. I seem to remember it heavily focused on what types of discounts it would take for me to book in the next 6 to 9 months.

There is a recent post in the New DCL ships post that shows the steel cutting ceremony for the 4th Wish Class ship. The theory is that this marks the time period of when that ship will launch. According to the post that would make it April 2027 based on recent history. Could this be potentially why DCL is holding off releasing the new itineraries which would include spring 2027 ? I’m guessing they don’t want to list that one on itineraries
Before they even announce information on the new ship. Maybe ?
