That would be great if more ships offered diversity of itinerary like that.
I do also think having at least one ship that's just generally cruising around the world would be smart. Australia could still be served, but maybe as part of one-way sailings that go from Sydney to Cairns, and then another leg that goes from Cairns to Bali. Then Bali to Vietnam, etc. Allow people to stitch together back-to-back itineraries that span more of the globe. Hit major destinations along the way to make it easy for travelers to hop on. Embarkation ports of Buenos AIres, Santiago, Sydney, Singapore, Dubai, Rome, etc.
