Extra Magic Hours Wristbands

Well correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't they be standing by the ride entrances checking for KTTW cards, because what would be the point of having them do this? Also where would the Cast Members stand at the attractions without Fast Passes?

Pardon me if I'm wrong - I was addressing possible staff cuts influencing Fast Pass distribution staffing ANY time the parks are open. My reference was simply saying the castmembers who used to issue wristbands AND the cost of wristbands may have fallen to cost cuts. Remember those....the ones promised to not affect the guest experience?

Since the ride entrances are staffed anyway....these castmembers are now forced to do double duty by checking cards.

You are right about watching for KTTW cards vs. wristbands but that has nothing to do about what I was talking about.

Ok now I understand what you were saying before.

I'm mixed on this. While I like the wristband idea (and kicking non-resort guests out) I had issues with the wristbands. I can't wear anything on my right wrist (odd physiological thing) and I had several CMs give me trouble about this. I used to go to City Hall or look for a location with a manager to make sure I didn't have a problem.

On the other hand it is really annoying to pull out my room key for every ride. It actually has made me question if I really want to go to an eEMH anymore. The few I've been to, they didn't check room keys. There were people in line who were boasting about how they weren't staying at Disney, but were still getting on the rides and seeing characters. It just made me mad.

Does anyone know if Disney will bring back the Extra Magic Hours wristbands? ... What do you think they should do if they don't bring the bands back?

They'll do what makes them/saves them the most money (remember they're a for profit business). Right now they are saving money. Until they see a negative impact to their current decision, they arn't going to do anything.

They should do a glow in the dark or black light stamp and at the entrance of every ride just stick out your hand and show them. Disney could put black lights at every ride just to make it look cool at night and so its easier but whatever disney does would work for me :) As long as im there it dont really matter if we have the cards or not but something new would be nice :goodvibes

I agree. Even with a lanyard, I wouldn't feel safe taking my key out at night.

Hopefully with the 50th Anniversary and YOMD over we will see the return of E-nights. No wait for anything and only a few dollars for those staying at a WDW resort. That would be worth celebrating !!!:cool1:

I aqlway thought the wristbands were a bad idea for anyone who was with a hotel guest could easily get back on line with the guest hotel key. It never made sense to me.
