Extend Hours or After Hours

We are currently planing an August multigenerational trip to WDW. We told the kids (ages 20, 18, 16, 14, & 14) we would purchase the After Hours HS tickets for them. However, this is the same night as the MK Extended Hours.
I would like for them to do both, but obviously that isn't going to work out.
So I am desperately seeking opinions....

100% would skip the AHs at any of the other 3 parks (not enough to do for crowds) and do the included EMHs at MK. We did the AHs in February at DHS and it was a total waste of money. You can read lots of reports on the. AHs thread but basically it seems really hit or miss as to if ppl have a good time or not. - Honestly even the reports of positive experiences seem no better. and in some cases still not as nice as the MK Emhs we've done a handful of times. - Only difference is no snacks but the snacks that are part of it don't excite us anyways. I think DHS just doesn't have enough open attractions during the event to make it worth it at all...let alone the money you spend on it.

Wait... have they released AHs events for DHS in August? The only AHs events listed on WDW website for the summer are Epcot.

Not yet. For planning purposes I'm going on the assumption that if it continues it will be Wednesday. Maybe I'll get lucky and they will move the date.

I hope your right and they do add some for August, unfortunately I don't think they will, because all summer Typhon Lagoon is hosting AHs for Saturday's and Epcot's AHs are Thursdays, don't forget the Food and Wine Festival is happening, I feel like DW is so short staffed still they can't accommodate all these events. I just wish DHS would have EMHs this summer!

Good point on the short staffing. Also, Iger's push to not nickel and dime...he may feel it's a bad look to have so many pay to play after hours events....
I still think we get more bang for the buck at DHS.
