I am sincerely sorry you are sad. Some things never change.![]()
My opinion hasn't changed: I don't know anyone who isn't standing tall and strong for France.

In any war. You are either all in or all out. You want to win you are all in. If you are not then you should be all out.
Now it isn't a choice. We are now fighting for our lives. ISIS said they will come after us and they are ... Paris.
Not stopped it will be here.
Your first instinct was spot on.
Oh it has politics alright. It's time for everyone to wake up to the fact that "here" is wherever civilized humans want to live in a civilized society -- it has no borders, it has no creed, it has no race, it has no ethnicity, it has no politics. It's civilized human beings standing together for peace, telling Daesh and all others who would terrorize and threaten peaceful society very simply, No.
I'm not saying they aren't allowing you to change your picture to the Lebananese flag. What I mean is that right now Facebook has added the ability to take your existing profile picture and cover it with a semi-transparent French flag. All you have to do is click a button. But only a French flag. They didn't do that for Kenya in April. They didn't do that for Lebanon. I know it's minor, and very picky. It's just interesting to me that one's more important than others.
It doesn't surprise me.

Not as simple, as many countries are finding out many of the terrorist are "homegrown". next, where are you going to deport them to? Let's say you get a guy who you have some one here you suspect is a terrorist, he's here legally but an Iraian, African or syrian national. Do you think it's a simple put them on the plane and ship them back?
France stood by the United States when we were attacked on 9/11, did Beirut and Kenya?
It wasn't a random act. It was a very planned act. The terrorist group planned that attack for over a year, and considered several targets before settling on the Murrah building. They reason people bring it up is that it is a domestic, white, radical anti Government, religious group that committed a heinous act on US soil. People do not have to be Muslims to be terrorists. He was not a single evil person. He was a perfectly functional healthy person until he went off to war, came back, became involved with right wing, anti government, militia movement types here in our own country. He is a perfect example of how people become radicalized and paranoid. So that's why people bring it up.Why am I starting to see people mention timothy mcvee, which happened 10 years ago? Yes, he was an evil human being that got the death penalty rather quickly. Please don't use him as an example, as it was 10 years ago and obviously a very random act. Let's not compare him to the radical Islamic terrorists, who seem to strike on a weekly/monthly basis around the world.

So now ISIS released a video saying they plan to attack DC like Paris. I'm interested to see what response we (the USA) will have to this. I'll admit I never paid this much attention to these things until my husband joined the military, now I find myself checking the news everyday and always wondering.

Yeah and I get that part, too, but from what I've seen and how the media decides to portray certain things, it rings true from an opinion-based view. I don't think anyone can be unbiased when it comes down to it, but I figured I could point it out.Possibly so. But who gets to be the arbiter of which viewpoint is correct? Can you definitively say one or the other is true, with objective proof?
I know many who are not. Should see my FB feed. -_-You're totally entitled to your opinions.
Not sure how this advances the discussion...but that's me.
