I'm taking my 5th solo trip and my 12th overall trip in April 2026. We love POFQ by I'm itching to try someplace new. I keep tossing around Coronado Springs. Sarasota Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge (not Savannah view). Looking for pro and con feedback from solo travelers(female) who stayed at these resorts

Gotcha, & technically if you're going to spend a lot of time out of the room, don't bother, you can always walk out & see animals. :)

I've never stayed at any of your other options, so I'm not good for suggestions, but I do like trying new things.

If you're talking about Jambo (not Kidani), I stayed in a standard view once, and it had a better view of the savannah than the savannah view room I had gotten a few months before. Both of my stays were as a solo female. I had considered POFQ, which at the time was DH's favorite resort, but I wanted to stay at a resort that I considered "my solo resort", not ours.

Book Saratoga Springs Preferred and request Congress Park for a quick walk to Disney Springs and the nice quiet pool/hot tub.

From your list, I have only stayed at Coronado. Unless you are in the tower, it’s very spread out, like POR. That could be good or bad, depending on how often you want to go to dining or the pool.

If AKL is appealing to you, I would recommend there. AKL is unique. Where else in the US are you going to stay at a resort with that kind of atmosphere? I visited the resort once to look around and fell in love and my next two WDW vacations after that were at AKL It's out of my budget now, but if I could, I would!

I've stayed at Coronado solo twice and love it. I stay in the standard rooms (not Tower) and don't find the walking to be more than 5-7 minutes away from the main lobby. It's larger than POFQ (I've stayed there too and do love it) but honestly, for the price (Coronado is always cheaper standard for standard) and the amenities, Coronado wins out for me. I don't spend much time at the resort but I love that Coronado has multiple restaurants and bars, POFQ is a little sleepier.

It really depends a lot on which theme appeals to you the most.

SSR and AKL get access to the extended evening hours, where as a moderate CSR does not, if that makes a difference to you. As mentioned earlier, SSR is next door to DS, so you have easy access to even more shopping and dining.

All three will have access to good dining and similar resort amenities.

My personal advice? CSR if your trip is park heavy, SSR if you need the variety of entertainment offered by DS, AKL if you will be spending some time just enjoying your resort.

Good point!

I love Destino Tower at CSR, I have stayed at POFQ, AKL, and CSR, tower and regular room. Tower is better as a solo in my opinion.

I've stayed at all 4 locations; here is my opinion.

AKL/Jambo. If we can afford it (BIG if), I stay here and ask for a partial savanna view room. I love AKL, it's my favorite place to stay anywhere, not just WDW, but it's expensive. People complain about the length of the halls at Jambo, but honestly... you have to walk a decent distance to ANY hotel room in Disney, so I'm not sure why AKL gets the majority of the complaints! I go to AKL every Disney trip, just to sit in the lobby for a bit to absorb the serenity and ambiance, or to enjoy an adult bev at Victoria Falls. Yes... I like AKL that much that I'll take time out of a park day just to visit the resort.

SSR- DH and I are staying here for 4 nights in January. I don't find the resort or the food/bev options very exciting, but we got a good rate by renting DVC points. We stay here mostly when we are doing a non-parks trip, as we enjoy the proximity to Disney Springs restaurants and bars.

CSR- I LOVE staying at CSR! Now that Three Bridges is in the middle of the lake and there are several bridges across the lake, it doesn't seem that big. The resort is beautiful! I also like that there are multiple restaurants, lounges that stay open later in the evening, etc. Last time I splurged on a preferred location and was a 5 minute walk from the bus stop.

POFQ- We like POFQ well enough, and it's sometimes a choice when DH is traveling with me as he doesn't enjoy crowds. I mainly choose POFQ when I want a small, quieter resort. My sister lives in NOLA so we aren't terribly impressed with either the food court or the beignets at POFQ, but it's a nice little resort with great bartenders at both the pool bar and ScatCats.
