Welcome everyone to the 2015 edition of the Club Level (CL) information thread! :goodvibes Here on the DISboards we have many members with extensive experience staying in the various club levels on property. Many of us are happy to contribute information, personal experiences, and opinions to help others who might be new to club level and the amenities they offer. Here on this thread I have provided many of my personal photos and trip reports having stayed at almost every CL on property and I'm always looking for new/updated pics and info from anyone with a recent stay. If you have anything to share please send me a private message and I'd love to incorporate it into our ever-changing collection. :)

Over the last 14 years I've been posting here on the Resort Board probably the #1 question I get asked is "What is club level?", which is then shortly followed by "Do I need it?". Hopefully after reading this information thread, looking at photos, and asking questions of our experts, you'll be able to answer that question for yourself! ;)

All eight of the Walt Disney World "deluxe" resorts offer club level. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Club level is a specific booking category that has an additional cost. The amount will vary depending on the resort and the season... also if varies depending on discounts you might be using (ie. Annual Passholder, Florida Resident, etc). For specific rates please check the WDW website or with your travel agent.

***Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (a moderate category resort) also now offers a limited club level service***

Each club levels has their own IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) that assists club level guests with many needs. Dining reservations, dinner shows, Cirque du Soleil tickets, private fireworks cruises, recreation, golf tee times, childcare, spa treatments, special occasions and events, photography, Birthdays, special requests, etc. If they can't specifically do what you need to have done they can at least direct you to the person you need to contact (ie. Disney Florist, Cake Hotline, etc). Many DISers report having great success with the IPO staff finding hard to get ADRs (Advanced Dining Reservations) like Be Our Guest, Wishes/Illuminations dessert parties, etc. You are always welcome to book your own dining, but if you'd like assistance from the IPO staff you'll want to provide them a list of restaurants and preferred dates and times before you hit your 180 day mark (if possible). Even if your vacation is coming up in less than 180 days IPO staff can still help by putting you on their "keep checking" list for those locations that don't show availability. In my own experience they've even been able to find BOG ADRs on short notice! :)
***If you have a confirmed reservation to stay in a club level room or suite you do NOT need to wait for the IPO to contact you, you can contact them by phone or email at any time!***

Over the years this thread has had an immense amount of support from the DISboard community. Thank you so much to everyone who shares their thoughts, opinions, reviews and photos. :)

...... Here we go! :wizard:

First off, let's start with some general contact information. Below you will find the email addresses and phone numbers for the various IPOs. Please do not contact them until you have a confirmed reservation for a club level room. Once you have a reservation you may be contacted by the IPO or you might need to reach out to them. It seems to be hit and miss these days so I don't recommend waiting around for a welcome email if you have questions or need assistance. :thumbsup2

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

IMG_3987_zpsleelvvgy.jpg

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa offers two distinctly different club levels. The Royal Palm Club in the main building of the resort and a separate exterior building club level called Sugar Loaf. You will notice a significant price difference between the two levels. Both offer various view categories as well as suites.

From the previous thread:

The third, fourth and fifth floors of the main building are home to the 83 Concierge rooms (including suites). Access to these floors is by private elevator only. Staff is available on the third floor to assist you. (see list in first post of this thread for a list of services)

The Concierge Lounge is located on the fourth floor. Here, guests may enjoy a continental breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The continental breakfast includes danish, bagels, cereal, fresh fruits, coffee, tea and juice. "Daily Delights" from 11:30am to 2:30pm (the menu varies daily, but usually includes a meat dish, fruits and a vegetarian dish, including cookies, coffee, sodas and juices). Afternoon tea from 3pm to 4:30pm (includes scones, fruit breads, cookies, jam tarts, and of course, tea). Twilight Refreshments from 5pm to 7pm (includes wine and cheese, with appetizer type dishes served. "Grand Indulgences" (desserts and cordials) from 8pm to 10pm. UPDATE: The food offerings at the Royal Palm Club are now the same was the outer Sugar Loaf building.

Guests who need to connect to home or work via the Internet while vacationing, will find high speed internet access via WiFi.

Rollaway beds are offered free of charge. Guest may request bed boards, bed rails, down pillows, heating pads, microwave oven (limited number available), extra pillows, blankets, towels, robes and International Electrical Adapters. Call Housekeeping to do so.

If there are more than 2 adults in the same room, there is an additional charge of $25 per person, per night. For families with very small children, cribs (the pak-n-play variety), playpens and high chairs are available by calling Housekeeping or Guest Services.

A limited number of handicapped accessible rooms are available. In Sago Cay, there are 3 rooms, Sugar Loaf has 2, Big Pine Key has 2 and there are some in Conch Key as well.

Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. Guest may check in as early as 7 a.m. and if the room is not ready, store luggage with Bell Services and head for the theme parks when they open.

Here is a sample welcome packet the IPO would send you before your vacation: https://word.office.live.com/wv/Wor...2BCYHy_x6nDyL&title=Blank+GF+PIP+12+21+14.doc

Disney's Polynesian Resort is currently going through some major changes as it undergoes significant construction and remodeling to add the new Disney Vacation Club villas. This post is just for general information, if you need specific information about the coming changes, construction, pool closures, etc, please see the Official Poly Construction thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3110773

Both Club Level floors offer service which includes personalized front desk and guest services, turndown service, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, beer, and evening cordials and dessert. The Atrium Club is on the 12th floor and is comprised of standard rooms and has full Club Level service. The Tower Club on the 14th floor offers the same full Club Level service. When you arrive tell the Cast Members working at the bell services desk located outside you are staying Club Level. They will call another Cast Member escort you up to the 12th or 14th floor because they already have a key which is coded for either floor that needs to be inserted into the elevator, so once you arrive on your floor you can check-in up there.

Difference between the 2 Club Level floors

The Atrium Club Magic Kingdom View and Bay Lake View became available by reservation on 01/09/09. Prior to that all you needed was an Atrium Club reservation and you would end up with either view.

With the Tower Club there are a total of 16 rooms, 5 standard rooms and 11 suites: 1 & 2 Bedroom Suites, a Vice Presidential Suite and a Presidential Suite. With the standard rooms, there is no guarantee of a Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake View. However with the Suites, you will be booked into a particular view which will indicate the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View. Finally there are 4 Standard Magic Kingdom View rooms and 1 standard Bay Lake View room.

The lounge on the 12th floor is bigger with more seating than the 14th floor concierge lounge. They converted 3 standard rooms into the 12th floor lounge, so there are 3 balconies available on the MK side for all Concierge guests to watch the fireworks. The lounge on the 14th floor also offers seating outside on the balcony, which is something that is not offered on the 12th floor lounge.

Finally both floors serve the exact same foods for breakfast, afternoon snacks, 5:00 PM hors d'oeuvres and 8:00 PM desserts & cordials. The 12th floor Atrium Club is less expensive then the 14th floor Tower Club, even though on both floors offer the exact same service. The 14th floor is more expensive because fewer number of total rooms and Suites.

TigrLvsPooh's CR Atrium Club review: https://erika_murphy.silvrback.com/disney-s-contemporary-resort

Monday
Beef Kafta Skewers
Prosciutto Wrapped Sea Scallops

Tuesday
Rock Shrimp with Humus
Lollipop Chicken with BBQ Sauce

Wednesday

Thursday
BBQ Short Rib in Spring Roll
Tomato and Mozzarella Bruschetta

Friday
Blue Crab Cheese Cake
Beef Tenderloin Skewers

Saturday
Macadamia Nut Chicken
Beef and Goat Cheese Flatbread

CR Resort Fan 4 Life: "This past August when I was in the lounge on a Thursday night they ran out of the BBQ Short Rib in Spring Roll and replaced it with the Beef Wellington that was on the old lounge menu. (just in case it ever happens again, if someone was looking forward to a specific item.)"

If you are staying in an Atrium Club - Bay Lake View and want to watch Wishes, go to the lounge on the 12th floor to watch them; they also pipe in the music over there. The same thing can be done for guests staying with a Bay Lake View on the Tower Club 14th floor. The music is also piped in up there. Finally on nights when the Magic Kingdom is having Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the music for either party is also piped into both lounge balconies.

The Contemporary IPO Cast Members are also the Grand Floridian IPO Cast Members.

Disney's Beach Club Resort is steps from Epcot and known for its expansive pool area called Stormalong Bay. The theme of this resort has a very seaside/beachy feel. It is laid back, casual, and very cheery. We've all been waiting on pins and needles to see the newly renovated and expanded club lounge, so here you go!!!!

UPDATE: Alcohol is now being served to guests at the Beach Club, it is no longer self serve.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

IMG_6164.jpg

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is connected to the Beach Club Resort and offers access to Stormalong Bay as well. It's a bit further of a walk from Epcot, but very close to the boat dock for Hollywood Studios transportation. The theme of the resort is a luxurious nautical theme and the club level offers standard, garden, and lagoon/pool view rooms as well as deluxe rooms, 2 bedrooms suites, and larger suites.

Disney's Boardwalk Inn
71DA9D48-7A4A-458B-B181-63337572651D_zpsf0x7ls7b.jpg

Disney's Boardwalk Inn is conveniently located near Epcot's International Gateway, as well as a peaceful boat ride from Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Boardwalk area offers many dining and entertainment options which makes this resort extremely desirable. The club level has been scrutinized for its difficult and long journey from the lobby, requiring guests to manipulate through several turns to reach the Innkeeper's Club. However once there you will find some of the best castmembers I've ever encountered on property. The club level offers standard and deluxe rooms, two story garden rooms (maximum occupancy of 2) as well as suites.

Contact Information:
Phone: (407) 934-1448
Fax: (407) 934-1487
Email: Boardwalk.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com
(Please do not contact the IPO until you have a confirmed reservation.)

The Concierge Lounge "Innkeeper's Club" hours of service are:

Doors open at 6:30am, for Coffee & Tea Service
Continental Breakfast from 7:00am to 10:30am;
Refreshments from 11:30am to 4pm;
Wine and Cheese Selections from 5:00pm to 7:00pm;
Cordials and Desserts from 8:00pm to 10pm
Doors closed at 10pm each night

The Garden Suites are designed for Honeymooners and groups of 2. Parties of 4 are no longer booked in the Garden Suites.

There are a Total of 57 Concierge Room
The 14 Garden Suites are on the 1st Floor in the "Quiet/Garden" area.
5 Deluxe Rooms are on the 3rd Floor (Two above Flying Fish and 3 above Kouzzina's) (BoardWalk Views)
5 Deluxe Rooms are on the 4rd Floor (Two above Flying Fish and 3 above Kouzzina's) (BoardWalk Views)
The Steeplechase (Presidential) and the Sonora (Vice-Presidential) Suites are on the 4th Floor (BoardWalk Views)
4 Two Bedroom Suites (NO BoardWalk Views)
ONLY 8 Standard Club WITH BoardWalk Views
Leaving 19 Standard Club with Garden (Quiet Side) View.

3rd Floor Deluxe Rooms (Total 5) are not behind the Security door and will require either a stairway access or a elevator ride up to the 4th Floor Lounge. There are 3 rooms on the 4th Floor (1-Deluxe, 2-Standards) that are also outside of the 4th Floor Security Door, just around the corner from the 4th Floor Check-In Desk.

These limitations sometimes make it difficult to meet multiple room requests. NO rooms are near an elevator. Few rooms in the standard catagory have a BoardWalk View.

(Thank you Crazy Hakim)

AVAILABLE TO AKL-CL & AKV-CL GUESTS ONLY: Sunrise Safari.
Sundays & Thursdays. The Sunrise Safari can only be booked through AKLs Itinerary Planning Office, 180 days in advance. The current cost is $65.00 for ages 10 and up; $32.50 for children ages 3-9. Payment in advance is required. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy.

Your invitation will be delivered to your room the evening prior to the Safari. You need to check in with the Lounge CMs the morning of the Safari as they will swipe your Park Tickets. You will be instructed where to meet the group in the lobby (departure is usually 7:30am).

The group will proceed out the front lobby doors, go through a quick bag check (security), then board 2 buses for the ride to AK. You go through the backstage area, which is quite interesting (no pictures allowed in any backstage areas).

The tour, along the Kilimanjaro Safari ride path in Animal Kingdom, lasts about an hour and includes multiple stops so you can stand up and take pictures. Each of the animals along the way is described in detail, since there is plenty of time. After the Safari, there's a breakfast buffet in a private room at Pizzafari. The chefs do a fantastic job preparing this feast, which includes standard American and African items.

AVAILABLE TO ALL AKL/AKV GUESTS: Wanyama (Sunset) Safari:
This Safari takes place on the Savannas of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is meant to be a re-creation of a true African afternoon game drive and is an opportunity to spend time with members from the animal programs team learning about the natural history and management of the animal collection at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Guests will have photo opportunities of the animals and architecture of Animal Kingdom Lodge that can only be experienced from the Savannas. Your safari will conclude with a true African dining experience at Jiko, just like the lodges in Africa where a multi-course meal will await you.

Hours: Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays about 1 1/2 hours before sunset at the lodge's Porte Cochere.

Age Requirement: Must be 8 years of age or older.

Cost: $190 per person (age 8 and older). Tax and gratuity are included as well as a small contribution to the Disney Conservation Fund.

Reservations: This event can only be booked by contacting the Animal Kingdom Lodge Itinerary Planning Office. Note that there is a 48-hour cancellation policy. The safari can be booked 180 days out from the day of the event.

Tipping Guidelines:

1) Concierge (and Front Desk) CM's can be fired for taking cash tips.
2) They are supposed to refuse up to three times. If you ask a fourth time, they take it, but, they must immediately turn it over to a manager
3) The tip goes into a fund, and the manager buys donuts or coffee for all.
4) If they do not turn in the cash, it can be immediate termination.

NOTE: They can accept gifts of up to $75 value (like candy, snacks, homemade items, flowers, gift baskets, etc).

I've been told that they appreciate small gifts (especially edible gifts!) that represent where you come from, for example, I'm from Massachusetts, so perhaps something cranberry-based. I'd try to bring some lobsters, but I think that'd be a bit tricky to get through the airport security.

(TheRustyScupper)

I am in need of WL CL pictures!!! :) Also if you have welcome letters from WL, GF, or CR I'd love a scanned copy of those as well. :goodvibes

It's a work in progress but I'll keep plugging away! :thumbsup2

TigrLvsPooh...thanks for taking the effort to make this big move! You are awesome!!!:cool1: I think you can ask the mods to lock the old thread so you don't have to worry about it anymore. We would do that with my Disboutique thread when it hit 250 pages.

And yea, me!!! I'm the first new post! :lmao:

Thanks for all the info...we will be staying at BC in a few weeks. If anything looks different, I'll be sure to take pics for you. :beach:

Thanks for taking this over!!! Looks great!! One observation i made, and pointed out to Scott before was that the GF info indicates that Sugarloaf offerings are different from RPC. That has not been the case for several years now. They both have the same offerings. I know that has caused people confusion in the past, so maybe an edit?

Other than that, looks awesome!!! :thumbsup2

I won't be at Sugarloaf until August, but will be glad to grab pics.

Great job! Just booked AKL CL for the first week in March for our babymoon :goodvibes

Thank you for taking this over/updating - great photos and info (of course the other thread had great info too :goodvibes).

That's all for now.... I am in need of WL CL pictures as well as RPC and Sugar Loaf if anyone is willing to share. Also if you have welcome letters from WL, GF, or CR I'd love a scanned copy of those as well. :goodvibes

It's a work in progress but I'll keep plugging away! :thumbsup2

WDWKOOK has a ton of WL-CL pics on the WL thread, I'm sure she would be willing to share.

And the 1st post of the thread looks great and easy to navigate!

Erika, thanks so much for doing this! Everything looks great!

We never thought we'd get into CL, but in 2009, we booked a SV room at the GF and we're upgraded to the RPC, and since then, when the money has allowed, we've been staying CL. It's one of those things when you ask yourself, do I really need this? The answer is clearly no, but it's such a nice little luxury to have. For us, it's really not about the food, or the seclusion, or the IPO (we really enjoy making our own plans!), but about the CMs. We've met so many wonderful ones so far! At BWI, Jackie, Scott, Anita, JJ and Jese come to mind, as does Chip and Jill at BC. It's so nice to come back to your room and have a new CM friend ask what the lines were like at Space Mountain, or ask if we liked The Brown Derby, or tell us they've been working on changing that reservation from 7 to 8. It's that special treatment that gets us to spend our dollars on CL. They take the time to learn your name and your interests and even have a pretty good idea of what your itinerary is. That's special to us.

So far, we've stayed CL at the GF (RPC), AKL, BWI, and BC. So far, our favorite, hands down has been BWI, though BC is a close second. At BWI, we of course love the CMs, but we also love the spaciousness of the lounge, and how they never seem to run out of offerings. The lounge is also BEAUTIFUL. It's a treat to watch some of the Illuminations fireworks from the lounge balcony, and in our stays, we've been lucky enough to score a BoardWalk view from our room and I truly dint believe there's a better view at WDW. I'm also obsessed with the moon-themed turndown cards they use there. I actually framed a full set and hang them by our bed.

This summer, we are trying YC CL and can't wait! I'd love to hear Regatta Club stories!

Thanks again Erika!
