They are pretty flexible on the incentives.Right, but they let us keep it for 3 weeks later when we were finally ready to jump. My guide said she had to talk to her supervisor, but they agreed to let us have it.
I wonder if they feel they shot themselves in the foot with all the price increases? Do we possibly see some bigger incentives on sold out resorts so they can start ROFR back up?
Try another guide, or ask to speak to a supervisor to see if you can get some assistance? I can't imagine they'd make so accommodations for someone who wants to purchase direct now! You are purchasing a total of 180 points, so why should it matter if you split it into 3 contracts?Potential first time buyer here. I was hoping to try to possibly split points with enough in total to get incentives at Copper Creek and Riviera. No go. Also wanted to try to get three 60 point contracts for total of 180 pts to eventually leave to our 3 boys and to get discount - no go, was told minimum 1st contract at Copper Creek is 75pts, which would then either force purchasing more to keep them even, or leave them uneven. Ok... wanted August use year 1) since that will work best for our travel most of the time and 2) since I've read on these boards that they will give you 2019 pts and bank them)--no go, was told i'd have to wait until August 1st to get an August use year and only get 2020 pts. must be doing something wrong![]()
Okay, I just asked my sales guide, and here's what he told me: there is NO wiggle room around CCV or Riviera. CCV has a 75 minimum for new members, Riviera has 100. Any other older resort is only 50, so you could do 3 60-point contracts. I still think it's crazy they won't allow it if you're buying a total number of points higher than the minimum.Potential first time buyer here. Can anyone tell me what rationale they are using to get 2019 points as well? Looking to purchase (2) 100 point RIV and should I still expect to get them at $160/PP even tho I'm purchasing (2) 100 contracts? I haven't spoken to an agent yet. Still waiting on my resale contract to load any day now.
To get 2019 points, you need to pick a UY that is further than the current month, so that the month of your purchase is in the 2019 UY. Thus, if you purchase an August, September, October, or December UY, you will get 2019 UY points since you are still IN that UY, as well as 2020 UY points as of the first day of your UY month.Can anyone tell me what rationale they are using to get 2019 points as well? Yes, you will still get the $160/pp for purchasing 200+ points, even if you split it into 2 contracts (provided you are an existing member). I added on 2 Fixed Weeks at CCV for 236 total points, split into 2 118-point contracts, and I received the $35 off for 200+ points.

I think this is the way to go. Thank you all so muchWith three kids that's hard with the three contracts especially if you could get the blue card for each contract so would need 100 points per contract. Could do two 100 point contracts (yes a little more points than you had mentioned) and get a contract for the third kiddo later. 180 points @ Riviera x $180/point = $32,400 while 200 points @ Riviera x 170/point (since you would hit that next threshold for discounts) = $34,000. Not that $1,600 is nothing but bumping up to that next point discount category and getting 2 contracts with 1) less closing costs than three and 2) a blue card for each contract. 3) Plus for that $1,600 you get 20 more points - just $80/point for those additional 20 points. YAAAS. Then you when you can afford you can buy a 3rd contract for the other kiddo at a different resort (or the same).
I think indeed this is the way to go AND if you still wanted Copper Creek, you could do 100 there and 100 at Riviera and get the same total discount (whatever the discount is for 200 pts). It would be a little more expensive only because Copper Creek has been around longer so the price per point is higher than Riviera.I think this is the way to go. Thank you all so much.
