Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

I don't think my PM's are working. I tried to send one to someone else and it's not showing in my sent box. So if you sent the pm with your e-mail, I promis I am not ignoring you. :)

I see Elvis in the tree...thats kind of neat.

What kind of SCAR do you have? We are getting Equinox's for our rentals this Nov and my concern is the luggage storage. We will have at least 4 big suitcases and a couple of carry ons plus 4 people in each car. Do you think it will all fit?

I have read your last two trip reports and am enjoing this one too!!!

Thanks for the entertainment!

Tell Hunter he got the spire on the RSA Tower rather nicely!! They have different colors on at different times of the year. At Christmas it is green and red and is so pretty. It is funny that you honk your horn when you go through the tunnel. Before they built the Wallace Tunnels, the only tunnel was the Bankhead tunnel through downtown Mobile, and it was illegal to turn on your headlights OR honk your horn while in the tunnel...........:lmao:.

I know you were glad to be on the road and headed out. Pulling out of the driveway always makes it real!! I think I need to write the Jameson Inn and tell them they need to have a "Lisa Suite" just for you; you give them your business every trip!!

OK, hopefully I will be able to keep up with this TR, I want to hear all about the cruise and see the pix.

I go back to the doctor next Wednesday and I am praying the doctor releases me so I can get back to the nursery where I belong!!

I'm so glad that you're here on the Dis again. I missed chatting with my friend. You know, maybe the Jameson Inn does need to name a quite after us.....I advertise for them in every trip report. LOL!

I sure hope that the doctor releases you so that you can get back to the job that you love.

Shoot! Did you get the pm that had my cellphone number in it? If you did, then send me a text and I'll send you my email address.

The tree is pretty neat isn't it. I don't know if they keep it trimmed like that or if it's just natural.

We have a Mazda CX7 and we were able to put three large suitcases, a medium suitcase which was almost the same size as the big ones, a large duffel bag full of shoes, a garmet bag and two totes in the SCAR. The back seat has two sections...one big and one little. We laid the little side down and put the duffle bag on it and then put the two totes on top of that. The other suitcases and the garment bag fit nicely in the back and didn't come up above the backseat. We could have just left the seat up and put the bags on the floor if we wanted to. Or, we could have even put the duffle on the top of the suitcases.

I had never heard of the Elvis Tree. Too bad there isn't one in Southern Georgia. It would have given us something to look forward to seeing.

I LOVE honking in tunnels. I go a little crazy. I honk from the very beginning of the tunnel to the very end. Looks like that's a big tunnel you go through. Lots of opportunities to honk! :thumbsup2

I don't know Lisa, to me some of those glares in the photo you took looking out at the parking lot look a little suspicious... Maybe the ghosts were saying hi. :lmao:

Nice start! I can't wait to hear more! I am particularly intersted in your take on the cruise. We have never tried one and aren't sure if its for us!

Good grief! I have to hold on to my hat with your TR's. They go faster than a greased pig with a 6 year old chasing him! Can't wait to hear more.

Great update, Lisa. I love your husband...he just cracks me up.

I definitely can see the "Elvis" in the Elvis tree.

Glad the ghosts didn't bother you at the Jameson. By the way, did I ever thank you for the recommendation? We stayed at one in Valdosta and it was a nice hotel and at a good price too.

Loving the TR so far! Now tell that boss of yours to lay off, you have more installments to entertain us with! :rotfl2:

Hey Lisa,
I enjoyed your first installment. Why is it the last day at work before a vacation is the most stressful?? I sometimes think my boss is trying to 'punish' me before I leave just to make me think twice about even thinking about taking a vacation again. ;)

See Lisa - I really think the least the Jameson Inn can do for you is comp you a free night on next year's trip for all the business you give them! :thumbsup2

I didn't. I sent you a message through ebay. Maybe that will work.

Got the picture!

Welcome! It shouldn't take you long to keep up with this one.....you know how slow I move sometimes.

Thanks! We loved it especially my DD! I thought it was definitely worth the price and would recommend a Disney cruise to any WDW fan.

Hunter really enjoyed the teen club and would have gone there every day had we had the time. Jhn and I were a little meh on the whole cruise but there were quite a few high points.

I'm glad that there's another person who can see Elvis.

From what we could tell, the ghosts left us alone all night long. Well, I guess they did...I was out like a light and we slept pretty hard so they have made some tricks that we slept through.

I'm so glad that the Valdosta Jameson Inn was nice. Lacey said that she thought that was the one they stayed in when they were in the Mission.

Stumbled upon your TR while checking out the DIS today and enjoyed reading...:)

Welcome! I hope that you'll feel free to post your thoughts and comments.

The boss has depositions this afternoon that could last all afternoon long. You know what that means....another installment!

I don't know why bosses play mind games with us but I sure wish they'd stop it.

I am always recommending Jameson Inn to anyone and everyone 'cause they are always easy to get to and, most times, very clean and the price is right.

On the Road Again! I just can’t wait to get on the road again.....

....especially when that road leads me straight to Walt Disney World. Well, not really “straight” because there are quite a few turns that we needed to make but you get my drift. :drive:

Because most of our traveling is done on weekdays, we aren’t concerned with getting up super early to be back on the road. We usually sleep until 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. so that, by the time we are done getting ready and have the SCAR packed, the rush hour traffic has died down some. But, because today was THE day that we would arrive at Walt Disney World, as soon as my eyes opened, I was up and at ‘em. I popped each of the boys on the behinds and, surprisingly, there were no grumbling protests from them. They also got up and soon, Hunter and I were going down to the lobby to grab a quick breakfast for us all while John finished getting ready.

I didn’t even think to take my camera down with me but there were waffles, bagels, toast, biscuits and gravy, muffins, fruit and cold cereal. For drinks, there was orange juice and apple juice as well as milk and coffee. It was a pretty standard continental breakfast but we aren’t big breakfast eaters so there was plenty for us to choose from.

John was almost ready when we got back to the room so we ate our breakfasts and then began putting things back into the suitcases. Before we knew it, we were on our way downstairs. I left John and Hunter at the front desk to settle our bill while I went to get the SCAR. When I turned around, John and Hunter were right behind me. Wow! That was quick. I snapped a picture of the Jameson Inn right before I got behind the wheel for the last leg of our road trip.

I don’t know if it was because of the new vehicle or because the traffic was light of a combination of the two but we were through Tallahassee and on to Lake City before we knew it. I turned onto I-75 and we were going down, down, down the State of Florida. Along the way, we stopped for gas and then for lunch but didn’t linger too long because the Caribbean Beach Resort was waiting on us. And, yes, we did spot quite a few of these lovely billboards:

bare-all-lol-universal-studios--large-msg-120753111959.jpg

That’s just one example of the billboards. There were several others but they all said pretty much the same thing. And, you know what? Some were even nice enough to offer clean showers and couples were welcome. Imagine that?! To each his or her own but my door doesn’t swing that way. “Swing” get it? Sorry, lame joke. :p

I had been doing really good with need for potty breaks but when I saw a rest area ahead, I declared that I just “had to stop” and, unfortunately for us, so did two big vans/buses of teenagers. I scooted on ahead of the girls’ van otherwise I would have been waiting quite a while for a bathroom stall. While I waited on John and Hunter, I noticed this nice warning sign:

DSCF2204.jpg

I don’t know which sign scares me the most....the “nudey” billboards or the warning poisonous snake sign. :scared1:

When we reached Clermont, we could see the Citrus Tower up ahead and we knew that we didn’t have much further to drive. Hunter snapped a few pictures for me since the traffic was a little heavier.

The Presidents Hall of Fame is right beside the Citrus Tower:

Just a little further down the road is this cute little ice cream stand:

DSCF2209.jpg

And, then, we saw IT. What exactly is It? The first sign that gave the actual mileage to Disney World:

DSCF2210.jpg

Not too terribly long now! :cool1: Just gotta drive by some orange groves:

DSCF2212.jpg

DSCF2213.jpg

and a cool pick-your-own fruit stand:

DSCF2215.jpg

Apparently, it was getting hot on John’s side of the SCAR because he had his face on the air conditioner vent:

DSCF2214.jpg

Looks like somebody had been doing some serious orange picking:

DSCF2217.jpg

Look! Look! Look at what I see!

DSCF2219.jpg

When I see that sign, I know that we’ve made it. We’re there! Not really officially there, that will come a little further down the road but we used to stay on Hwy. 192 back in the day so when we see that sign, we consider our trip as done. :thumbsup2

As we neared the last exit to Walt Disney World, we began seeing the wild and wacky buildings on Hwy. 192:

I took the final exit and we were officially on Disney property!

DSCF2223.jpg

I’m not sure but I’m thinking that Heaven’s Pearly Gates are going to look a little something like this:

DSCF2224.jpg

To our right, we saw the road that leads to Hollywood Studios:

Just an exit or two later and we were pulling into the Caribbean Beach Resort. The castmember at the Guard Station looked at my I.D., checked us off the list and welcomed us home.

**Up next: Should I have left our fate up to the Disney Gods or should I have made a request?

My FIL just got one of those SCARs as well! It's really nice, but I don't like the "fob" thingy that it came with. I'm old school and like a KEY! :rotfl:

Well, Did I tell you before? But grew up in Clermont, GA. Which I know you know where that is, right? :goodvibes You know, don't blink, cause you will miss it on the drive up to Cleveland! :rotfl2: Anyway, Whenever we're driving and we see a city name that is also the name of a city in a different state we tease about "going the wrong way!" So, when we went through Clermont, FL, I "got mad" at Corey for getting us lost and taking us to Clermont, GA!
:scratchin Maybe that's not so funny to other people…

I just LOVE your TR's though. Makes me feel like I get a little vacay and I'm riding along side of ya! Especially since I was hoping to go to DWD last week myself…
