Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

They did it right, then!!! We were told if you ship the sword to your home, you are not supposed to be charged the sales tax.

:cool1: for saving $6 (I take it wherever I can get it)

I guess that I had never paid attention to the sales tax on the swords. I'm like you....I'll take that $6 savings!

I am waaaaay late to this party, but I have seen your title over and over and I finally decided to see what it was about. Can't wait to read.

I have the same race car baking pan as Lacey now has! I bake cakes and cupcakes and donate all the proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association. I was told to go into business for years but I didn't want my hobby to become a job, so in my head, donating the money to a good cause (especially one so close to my heart) keeps it a hobby. My mom is the same way with Santa. In fact now that I am older I believe in Santa more than I did as a kid lol. I just love the spirit of a kind stranger giving gifts expecting nothing in return.

Your new decorations are so nice! I love the three snowmen! So simple yet they definitely are festive! I am hopefully closing on my house at the end of this month and I am already planning on how I want to decorate it for Christmas lol.

How very very kind of you! Lacey bakes goodies for the kids' in their church or for friends. Baking supplies and cake pans can be quite pricey. Every time that Michael's would have a 50% off bakeware sale, I'd buy her something.

Thank you! I was proud of my decorations. John helped pick them out and said that he didn't want any "el' cheapo looking junk". :rotfl: Ohhhhh! I know that you're so excited about the house closing.

David would use a lathe daily if he had one, to turn his pens. How marvelous they are also building their house, that is just amazing to me! I saw many gorgeous pieces in your house I know John made! :thumbsup2

Our kids do have a lot of similar interests. Maybe one day, we'll all be at Disney at the same time and can meet each other.

John did make quite a few things that are in the pictures. He made all of the picture frames in the dining room, our dining room table out of an old barn that I used to play in as a child, the hutch in the corner was also made from an old barn and then the shelves in the kitchen which match the hutch.

Great updates!:thumbsup2

Love the caramel store in Germany!! YUM! I’m so glad we finally got a chance to visit on our last trip!

Keeping your MIL in my thoughts and prayers!

I’m glad Hunter got his sword!:)

It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! We give PJ’s on Christmas Eve as well.

Beautiful ice pictures.:thumbsup2

Thanks Angie! Isn't it hard to choose from all of the delicious looking caramel treats?

Please do keep my mother-in-law in your prayers. She's already questioning why she has to go to the doctor again in a month for a check-up. :sad2:

Welcome! Welcome! I have chapter links on the first page if you don't want to read all of the chit-chat. Please feel free to post your thoughts!

I absolutely love the look of "love" your mama has on her face. I started reading your trip report two trips ago I think. Anyway, I read along because I loved seeing the dynamic between your mom and Hunter. I love how much we can all see how much your family loves each other.

On a side note, did your nephew Will ever get off his phone?

I'd love to see what kind of snowstorms ya'll get up there. Here, we just get a bunch of ice and rain.

I'm working on my first update and it will include pictures of the snowstorm. Look for it later today (or tomorrow, if Peanut doesn't nap long enough for me to finish).

John takes napping to a whole 'nother level!

In my last installment, I left you with us playing a game of “knock knock”. Do any of you remember back in the day when you would run up to a neighbor’s house, knock on the door or ring the bell and then run off? :rolleyes1 It was so much fun! Good clean fun where the neighbors didn’t try to have you arrested or take matters into their own hands and open the door with a shotgun. The days when you came home when it got dark and not a minute sooner. The days when you could run around the neighborhood with your friends and whichever’s mother had lunch done first, you’d be invited in. Ahh, those were the days!

Anyway, back on track. We left off playing a game of “knock knock” at the door of someone who obviously wasn’t home or else they would have played along. Once we were all together again, we continued on towards the next country in World Showcase....Mexico! Mexico? Wait a minute, somewhere I missed talking about Norway! Hum, I know that we took a boat ride through the troll invested country but I don’t have any photographic evidence. What’s up with that? Oh well, we rode Maelstrom and THEN we strolled over to Mexico.

I was bound and determined that I was going to get some good pictures inside the pavilion. Every year, mine turn out dark and you can’t see a gosh darn thing. I turned my camera settings to night something-or-other (obviously, I am not up to snuff on camera terminology) and made my attempt(s):

The rest of the gang didn’t wait on me but, instead, chose to take a look around at all the things that were for sell:

I turned around and caught a glimpse of John wearing this:

He walked over to the corner and hunkered down for his afternoon siesta:

Um helllllooooo! Wake ‘em up buttercup! Now’s not the time to take napping to a whole ‘nother level!

If John didn’t have on the shorts and tennis shoes, he’d make one fine looking hombre’:

John traded his big sombrero for a tiny one:

We finished looking around the store and, noticing that the line was virtually non-existent, we decided to take a boat tour with the Three Caballeros:

Once the boat ride was done, we checked to see if the glassblower was there but he wasn’t so we just looked around a little and then left the pavilion.

**Up next: Why don’t we fry them up now and serve them with chips
?

Isn't Mama the sweetest thing ever? She loves my kids with all of her heart and seeing this smile on her face is priceless to me.

Yes, Will did eventually get off the phone. He and Ashly are my sister, Lois' kids. Because they are children of a divorce, they have multiple family functions on holidays and he was trying to get in touch with his other Mamaw and dad to coordinate a time to get together that evening. But, he did stay on it playing games too. I hate cell phones!

I'm looking forward to seeing what a real snowstorm looks like. Maybe Peanut will take a good long nap.

I love the inside of the Mexico pavillion too, and have trouble getting good pictures of it due to the lighting as well. Love that John dressed up and was "sleeping" in his borrowed clothes! :rotfl:

OMG! John had me :rotfl2: in this update! I especially love the picture of him taking a siesta in the corner. And then with the tiny sombrero! :lmao:

She did! Go check it out. :thumbsup2

When I saw the pictures of your Mama's house I had to smile...those pictures could have seriously been taken in my Grandma's house. Same wood paneling, same Interior Decorating picture of Magnolias, same green and blue plaid couch... such warm memories! :cloud9:

Is Lacy a cake decorator? Couldn't help noticing the different cake pans. My oldest DD is 13 and VERY into the Cake Boss. She got a Cake Boss cookbook and a cupcake decorating kit among other things for Christmas. It has been fun to be her guinea pigs when she tries all that stuff out on us!
:rotfl2:
Love the pictures of John in his Hombre gear...big and small sombreros. Ya'll are such a fun bunch of folks! ::yes::

Love it! Great update. Too bad he didn't get his siesta.

It's hard to get pictures to come out good inside Mexico. Even playing around with all my settings I can't get it right.

Those pictures of John are so funny!

He looks like someone who got caught with a guilty face in some of them.

He's such a hoot sometimes!

I saw the snow pictures. I'd be like this :faint: if I woke up to that.

Mama has been saying for years that she wants to change out her pictures but she hasn't done it yet. My niece is an artist so I told her to get her to paint/draw her some new ones but she won't.

Lacey does like to decorate cakes and bake too. She gets the baking from me. You need to take a picture of your daugther's next creation and post it here for us to see.

Love the Christmas pictures with the family. :goodvibes

But I have to laugh at you with the ice. You should have seen our ice storm on Sunday. :scared1:

I just love John....that man can sleep anywhere. And I really like the "small" sombrero...he looks so cute.

Love it! Great update. Too bad he didn't get his siesta.

I know that John was just kidding around this time but I could totally see him huddling up in the corner and taking a nap. :rotfl:

I never seem to get good pictures in Mexico. I envy those who do.

Those pictures of John are so funny!

He looks like someone who got caught with a guilty face in some of them.

I know! He looks like "Uh oh!" :rotfl2:
