Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Dee, I found the receipt for Hunter's sword. The sword was $95.00 and the shipping was $22.00. The receipt shows a sales tax of 6.5% but then beside it is: $0.00. ??? The total doesn't show that they charged us tax at all.

If you ship out of Florida to another state, they can't charge state sales taxes! :thumbsup2

Thats so funny that John had you take a picture of him "coming" out of the door! Such a bid kid!

He definitely is a big kid!

Love the story about your gift! You truly are a special family and I'm so proud to call you "friend". Now if only our trips would line up so we could meet face to face....

Off topic a bit...I've been following your FB posts about Hunter driving. I can feel your pain as my oldest got his license in September! It's a big step!! Now Isaiah will get his permit in May and we start all over....OY!

Keeping John's mom in my prayers.

Thank you Missy! I am proud to call you my friend as well. One day, we're going to be at the same place at the same time and I'm going give you a big old hug.

I'm thankful that we were able to pay somebody $200 to teach him to drive. Give that stress to somebody else. :rotfl:

The prayers are very much appreciated.

You are SO right!!! :thumbsup2

I believe that, it was packed for us! The girls loved it. I wanted to do it as well; however, was happy to live vicariously through them!

I've used my Christmas gift money for the last four years to pick the pearl and it feels like I am getting two gifts rolled into one.

I am as well Lisa!:hug:

Tell David that John's shop is pretty big and he's always piddling around in there even if we don't have a job going. Woodworking is calming for John.

Our house is just a single story and I'm pretty sure that when we are old, we'll thank ourselves that we don't have to climb stairs. :lmao: I took a picture of the house when we had the freezing rain and sleet. I'll see if I can find it and post it for David to see.

John's brother has a lathe but hardly even uses it. But, in his defense, they are building a house right now so he hasn't had any down time lately.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm reading your TR!!! I really enjoyed reading about your first day at Disney and your cruise. I'm sorry that you guys didn't really enjoy the cruise part. We've never been on one but we are considering it in the future.

You know you made a couple of comments about the food on the cruise. My DH has that problem with all of the food at Disney because it isn't seasoned well like we do here in Louisiana. :confused3

I'm sorry to hear about all the rude people on the cruise. It surely didn't sound Disney like!!

O.k. I'll come back soon to read more about your DIsney trip after the cruise!

Hey! Glad to have you here!

When we first came back from the cruise, we weren't sure if we would ever cruise again. But, after more thought, it's a real possibility for 2014.

Your husband is right....here in Louisiana, our food has some great seasoning to it!

Why do I think there is some policy that they don't charge the tax with the shipping? I know it is something like that, but I'm not quite sure.

Great update, Lisa. Love the photos of you ringing the bell and John just "exiting" the door. You two are so darn cute.

I can't wait to hear about the next nap. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ohhhhhh! I didn't know that!

Nap time is coming up!

If you ship out of Florida to another state, they can't charge state sales taxes! :thumbsup2

I had no idea that they didn't charge sales tax if you were shipping something. Good to know!

After Judy posted, I realized that I never got around to posting any Christmas or ice pictures. For those of you who live in areas where you get lots of snow or ice, don't you dare laugh at the lack of ice in the pictures. Here is our part of the country, if even one droplet of ice forms on the trees or electrical wires, we freak out and I break out the camera.:rotfl2:

I'll start off with some Christmas pictures. The tree pre-Santa:

I cleaned out our attic not long ago and threw away a lot of our old Christmas decorations. I have no idea why I was saving some of them. When would I ever use velvet bows that had half the velvet off of them? Or a snowman who's nose had broken off and I couldn't find it? Anyway, I splurged and went to Kirklands and bought some new things:

Jesse, Lacey and Hunter went to the Duck Commander store while they were here and they took a few pictures:

Hum, this one turned out too dark to see the decorations on our old wood stove:

Before walking over to Mama's on Christmas Eve, we took family pictures:

Even after my kids found out that there was no Santa, he continued to come to our house each and every Christmas Eve. Each kid has a section for the gifts. And, yes, I always spoil them and have the evidence to prove it. Lacey and Jesse's side:

As I said, a week or so ago (hard to believe since our high today is 72), we had freezing rain and very cold temperatures (at least for us). While John and I both had to work, I did get off a little early one day. I wandered outside and took some pictures:

I'm loving your holiday gifts and pictures! Your tree is gorgeous too! Your house looks so perfect in style for the holidays.

the ice pictures are beautiful!

Love your home photos, Lisa! Are the berries on the trees edible? Your kids did have a great Christmas this year!!

Dee, I found the receipt for Hunter's sword. The sword was $95.00 and the shipping was $22.00. The receipt shows a sales tax of 6.5% but then beside it is: $0.00. ??? The total doesn't show that they charged us tax at all. There were quite a few swords and daggers that weren't as pricey but Hunter had a little extra money to spend. And, the sword that he picked out was pretty big and it was heavy so that probably had something to do with the cost of the shipping.

They did it right, then!!! We were told if you ship the sword to your home, you are not supposed to be charged the sales tax.

:cool1: for saving $6 (I take it wherever I can get it)

What happy& warm Christmas pictures! I enjoy spoiling my kiddos too, but I'm running outta room with all of Kadence's toys!

Your ice pictures are beautiful! I love winter, SORRY! I DO:goodvibes and I think there isn't too much more beautiful than new snow & ice on trees.

I hope John's Mom will do better soon!

Wow, those are some lucky kids you have there. Santa has been so generous with them! ;)

Your "ice" pictures have inspired me. I think I'll post a picture of the snowstorm we had just before we left for Disney. :lmao:

I have the same race car baking pan as Lacey now has! I bake cakes and cupcakes and donate all the proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association. I was told to go into business for years but I didn't want my hobby to become a job, so in my head, donating the money to a good cause (especially one so close to my heart) keeps it a hobby. My mom is the same way with Santa. In fact now that I am older I believe in Santa more than I did as a kid lol. I just love the spirit of a kind stranger giving gifts expecting nothing in return.

Your new decorations are so nice! I love the three snowmen! So simple yet they definitely are festive! I am hopefully closing on my house at the end of this month and I am already planning on how I want to decorate it for Christmas lol.

Tell David that John's shop is pretty big and he's always piddling around in there even if we don't have a job going. Woodworking is calming for John.
David's Dream! He has some tools, if only we had a place for him to get them out and work. Woodworking is also calming for David.
Our house is just a single story and I'm pretty sure that when we are old, we'll thank ourselves that we don't have to climb stairs. :lmao: I took a picture of the house when we had the freezing rain and sleet. I'll see if I can find it and post it for David to see.
I would LOVE a single story and I am fairly certain that David was envisioning that. I can't wait to show him the pics, he will love it. And Rachel is going to love that Mandolin, she wants one and a Banjo. One of these days! I couldn't believe all of the things in the pics I saw that my children like, our children would get along great I think. I LOVED all of the fun Christmas pics, as well as your new decor! I think it is marvelous you are able to keep the fun of Santa alive and that they had so much obvious fun with it all. And your family is so close!! How marvelous! Our "ice event" on Friday didn't even give us frozen trees...well, just barely! You definitely had more, though our streets were a nightmare. Carolyn's hats were cute (as was Beaker, can't show Rachel :lmao:) and your Mom's tree looked like she had a lot of Chrismon Ornaments on it...of course, my old eyes could have been playing tricks on me. Both of your trees were beautiful!

John's brother has a lathe but hardly even uses it. But, in his defense, they are building a house right now so he hasn't had any down time lately.

David would use a lathe daily if he had one, to turn his pens. How marvelous they are also building their house, that is just amazing to me! I saw many gorgeous pieces in your house I know John made! :thumbsup2

Great updates!:thumbsup2

Love the caramel store in Germany!! YUM! I’m so glad we finally got a chance to visit on our last trip!

Keeping your MIL in my thoughts and prayers!

I’m glad Hunter got his sword!:)

It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! We give PJ’s on Christmas Eve as well.

Beautiful ice pictures.:thumbsup2

I'm loving your holiday gifts and pictures! Your tree is gorgeous too! Your house looks so perfect in style for the holidays.

the ice pictures are beautiful!

Thank you! Every year, my Christmas tree has a different "theme". This year was fishing and camping. I even hung little fish bobbers on the tree.

Come on out and join in on the conversation!

Love your home photos, Lisa! Are the berries on the trees edible? Your kids did have a great Christmas this year!!

Nope they aren't edible. But, the birds and squirrels sure do love them.

I understand completely about running out of room. When Lacey got married, Hunter moved into her room but kept half of his stuff in his old room.

I'd enjoy Winter more if we had pretty snow. If we ever do get snow, it's slushy, mushy stuff.

We talked with John's Mama last night and she said that she's feeling a bit better but that her right side feels heavy which is to be expected.

Wow, those are some lucky kids you have there. Santa has been so generous with them! ;)

Your "ice" pictures have inspired me. I think I'll post a picture of the snowstorm we had just before we left for Disney. :lmao:

I always always overbuy for Christmas but it brings me such joy!

I'd love to see what kind of snowstorms ya'll get up there. Here, we just get a bunch of ice and rain.
