Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

So sorry to hear about John's mother. Sending positive thoughts and prayers her way!

How close does she live to you?

Thank you! John's parents live about 50 miles or so from us. Not a long way away. John and his parents' relationship is odd. At times, they will talk almost every day and then they will take something that was said the wrong way and they won't talk for a while. They are strange birds. The relationship is going strong right now and has been for a while so I'm hoping that we can convince her to follow doctor's orders.

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope she gets better.

Thank you Mel!

Oh that's sad. Definately not the same. Looks like Hunter is going to have to find a new treat. Has he ever tried those drinks with the marbles inside at Japan? My oldest collects glasses and bottles and he loved them. Figuring out how to open it for the first time is a real challange and part of the fun.

I've never seen those drinks!? Do you know what they are called?

I do! I do!!!

Here's a picture

We got this bottle at a Japanese Hibachi place, and like tink, we didn't know how to open it. Now they sell them at our grocery store with the store-made sushi.

Can you see the marble?

Oh how cool! So they sell these in Japan? If they do, I wanna get one!

Yes! That's it.

Yes, they sell them at 2 different places in Japan. At a kiosk outside and inside the store. Check the coolers for a cold one.

That's very cool you collect glasses and bottles too

Praying for your MIL.

I forget when I last commented. Your treats look so yummy! I would not have shared. Nope.

Hope John's mom is doing okay and gets the treatment/care she needs.

Awesome updates! I couldn't imagine where the story about the ugly hairy guy was going, but I'm happy it was about an oyster.

Score!!!

I watched the Pick a Pearl during the class trip in June. What a fun ceremony! The gals do a really great job getting everyone excited.

I did Pick-A-Pearl at Sea World, like 20 years ago. I still haven't set the pearls I got. I'm not a big jewelry gal.

Congrats on not losing a tooth! Your treat looked super yummy. What a good sharer you are!

Finally- thanks for sharing the story about Jesse's dad. We are all blessed to have people like him in the world.

Knock knock! Who’s there? Me! Me who? Mickeystoontown that’s who!

We left Germay licking the caramel and gummies off our fingers and savoring every last sticky morsel. If you've never stopped in Germany for their treats, you need to add it to your list of "must haves". Delish! ::yes::

When we reached the Outpost, we stopped to watch the gentleman who was carving an animal out of a pretty piece of wood. John asked several questions and I interpreted for him. John's hearing isn't the best so, oftentimes, I will stand around and repeat things to him so that he doesn't have to keep asking "huh?" or "what?" or "pardon?" :listen: John loves any type of woodworking and he and the carver spoke about the types of wood that he used, how long it took to finish a piece, etc.

After our chat, we continued our trek and ended up in China. The buildings in this area are so pretty!

For many years now, Hunter has purchased a sword from the store in China so he, Jesee and John went ahead and started looking at the selection. I snapped one more picture before heading in myself.

I found the guys looking at the sword display cases and I immediately noticed that the prices from the year before had gone up substantially. Hunter had more than enough money to purchase one but he also didn't want to spend every dime that he had on just one sword. I left them with a castmember who was helping them look at the ones that interested Hunter.

I set off to find Lacey who was looking around at the various items for sale. She was looking for something for Jesse's mother and had found a pretty butterfly pin. Jesse's mother likes butterflies but Lacey wasn't sure that she would wear the pin so we looked around some more. In the end, she didn't find anything that she was 100% sure of even though there was a lot to chose from.

When we got back to the guys, Hunter had narrowed down the choices to two swords but was having trouble deciding. Since Lacey and I had just walked in on the conversation, he asked which one we liked and we both liked the same one. Hunter said that was his favorite too so he went with that one. If you purchase a sword, you don't walk away with it right then. They have to ship it to your home. We paid, filled out the shipping slip and were given a receipt.

The boys hadn't had a chance to look at the rest of the store so they looked around a bit while John and I walked outside. I spotted a set of stairs that led to a door and I had to investigate.

Knock knock! Who's there? Me! Me who? Mickeystoontown that's who!

John wanted me to take his picture and make it look like he had just come out of the building:

The rest of the gang found us a little while later and we started our walk towards the last country in World Showcase. Mexico!

**Up next: John takes napping to a whole 'nother level!

First of all, prayers to your MIL! I hope the neurologist finds whats wrong and it can be easily corrected!

Secondly, I agree that China has some beautiful buildings!! I always spend a while in their stores as they have so many nice things, and I always get my BIL a dragon from there as he loves dragons and they have so many! I have never seen that door though. Cute pictures with it! :goodvibes

China is one of my favorite pavilion, along with Morocco.

OMG, if my step-daughter had seen that door, she would have tried to open it for sure! She became obsessed with what she called "the door in the wall".

Awesome update.

Thank you!

Prayers for Johns mom

Thanks Jen!

The girls at the Pick a Pearl station really do get into the ceremony (if that's what you would call it) I'm not a girly girl but I do like my jewelry even if most of it isn't real just costume jewelry. I get that from my Mama.

The caramel treat was absolutely devine! Loved it!

Jesse's dad is such a sweetheart. If you were to just look at him, you'd never know that he has such a soft heart. He's covered in tattoos, rides a motorcycle, etc. He's a true inspiration.

Thanks Steph!

They do have a lot of really neat things in the China pavilion. I bought my niece a tea set there one year for Christmas and she loved it.

If you are leaving the store, the steps and doorway are outside just a little ways and on the right.

Hope John's mom is doing okay and gets the treatment/care she needs.

The candy was pretty large and it was hot outside so I was okay with sharing. I knew that I couldn't eat it all anyways.

I hope that John's Mama follows the doctor's orders but I do have my doubts.:worried:

I think it's cool that John and the woodcarver had a nice chat (with your help, of course)

Really beautiful pictures from China! Thanks for sharing about the door. I have never seen that before. I love all of the little details at Disney.

Oh, my, my sons better not find out about the swords. They would so want that as a souvenir. My youngest son likes to get the wooden rifles from Adventure land when we are at MK.

Did you have to pay the Florida sales tax on the sword? I have been told that if you ship the item to home, you don't need to pay the sales tax. Now I don't know if that depends on the tax laws in your state. But we have found that not having to pay the sales tax helps defray the cost of shipping (somewhat)

So John takes napping to a whole new level? I'm picturing him sleeping at the top of the pyramid.

That's funny. It's opposite for me and dh. I swear we are always in on two totally different conversations. He is always "translating" for me.

That's a shame the swords went up in price so much. I've noticed that with alot of the merchandise lately.

Glad he found one of his liking and was able to afford it.

I wondered about how you'd get it out of the park.

I was waiting for you to say someone opened the door, lol.

**Up next: John takes napping to a whole 'nother level!

Speaking of napping, there is a nice ledge at the side of the Giggle Gang show where John can nap too ;)

I will keep John's MIL in my prayers. Did they do doppler studies of the arteries? The little strokes is what my mom had. I wish they'd have caught them earlier. I believe that is what led to my mom's dementia.

LOVE Germany! That caramel store is not good for the hips!:faint:
So sad to learn Hunter won't be able to get his giant gummy bear any more.

Thank you for telling the "trick" to picking a good oyster. Taking my DD this summer and I will be sure to pass that one along. Every year she wants to do a Pick A Pearl. I've not given in before, but maybe, just maybe!

Fun updates!

Sorry to hear about John's mom. I hope that she's doing better soon.

Love the China photos, especially the close ups of the buildings. They're so beautiful!

I'm glad Hunter got his sword. He must have quite a collection now!
