I was reading on Dave's DCL Tribute site that it listed ages with the shore excursions. How strict are these? I have a 3yr. old dd and 10 mo. ds. It seems like there is almost nothing to do with those age children except go to the beach.
Very strict. On our first cruise our children were 4 and 18 months, and the only thing we could do were the beach excursions. Most of the excursions that have an age limit for children above 3 are only for children of that age, children below that age limit aren't even allowed to go. I was told by DCL that it's for insurance purposes. So, even for our next cruise, our kids will be 6 and 3, we still won't be able to do any snorkling excursions unless we leave the kids on board. Now, a lot of the independent tour companies located in each port sometimes will take people of all ages, but you'll have to book with them directly, not with DCL.
Y2KMom, I think we'll be on the same cruise (9/13 Western) with our 3 kids, ages 4,3 and 4 months. Also in our party will be my niece (4) and nephew(14 months). We have reserved the Seaworld Explorer Semisubmarine in Grand Cayman, which is suitable for all ages. There are 2 semi-sub excursions in GC and another in Cozumel. Although my ds's (4&3) are good swimmers, we wanted something that everyone can enjoy together. Hope this helps! Not long now!
coconutty,
Hey we are on the same cruise
I wanted to do the land and sea tour at Grand Caymon, but it says 5 and up. I really wanted to take my dd to the turtle farm, my Mom thinks she will enjoy it. Thanks for the tip and I will see you in a few weeks.
