We had golden retrievers growing up, and they were the kindest, gentlest dogs. Great with kids. If we ever decide to get a dog, it will probably be a golden. :)

Boxers-mine is the sweetest, most loyal dog and he loves to play with the kids.

That's hard. We had a Golden Retriever named Sam that we dearly loved but he left this life way too early. And we do like the gigantic boxer and hound dogs next door. There was CT, Joe's dog, a lab and something else mix that joined us when we got married. We can't leave out Kirby, a blue heeler and Dixie, black lab, our current dogs. Then there was Rags, a beagle/dachshund mix. And my first dog, Frisky, a Heinz 57.

Let's just say I like short haired dogs over long haired. And they must be big enough to stay outside. The small ones tend to get eaten by owls, coyotes and bob cats around here.

I prefer cats....but have had 2 dogs that we loved (they are just so much more work).
A Pomeranian and a black lab mix.
I wouldn't get another dog.

I like german sheperds. We had two twin boys, until one day one of them decided to wander around, and had gotten poisoned :(. He died on Thanksgiving day :(. Then the brother died of old age.

Do you like to drink tropical drinks? Ones with umbrellas, and pineapples? If so, what is your favorite?

Yes. My favorite is a pina colada from the Tambu Lounge. So good. :drinking:

I get an umbrella in my baby Blue Rasberry shaved ice at Bahama Bucks.

To finish off the question from a couple of days ago about Italian food. I ate Tortellini El Parron. I think that I spelled that correctly. Anyway, it was good. I would eat it again but would order a salad to go with it. And a slice of cheese cake for later.

I love tropical drinks, that's one of my treats when I'm on vacation. Don't usually drink them when I'm at home. I love any type of coladas, had a wildberry colada when we were in Myrtle Beach at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. Very good!!

We are greyhound addicts. We have 2 at the moment, and will always have at least one hounding us.
As for tropical drinks, I enjoy Pina Coladas, but seldom have one.

Do you have an advent calendar now or as a child?

*I had started putting together an advent calendar with my daughter now for around two or three years, and she is looking forward to it. Since she is in school, it does get harder to come up with ideas since we do not have much time each day to do things. But, we do the following, and more each year...I am open to hearing any suggestions if you have any on activities that I can do with her-she is seven, and I am going to make a seperate one for my son who is three.

*Art projects, craft projects, watch Christmas movies, drink hot chocolate, work on Christmas card and thank you cards, she gets to open a few presents early, she receives a special ornament to put onto the tree, we make a gingerbread house, bake cookies, eat popcorn, string popcorn for her little pine tree that she has decorated outside, drive around to look at Christmas lights, go to see Christmas decorations, sing Christmas songs, ....and we do other things as well.

I burn an advent candle at home now and I have 2 advent calendars in my classroom at work, one with chocolates in and one where you stick a piece of the nativity scene on the background each day.

I have the Disney advent calendars. :lmao: Changed desks at work. And now not really any place to put much of anything extra. So doubtful I will bother with it this year....

not as a child, but always have for my kids.......still do.
I have a Disney one here for me (well AZ  ). DD took the cross stitch one I made when they were small.
They always get chocolate ones, this year Costco had the cutest 3 piece wood "village" advent....actually houses. I got them each one of those and filled the doors with candy. That is what we will use every year for them now.
DD also gets one of the ones from Germany pavilion.

I'm way behind, too!
Do you like eatting pancakes, and waffles for breakfast?
Not all the time, but yes! And the kids love getting pancakes or french toast for dinner. I just looked up a recipe for pumpkin pancakes the other day to make.
Todays QOTD was thought of by my daughter, and it is-

What is your most favorite type of dog-(breed)?
I love the large breeds. We have a boxer, but I keep trying for an Old English Sheepdog. (Nana from Peter Pan!). DH just isn't coming around. :goodvibes

I do like the sweet drinks! Pina Coladas, margaritas.

Do you have an advent calendar now or as a child?
I've bought the boys the Lego and Playmobile advent calanders for years. This year is Lego City. But I have a house from LLBean that's an advent calendar. The doors and drawers aren't very big, but I can fit a few pieces of candy in each one.

I'm not sure if you would call it an advent calendar but we had a calendar where we moved a mouse from pocket to pocket as each day went by. There wasn't any room for anything but the mouse. I had one just like it for my kids.
