Well, I'm not really sure. I've never had a green thumb, but since we live in a more temperate climate, I think it would be fun to try a garden. I also want to plant some fruit trees.

You could try different herbs. How about a lemon tree? I am now testing out a lemon bar recipe.

Do you have a garden, and if so, what do you have planted in it?

I have a vegetable garden that's dormant right now. We did not plant Fall vegetables due to the drought. I didn't pull up my tomato plants, they are still alive, mostly leafless and not producing.

I have a rose garden that's not looking good, all due to the drought. We did receive an inch of rain overnight with more expected today.

I hope your drought is over soon.

I am lucky since we are able to garden year around. Yesterday, I picked cherry tomatoes, beans, and my first orange tomato.

I also have mint, Thai dragon chilis, baby bok choy, eggplant, green onions, chives...and different flowers. Picked some sunflowers this morning to put into the house.

I will soon have to change my garden flag to a Fall/Thanksgiving one :).

Since it is getting cold it is time to take out those jackets, and coats. So todays QOTD is.... how many jackets, coats, and sweaters do you own? Do you have certain ones that are holiday related? Ones that are sports related? Ones just for the snow? Everyday jackets/cardigans....?

We have a hall closet FULL of coats and jackets. My long wool coat to wear to work is in there, oldest DD's 'letterman' jacket is in there, DH's Carhart jacket, DH's Highway Patrol coats and jackets, youngest DD's peacoat, along with windbreakers, etc., and a small wire basket on the floor full of gloves and hats and scarves. If you cannot find it in there, you're out of luck! :rotfl:

Since we live in a tropical area, we do not need many coats, jackets..... I do have a few different cartigans....

The first time I needed a heavy jacket was when we had visited Las Vegas, and it was in the month of November. We didn't know what to expect, and had to go to the store to buy gloves, and a heavy jacket. I have never owned a scarf.

I know we all must do housework....washing the laundry, cooking meals for our family, and doing other things around the house. But has anyone here ever hire someone to come, and do any of these things for you?

If not, and if you were to hire a housekeeper to come, and do three things in your house, what three things would you choose for them to do for you?

I've never hired a housekeeper. If someone were to come help me, I would probably ask them to help with the laundry, dishes and picking up toys.

Never had a housekeeper either. If one were to come here, I would ask them to dust, iron, and vacuum.

I have three coats for varying degrees of cold weather. I also have several sweaters/cardigans for not so cold weather. None are holiday related.

I've never had someone come in to clean my house but if I did, I'd want them to dust, clean the bathrooms and vacumn. But if I could only have them do one thing, I would have them dust. That's one chore that just doesn't get done too often around my house.

Rice.....how often do you eat rice? What type of rice do you like? Do you have any rice recipes to share?

I don't eat rice much. But when I do, its usually white rice with chicken soup(made into a gravy) and tuna fish mixed together. Its really good.

We eat white rice on the average about once a week, sometimes more, depends on what I fix.

I haven't found a brown rice that I like.

I do like to eat fried rice when I eat Chinese food and the rice that goes with Mexican food.

We eat white rice on a daily basis. I do not like brown rice, or wild rice. We also make fried rice at our house.

Do you use candles in your house? If so, are they scented? Do you have a favorite brand? Have you ever tried using flameless candles?

Yeah we have candles in the house. Most have a spicy scent to them because that's what we all like. For example, pumpkin spice, apple pie, cinnamon. :goodvibes There's no particular brand that I like more than others but the more expensive candles usually smell better than say they dollar store ones lol. Never tried useing a flameless candle but would.

I have a candle lit every day. I like Yankee Candles best, but will burn anything that smells good. I usually burn candles for the season, like right now I have a fall scent, Harvest, burning. Soon I will be burning Christmas-time scents, and so on and so forth. I haven't done flameless candles. Do they have a scent?
