For Halloween, do trick or treaters come to your house? If so, what are you giving to them? What was your most memorable treat that you had received as a child?

Yes, we love trick or treaters in our neighborhood. Most people sit in their driveways waiting for the kids. We usually give out full size candy bars.

As for most memorable when I was kid...To be honest, I loved it when I received chocolate. I mostly received hard candy in my neighborhood, so when a piece of chocolate was given I was on cloud nine. :cloud9:

Music? Classic R&B, Pop

Halloween? We live in a development, so definitely have kids trick or treating. There used to be so many, but they've all grown up and not too many new families have moved in, so it's less and less every year. I give out candy--has to be chocolate! I want anything left over to be something we'd eat. :goodvibes

Favorites as a child? Full sized candy bars. :goodvibes Too many kids here for me to do that, tho. HATED popcorn balls. Just didn't like them, so it was always a bummer to see them. With my kids, I hated the drinks. Either they wanted to drink them right away, and ended up ruining the costume or we had to lug them around all night and they're heavy!

We get no trick or treaters. But I usually fix a little bucket of candy for our neighbor - just whatever we buy for ourselves. I don't really remember any stand out treats from childhood, but I used to love how all out my parents went for the holiday - dry ice in a witch's cauldron on the front porch, etc.

No trick or treaters come by here for the most part. Every couple of years we might get one or two but that's it.

I don't remember what kind of candy was my favorite but the peanut butter one, I don't recall the name, it's white with brown stripes with peanut butter in the middle.

My favorite thing about Halloween was the dressing up and running around with my friends. And the darker and windyer (sp?) it was, the better. That made it more spooky.

We don't get trick or treaters. There are only a handful of kids in our neighborhood, including mine, and we all go to different places to trick or treat. I might make my daughter's 2 friends some little treat this year though, and our neighbors always hook up my kiddos! :goodvibes

My fav treat from being a kiddo? When our old neighbor gave out handfuls of pennies- I thought I was rich for sure! :lmao:

I live in a hugh development (over 3000 homes) it encompasses 2 countys and we are lucky to get 20 kids. I give out candy that I know John will eat (see my list a few pages back).

My favorite when I was a kid, an older gentelman gave out packages of Archway cookies.

I'm giving out bags of chips, with pencils attached to them. We live in a area with lots of kids. Last year we had close to 40. With more kids moving into the area, there may be even more this year. I've got a cardboard pirate skeleton I'm taping to the front door, and will probably have at least 4 to 8 pumpkins outside (depending how creative I'm feeling and if I can get some oddball shaped pumpkins). There is a local farmer across town that I buy them from ever year, as I believe in supporting the local farmers as much as I can, and try to buy locally grown produce as much as I can during the summer months.

No. When I was in Cozumel in 2001 we when to a place that had a swim with the dolphins program. We could clearly tell that the animals were being poorly treated. While they were feeding the Dolphins dead fish, there was schools of fish just outside their enclosure. One male Delphin tried repeatedly to escape by ramming it's body into the enclosure net. Because of the inhumane treatment of these animals, I won't support the industry. I would rather have a natural encounter with them.

I always think I want to swim with dolphins, but I have a fear of animals so it will never happen.

(and for thoes wondering why I am staying at AKV, well we will be on the 5th or 6th floor and the animals can't reach me up there. :teeth:)

I would love to swim with dolphins. I've always had a deep love for them, and find them amazing. Someday maybe I'll get to go to Discovery Cove. Sounds like a great program.

I think that it would be fun but would only do it in a facility where they were treated well.

I would love to swim with dolphins!!! We have dolphin tours down at Myrtle Beach which is only an hour away from us, but we've never taken one. Maybe next year! You can't swim with them, but you can watch them in their native habitat.

Today is Talk Like A Pirate Day, so if you were a pirate, what would your pirate name be, and what type of treasure other than money would you like to find?

Took the kids to the Miami Zoo this past weekend and we all had a blast together with my mom. It was me, DH, DD, DS with my mom which doesn't happen very often as my sis's family is usually around too. So, it was nice for us to just get to spend time with her. :)
