Anyone ever done a walk up to Chief Mickey's for breakfast and if so, any success? We have done that to several places during past years and have never been turned away. Sometimes the wait is longer than others, but we have always been seated.

I am just curious about Chief Mickey’s. We arrived almost 1 hour late one time and were seated pretty quickly, but we did have an ADR. We are just kicking around the idea of showing up and seeing what happens.

I can imagine the place is going to be that crowded, I think there are just too many folks that make multiple reservations for the same time just so they have options.

We have walked up to Chef Mickey's and gotten in before, but we've also been turned away. We've been most successful by arriving at the start of dinner or breakfast. With so many folks doing the dining plan these days, I bet most folks are really showing up for their ADR's.

We walked up during the xmas holidays and were seated. I guess it was luck.

It can happen but its rare these days. If you have kids, I would suggest you send one of the adults up to check, if you don't get in that could be really upsetting to them!

The last few times I have been to Chef Mickey's they have been turning away people right and left.

Thanks for the responses, we assumed it would be hit or miss, but I think we are going to give it a shot. We will be early, hopefully before a big crowd.

I appreciate you sharing your experiences.

I would suggest going right when breakfast starts. Many people make early ADR's have every intention of keeping them and then that alarm goes off and they just say "Forget it!". I read about it in the dining reviews a lot! That would seem to me to be the best time to try to get in, anytime before 8:30 or so, the earlier the better!

We walked up over the summer once and were seated within about 5 minutes. It was awesome:thumbsup2

We just turned up also for breakfast, right at the beginning. We were there for 21 nights and before we left we arrived tried to book for any meal there and just could not get a reservation and we would call daily whilst there for a cancellation with no luck. So we just turned up one morning and we were sitting at the table in about 5 minutes.

A few years ago my family and I walked into Chef Mickey's for dinner and waited around 35-40 minutes for a table, which sounds like a good time without an ADR and knowing how popular a location it is. Although back then the DDP was not as popular as it is today, so going without an ADR is not the best idea.

I did get in once in May.Tried again in both Sept and December( could not get an adr)arrived first thing and got turned away.Hit or miss really.I agree with pp about sending an adult to check it out.I saw a few kids in tears because they got turned away.

Last year we were able to walk up and get seated. This year, I tried to get a ressie early and couldn't get one and no openings available when I checked into the hotel and had to get my list o' adr's.

Only place we tried to walk up was Biergarten and was successful!
