ethical place to get clipart

Hi Everyone, I am interested in playing around trying to create stuff. I have been googling the images I want, then it occured to me that that may not be very nice to others who have actually colored, drawn or created the images. So, to all of you who do these marvelous creative designs., Would it be ethical for me to use images I find on the web to create designs for my own use. I would never sell (I'm sure no one would want to pay anyway...I am NOT creative). It would just be something I could play around with at my leisure to keep me busy & maybe use for our disney trips. I don't have photoshop or anything like that so, it certainly isn't anything "professional" I would be making.

I noticed yesterday that my user name can be googled and my images come up. If you find any of mine, I don't post clip art so only my DISigns appear. Hopefully NOBODY would take to use but there have been enough etsy and ebay problems to raise concern.

If it is clip art only, I don't see how it could be much of an issue since the person posted it to a site for people to use somehow And Disney's images are copyrighted so how can someone claim that they own it?

I wouldn't want a DISign to be slightly modified and someone to take credit for it as their own.....especially if I can recognize it as mine and it's modified in a way I wouldn't be proud of. Or a background color simply removed and suddenly someone else feels free to call it theirs.

Find plain clip art rather than someone's DISign and I say use it!!

Especially if you are DISigning for your own use....

If I find a unique image (like a drawing rather than a clip art piece) I try to credit the creator of that image. Clip art (as PP said) is meant to be used, so why not use it! Especially if you're not profiting from the DISigns.

Marion, you have made so many beautiful things for me, I know how hard you work on your disigns, that is exactly why I would not want to unintentionally steal anyones work. ...well obviously I wouldn't intentionally steal it either.
