Hi
I'm going down this xmas and while I'll be havin fun, I will miss my NFL football games.

Does anyone know if the ESPN bar shows ALL NFL games on Sunday? I really only care about one team but I won't say cuz you might bash me :badpc:

:rotfl2:

Well, I would think that they would show the GOOD teams (like the STEELERS), but who knows about teams like the Cleveland Browns???? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(all in good fun)

Honestly, I don't know. Hopefully, someone else can give you the answer.

I think they show quite a few different ones...anytime we have tried to go on a Sunday it has been packed!!

I can't say for sure about the football teams... I usually go down in the summer and am looking for the baseball games. However, I can tell you that not all baseball games are shown. ESPN club is exactly that - ESPN...(ABC affiliate?) if a competing channel has rights to the game, it will not be shown. So, you can find out ahead of time who is broadcasting the game and determine if the ESPN club will be able to broadcast the game or not.

I go every year in Oct/Nov and spend part of my Sunday watching the Cowboys. ESPN shows every game somewhere in the bar (Lots of TV's everywhere). Go early if you want a seat at a table or bar. Watch out for the Eagle fans. They're always causing trouble but I'd be angry too if my team always choked. :teeth:

They have one room with about 16 screens stacked up in a square (4x4) I think. But, I doubt they could show all games, especially ones that are on CBS! They also show plenty of other sports at the same time--horse racing, golf, tennis, auto racing, etc.

I am an Eagles fan and I know everyone hates us! Haha. But I am going down in the fall and my boyfriend and I were planning to go to ESPN for Monday night football... is it shown?

they will show your game. if it is not on, just ask. they will show games on all hte networks. remember they are a bar. and they have access to all games, just like any other bar. they do not show exclusively espn and affiliate shows.

I didn't know you could ask them to change the station, I figured what's on is what you get. Thanks for the info, now I don't have to watch the hot-dog eating championship on ESPN2!

They only show a select number of games, like the NY JETS! :cool1:

J-E-T-S...suck, suck, suck! :teeth:

Got to love the internet...where else can a Fin fan living in Manhattan razz a Jet Fan living in California?!?!

They typically show all of the games and from what I hear, they will sometimes change the channel if you ask real nice. They also show pay per view events like Boxing for free. We were at the ESPN Zone and watched Lennox Lewis win the Heavyweight title. I do suggest that you get there early, because trhe tables fill up fast on Sunday morning and do not turn very often.

I loved watching that contest. Those skinny people that are winning just amaze me.

We go there frequently to watch the games on Sunday (can't miss my black 'n gold). Everyone is right--it fills up fast on Sunday, but if you're there by noon, you shouldn't have a problem getting a table.
Every time we've been, they ask you at the door if you want to see a particular game and then they'll seat you near a tv airing your game. If you notice, they have labels on a lot of the tvs around the restaurant with the corresponding game shown on that screen. For that reason, I think there are a lot of the tvs that that won't switch to a different channel if asked.
There is always one game on the big screen (I don't know how they decide this game--probably just fan favorites or "the game of the week"--sorry it probably won't EVER be the Brownies :) ).

Hope this helps. Have a great time. We always love watching games here. The pre-game stuff they do in the main room before the Sunday games really gets you into the football mood.

Last July, the bartenders at ESPN told me otherwise, but maybe they were just blowing smoke... after all, who wanted to watch the cardinals last year!!! It's not like they were actually a good team - I'm guessing no one would want to watch them this year either - I mean, they're doing so bad, there's no way that they'll ever make it past the regular season!!! :rotfl2:

I couldn't decide between that and the Scrabble Championship on the deuce. Good thing I have a DVR! :rotfl2:

I you can find the number, call shortly before you leave or once you arrive. Just for grins, take the name of the person you talk to and act like you've planned ahead when you walk in. They will try to accommodate you -- provided it's possible.

We were told by the manager when DH and I were there in November that the ESPN club gets their games from Direct TV and they show all games regardless of affliate. Both times DH and I went this year, CBS carried the Pittsburgh Steeler game and both times shown on the big TV in the bar. So it doesn't matter what network has it that week.
