Escaping the New England winter! Feb 2011 (Completed!)

Reading about when you got me my Vinylmation makes me upset all over again that I never gave you your present! It's currently residing in the trunk space of my car b/c I don't trust myself to bring it inside and not misplace it. At least if it's in my car and I'm driving it around, I have a chance of getting it to you.

I've never done Ellen's Energy Adventure. I'm still traumatized by Stitch's Great Escape, so I have to ask, are you harnessed in even though it's really not a wild ride?

The koi pond is so cool! Charles LOVES koi ponds and would kill to have one of his own.

I love Illuminations, not as much as I love Wishes, but I do love it.

Was the DIS meet with MeMom, Jill and the girls? I'm all confused b/c I read about your meet on their report a while ago.

:rotfl: Don't worry about it! I would've forgotten your present if Sarah wasn't in the car

Nope. It's like the Great Movie Ride. Basically the same ride vehicles except bigger.

I loved looking at the koi pond!

I definitely love Wishes more, but I forgot how awesome Illuminations was!

Yup :yay: Yeah it's taken me a while to get there  It was their first day and my 4th so they got to it before me. And I'm slow. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Good to know Ellen's Energy Adventure basically has the same ride vehicles as GMR...I reallyyyyy couldn't handle being restrained again like that!

I kinda thought that your DIS meet WAS MeMom and Jill, then I started second-guessing and wondering if it was another DIS'er.

Illuminations is great. I need to watch it again b/c the last time I watched it was my last night and I was super depressed!

Then it was finally time for Soarin! :woohoo:

My very favorite ride! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on meeting the crazy family at Wilderness Lodge.

I'd be up for sitting out on that balcony in the beauty of WL again tonight. How about you? :)

That crazy family was pretty awesome ;)

Me too. I miss WL!

I'm sooo sorry I haven't updated in a while. Senior year is coming to an end, which means a lot of craziness  I had my senior project presentation today. I passed :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:  It's a graduation requirement so that was a HUGE relief. I have to go get cavities filled in a little while. Presentation and dentist on the same day?! :headache: I might update tonight but I'm exhausted so I may not get to it. If I don't do it tonight I may not get to it until Monday. Tomorrow is my best friend's birthday and also prom. We're not going to prom, but we're going to after prom. We're going to see the new Pirates movie after school, which seems more fun to us than prom :rotfl: The After prom goes until 5 AM(I may not make it that long though ) so I'll be like this on saturday :faint: On Sunday I'm going to my dad's house and to a concert in Boston, then I'm staying at his house and hanging out with my cousin on Monday AKA Senior skip day :cool1: I have 10 days left of classes, then 3 exams, 2 days of graduation rehearsal, and then I graduate on June 12  :scared1:

I promise I'll update as soon as life calms down :faint:

I was a month behind on your report! :sad2:

At this point, I looked to my right and my mom was standing right next to me. I was wondering why she hadn't said anything. I looked at her for a second and said "Mom?" She almost jumped out of her skin :rotfl: Apparently she didn't notice I was there. She had come over to the railing to look for me down below and didn't notice that she stood right next to me :lmao:

:rotfl: Love that story!!! Soooo funny!

I just picked random answers for this one. We ended up living on some snowy mountain and my mom apparently broke her arm when we were skiing and there was an avalanche. Her arm was healed by a robotic dog :rotfl:

That is a crazy future! I've never head that one before. :rotfl2: I think I might have to go the "pick a random answer" future next time.

Great updates - I hope everything goes smoothly with these last few weeks of school for you!!!

That's funny, Kailyn is not going to her prom (she was going to but then decided not to, I guess), and is going to see Pirates instead. I commented on this on Facebook but we're seeing in 3D tonight! My friend's friend got tickets to a pre-screening last week and invited me to go, but...I didn't b/c I had promised Charles. Anyway, she said it was awesome. I'm really excited to see it!

Oh, and I just saw the post about your future again, with the robotic healing dog -- Kailyn and I got that! It was one of the times that she chose a different language (German or Japanese) so we of course had NO clue what it was saying, but that was what came up for us!

/
Sounds like a fun weekend! Let me know how how the Pirates movie is! I'm on the fence about seeing it so I wanna hear people's opinions before I spend $13 dollars.

It was a very strange future :rotfl:

Thank you!

I heard from a lot of people that our prom was awful but everyone(including me) loved after prom. Who's the smart one? :rotfl:

Hi everyone! Last weekend was a ton of fun but I've been doing school work non stop ever since. They're piling it all on at the last minute. Between now and the end of next week I have to do a research paper, two essays, two worksheets, two take home exams, a review packet, and three quizzes :faint: I'll be done with classes on Friday...but then I have exams :scared1: I have to keep reminding myself that I'm two weeks away from graduation  Anyway, I finally have some DIS time!

Saturday, February 26

This morning we were going to Animal Kingdom! I think I went to the gift shop while my mom was getting ready and I took a walk outside. I saw this really weird looking duck walking down the path like he owned the place

DSCF8091.jpg

A couple pretty pictures before I took a closer look at the duck...

I think I had seen one that looked like that at Epcot before, but I've never seen one anywhere else.

DSCF8099.jpg

My mom was ready to go when I got back to the room, so we went down to the bus stop.

DSCF8101.jpg

Not the best picture, because just the like past two mornings, I was on a mission!

I walked this way...

We would be eating there in a few minutes, but first...

DSCF8111.jpg

Mission complete!

DSCF8112.jpg

I met my mom right outside of Tusker House, we checked in, and were seated in less than 5 minutes.

Time for breakfast!

DSCF8113.jpg

And time for character pictures! I seemed to have a weird look on my face in all of the character pictures this year :rotfl:

DSCF8116.jpg

DSCF8118.jpg

I have to post at least one of my mom's ;)

They have the best juice at Tusker House. I went through two of the little glasses really fast so our waiter just brought me a big glass :rotfl:

DSCF8120.jpg

DSCF8121.jpg

By the time we were done eating, it was time to go on a safari! I also grabbed another set of fastpasses for later

After that, we went on Kali River Rapids. It was really hot that day so that felt good!

DSCF8159.jpg

Then we headed in this direction :hyper:

DSCF8160.jpg

DSCF8161.jpg

I went on twice in the single rider line. I looove that ride! But this time it wasn't as much fun as it was last year when I rode it with Megablocks ;)

I'll stop there for now. Next time: More Animal Kingdom and a DIS meet!

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long! I've been finishing up the school year and it's been crazy! I had my last day of classes last friday and I've had exams and graduation rehearsal all this week. Tomorrow is the friendship service and sunday is graduation :cool1: We're having a little party/cookout after graduation and we have a lot of cleaning and shopping to do before then so I'll be busy all weekend. I'll be exhausted by monday :rotfl: But next week I'm completely free so I promise I'll be doing more updates!!

I hope everyone has a nice weekend! I'll share some graduation pictures next week :goodvibes

Ahhh I miss EE. I loved riding it with you even though I'm a spaz and I can't stop giggling and screaming on it

I think I saw weird ducks like that last year. I also think I kept on insisting that it was not a duck b/c it was just really freaky looking to me! There's so many odd birds there. And, I went to the beach a couple days ago with Charles, Kailyn, Charles's brother and their friend, and since I'm trained to fear seagulls from Disney I kept on having a heart attack over them. I kept saying how aggressive they are and Charles kept on saying that they aren't THAT aggressive. One (I think the alpha male, judging by the way it was acting ) found an unopened bag of Cheetos and managed to rip it open. They're definitely not as bad as at Disney, but they're still scary!

I really, really, really want to try Tusker House for breakfast. Whenever we go in January, we each pick a place we want to eat and I think that TH might be my choice. It looks amazing and I've seriously heard nothing bad about it.

You graduate tomorrow! Sooooo excited for you!

:cool1: CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATE!! :cool1:

Enjoy today!

Love the update with all the great pics! :thumbsup2

Megablocks you must try Tusker House bkfst!
We did it last year and it was so much fun! Great characters and gotta love Mickey waffles!
I also loved getting into the park before everyone else...and you are right there to get on the safari first thing.

I'm a high school graduate :dance3: I'll share some pictures of graduation soon. I'm waiting for my dad to send me some. But for now...more Animal Kingdom(finally)!!!

But first a little warning: The "d" on my keyboard isn't working very well and sometimes I don't notice when it leaves out a "d" so I apologize for any typos

It was time for our second safari of the day!

I can actually see the lion!

DSCF8183.jpg

DSCF8186.jpg

DSCF8188.jpg

After the safari, we went to see It's Tough to be a Bug :scared1:  I like the show now but I was terrified of it when I was little. On my first trip, we went to AK first and ITTBAB was the first thing we did. That was a bad idea :rotfl: It still freaks me out a little bit. Especially the part with the spiders  I still haven't felt the little bee sting in my back because when I was little I wasn't leaning back in the seat and now I know it's coming so I still don't :lmao: When the "bugs" were crawling around on the seats the guy in front of me jumped up and screamed :rotfl2:

After that we went to see The Festival of the Lion King. I looooove this show. We had missed it the year before so I was really excited. We always forget which section is for which animal and somehow always end up in the lion section.

I love the tumble monkeys!

DSCF8201.jpg

DSCF8202.jpg

Apparently I put away my camera after that.

When went a little deeper into Camp Minnie Mickey than we usually do after the show to look for a bathroom, and we discovered...

Thumper!!!!!

DSCF8203.jpg

I love Thumper :lovestruc I didn't get a picture with him though. I didn't want to wait in the line.

After that, it was time to say goodbye to Animal Kingdom, and go to Magic Kingdom for a DIS meet! We were supposed to be meeting MeMom and Jill(BrooklynnsMommy) somewhere in MK. When we got there it was really crowded and hot and I started feeling really nauseous. So we hopped on the train and road it around once so I could sit down and relax. I still wasn't feeling well, and I knew MeMom and Jill were planning on going to the Wilderness Lodge later anyway, so we headed back there to relax. I think the problem was the heat and low blood sugar. I'm not diabetic and neither is my mom, but when we get low blood sugar we start feeling sick. After a bowl of vanilla soft serve ice cream and sitting in the air conditioning for about a half hour, I felt fine.

I got a text from MeMom saying that they were downstairs in the rocking chairs on the porch, so we went down to meet them. We had a great time! They were so nice and Brooklynn and Bella were adorable. It was actually better meeting them there then it would've been in MK. There were no crowds and it was a really peaceful spot! I wish we could've stayed longer but we had to get to our Chef Mickey's reservation. I realized about 15 minutes later when I was texting Meg that we forgot to take a picture! Oh well, we'll get one next time!

We hopped on the bus to MK, and then got on the monorail.

Again with the weird look on my face

DSCF8204.jpg

I love this picture!

DSCF8205.jpg

Mmmm food!

DSCF8206.jpg

Pluto came by next but neither of the pictures came out very well.

DSCF8208.jpg

And now my eyes are half closed :rotfl:

DSCF8209.jpg

Yummy!

DSCF8210.jpg

I love the Mickey domes!

DSCF8211.jpg

DSCF8213.jpg

And now her eyes are half closed!

DSCF8214.jpg

DSCF8215.jpg

After dinner we took the monorail back to MK and then got on the boat back to WL. We didn't have any near death experiences this time

The electrical water pageant went by.

DSCF8221.jpg

That's it for now. Next time: A full day at Magic Kingdom!!!

That creepy bird...is that some kind of bizarre turkey? I mean, all turkeys are bizarre looking. I don't even know what to think of that one. Did I tell you that on my birthday, there was a turkey walking down my street at like 6:30 in the morning, gobbling? It was probably the strangest noise I've ever heard in my life. :rotfl:

Ugh...I will never, ever do ITTBAB. You are far braver than I! I am TERRIFIED of bugs, especially ones that sting. & I cannot handle beetles. There was one crawling around on my floor sometime last week & I completely flipped out. I ran out to my living room screaming, "MA, MA, MA, MA! THERE'S A BEETLE CRAWLING AROUND ON MY FLOOR & I REALLY NEED YOU TO KILL IT!" I texted both Charles & Katie about that & they both basically had the same exact response, which was that they could totally see me doing that. I am SUCH a baby when it comes to bugs but I'm really honestly terrified of beetles the way some are terrified of spiders.

So glad you got to meet MeMom, Jill & the girls! I'm also super jealous!

I need to FOTLK again! I haven't seen it in sooo long!

I think it's a buzzard or something...maybe :confused3  Yes you did tell me about that! That's so weird :rotfl:

I'm like that with spiders. I'm TERRIFIED of them :scared1:

I loooove FOTLK! It's such a good show!

Sunday, February 27

Full day at Magic Kingdom!!!! We always do that on the last full day. It always ends up being my favorite day of the trip. MK is my favorite park, and we always do Crystal Palace that day and it's my favorite meal :)

I was planning on going to MK for rope drop this morning. My mom wanted to sleep later, so I was gonna go by myself and she would meet me there later. But when I woke up, I was sooo tired and lost all motivation to get there early :rotfl: Oops. I've never made rope drop. I always try, and never do. Next time, I'm gonna attempt rope drop on my first full day. Doing it the last day is a bad idea because I'm so tired by then  I also heard music outside when I woke up  I was confused, but too tired to investigate. When we eventually got up about an hour and a half later, I remembered that it was the day of the half marathon, so that explained all the noise outside.

When I opened the door, I found the sad envelope that no one ever wants to get! :sad2:

DSCF8224.jpg

We went down to Roaring Forks to get a quick breakfast. I had a fruit cup and a chocolate croissant

DSCF8225.jpg

DSCF8226.jpg

No, I didn't eat my croissant with that fork  It was for the fruit.

We decided to take the bus because it's usually faster than the boat. THAT was a bad idea! We waited 30 minutes for a bus  The marathon was causing a lot of traffic problems. Of course, we saw like 3 buses for every other park, the water parks, and Downtown Disney before an MK bus came. I wasn't very happy about it because it was our last full day, but we got there eventually. We considered going down to the boat, but we knew the second we walked down there, a bus would come :rotfl:

Anyway, we made it to MK and it was a beautiful day!

DSCF8227.jpg

We hopped on the train and took a ride to Frontierland.

DSCF8229.jpg

There's a lack of pictures here. I was tried to soak up as much magic as I could on my favorite day of the trip, so I kept forgetting to take pictures!

According to my notes, we went on Splash Mountain and the Jungle Cruise, which both apparently had short waits. It was still pretty early so the park wasn't very full yet.

I have no idea where this flower is, but I think it's somewhere in Adventureland.

DSCF8237.jpg

We watched Jack's Pirate Tutorial because it happened to be starting as we were walking by and I've never seen the whole thing. I usually just catch the end of it, but I loved it!

Then we got in a short line for Pirates! I took some flash-less pictures.

DSCF8244.jpg

DSCF8245.jpg

DSCF8248.jpg

DSCF8250.jpg

We walked back this way and headed for the Haunted Mansion!

Not too many people around :thumbsup2

DSCF8253.jpg

DSCF8254.jpg

It was getting crowded in Frontierland, but wait times were still short.
