Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Morning guys,
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Our bathroom is talking a little longer than planned. It took Pete ages to re do the plumbing for the new shower so we didn't get the tiling done yesterday. But at least the bath and shower are fitted now (and not leaking!) so today we are tiling. It is quite warm and humid today as well which isn't great when you are doing DIY!

:surfweb:

I"m going to a DIS Meet today, and I"m really excited about it:banana: We are seeing Wall-E, and then we are going to a local food court, in a mall, to visit with others, and have lunch. We did this a couple of years ago when CARS was at the movie theater, and it was a good time. It seems like we have a decent amount of people going, so that's awesome!!!!!!!:woohoo:

I forgot to tell you guys - my Chiropractor told me that I either buldged a disc or blew out a disc (I can't remember which) when I sneezed:eek: He asked me if I was bending over when I sneezed, and I told him that I didn't remember. He also asked me if I held in the sneeze, and I said no. He said that holding in a sneeze is a terrible thing that you can do to the inside of your body. So, he gave me an adjustment, and it helped a very very small pinch, but not much :sad2: So, I'm going to go back tomorrow for 2 adjustments again. Until then, I was told to take it easy, and not lift anything heavy. I told him that this is a time that I wish I had a boss that I could tell them that my doctor told me to take it easy and not work much - he laughed:rotfl:

geffric - I"m sorry to hear that you can't go to The Meet today - I was looking forward to seeing you:sad1: But if you have company coming over, you can't leave them - I wouldn't do that either:sad2: We'll be thinking of you at The Meet today :grouphug:

Belle - I didn't read it, but I'll go back and do it later :)

cheeringmom - Good to see you!!! :wave2:

Danauk - I"m sorry to hear that the bathroom is taking longer than originally expected :guilty: Just try and keep your eye on the prize, and know that's it's going to be awesome when it's done, and how proud you'll both be that you did that yourself. Did you take a before picture? If so, I would love to see a before and after of your project :)

Well, I gotta go get ready for The Meet
Have a great day!!!

Hey guys, Looks like everyone is still around. Where is Wally??? Back online looking for cruise info. I saw you ibounce on the thread! We cruise this November. Hooray!!! I see that there are a few, Geffric, Ohanafamily are getting ready to go quickly or are you gone?? Can't wait to see your report. I am learning a lot. Ibounce, we are still going with Dee. She is great. She has gotten us a few extra dollars for SBC!! yeah. She is the master.....:cheer2: cmom

Great to see you again! Yes, Dee is a master-cruiser. She will also be on the EB Panama with geffric, RRBB and Ohanafamily :thumbsup2 You guys all give her a hug from me..AND DO NOT BELIEVE her if she tells you the story of how we met in Vegas. :sad2:

I test drove a Hyundai Tucson yesterday and really liked it. I'm going to a different dealer today (who gave me a better internet quote) for another drive. I swapped out my rental car Friday night from the Pontiac to a 2008 Toyota Rav4. I don't like the new one compared to my 2002! :scared1: I was so surprised at that. They up-sized them in 2007 I think. Makes the Hyundai all that much more attractive to me (it's about 11 inches shorter than the new Rav4, but only one inch shorter on wheel base). The fantastic warranty and the 10 way ajustable, lumbar support seat on the Tucson is winning me over!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

The girls and I went to a DIS Meet yesterday, and it was alot of fun as always :goodvibes We went to see Wall-E first, and then visited with everyone at a local food court afterwards. Katie didn't love the movie at all :sad2: and I just liked it okay. I like animated movies with huggable type characters, and the characters in Wall-E aren't like that - I"m glad I saw it though.

Well, I gotta get going and take a slow walk today. With my back hurting, I'm not going to be able to speed walk like I normally do. Have a great day today!!!

Morning all,
Slo Sorry your back is still bad, take it easy. As for Wall:E I think it will be one of those movies I wait to appear on sky movies or something, one that I will watch at some time but not right now. Have you seen Kung Fu Panda or Prince Caspian? They are both showing on our flight in a few weeks time so I think I will watch them. Having said that though I didn't rate the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe movie so I'm not sure about Prince Caspian either.

Well today is another day of tiling the bathroom. I'm busy cutting tiles in the garden when Pete needs them. It is a lovely day here today it is 75 degrees right now but quite humid and should get up to 80 this afternoon. It hasn't been this nice weather for so long here so it is a nice change.

Well I better get on with my tile cutting. Have a great day everyone.

hehehe I can't wait to hear the tale of that meeting!! How fun for them all to go on a cruise together. Dee said she is not the Queen but I've heard otherwise...

SLO sorry you are ill. But the meet sounded fun. I wish we had them in FL

DANA, i thought the same about WallE but really liked it. I was going to wait to see it but glad I saw it on the big screen. it is very cute and sad in a way. My 8 yr old was tearing up. too cute!!

Doing my cruise homework. I know you most of you have cruised before. I am looking forward to it. But I don't like the planning. I always feel like I am missing something...ugh

Geffric, when are you guys going?? tell Dee hi for me and I am looking forwrd to seeing her in November. She is the MIL of my neighbor's daughter. Elizabeth baby sat for my two oldest 20 years ago...aaccckkk I am dating myself!! hehehe

I saw Wall-E yesterday too and enjoyed it. We had an 8 year old with us and she liked it too. I did see the trailor for the sequal to Madagascar, so I'm looking forward to that. (When we rented that movie, my BIL laughed so hard several times we had to stop the movie and wait for him to catch his breath). Also saw the trailor for Bolt, and I think the hamster in that movie will steal the show (like the squirrel did in Over the Hedge).

BUT, before I went to the movies.......I bought a new car! Yep, bought the Hyundai Tucson and love it! :thumbsup2

Cheeringmom, about the cruise and planning...you WILL miss something...as there is so much going on! Just keep reading the boards and ask questions as they come up. I love reading trip reports also...that's how I've discovered some of the "I didn't know you could do that" stuff. No matter what...you won't be able to do everything AND once you are on the ship, you may find yourself blowing off planned stuff off to just relax. I remember thinking I would never nap or see a movie on the cruise (it seemed like I was wasting time), but both are very enjoyable ;)

.

iBounce _ congrats on the new car.. what color?? Also can you pm me Dee's email so i can make arrangements to meet her.. i know you did this before but I forgot..

CMOM - nice to see you.. OF,RRBB and family and DH and I are going on the east bound repo cruise.. we leave in a few, very few weeks. PLUS we are meeting DanaUK and Pete for dinner in LA the night before..:woohoo:

Thanks! Love cruise lingo

I am so jealous. No kids for two weeks....ahhhh the life. My son and daughter will both be at UF this November. It will just be Lauren, my dh and I on the cruise. We are taking her out for 5 days but she will only be in third grade...not like your boys in HS.

Looks like we are staying put in FL...for awhile. It is too hot here but a lot cheaper than VA!!

Hi gang... I'm back!!!!

I survived the trip to visit my inlaws in TN. We had a very nice visit, except for the chigger bites. Man I hate those things.

I hope all is well with everyone.

Now that I have gotten through my summer of family obligation (my mom and my inlaws) I can now focus on plotting... er I mean planning my Oct Disneyland trip.

Slo - sorry your back is bothering you.

ibouncetoo - Sounds like the test driving is going well. We rented a Forrester in TN. It really grew on me and seemed to get good gas mileage.

DanaUK - I saw Kung Fu Panda and thought it was cute.

geffric - I hope the scout event went well.

Welcome home, glad you survived! Give me a yell when you are in the office and have a couple of minutes....I'll show you my new baby! :thumbsup2 (I won't be in tomorrow....jury duty.)

My young employee that left me for Jewel (the grocery store), has agreed to just work on Saturdays, and Jewel is allowing it (thank God!!!). She's really happy about this, because she really does like working for me, and I like having her. I told her that if Jewel doesn't schedule her alot during the week, that she can call me, and work on her non-Jewel days if she wants - she liked that idea!!!! So, even though I'm going to be working a ton more, at least I still have her on Saturdays, and once in awhile :)

Danauk - I wish I could take it easy, but I have alot going on at work (that's a good thing:) ). I'm just trying to work through the pain, and taking alot of Advil when needed
**I haven't seen Kung Fu Panda, but I know many adults that have, and they loved it!!!:thumbsup2 I have seen Prince Caspian, and I did enjoy that. I haven't read the book yet, because I"m book 3 of that whole series. But when I do, I'm curious on how it is compared to the movie. I was amazed with how different The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe book was compared to the movie.

Cheeringmom - Thanks!!!!!:) I"m really not ill, I just have a bad back :guilty:

ibounce - Congrats on your new car!!!!!:cheer2:

geffric - :wave2:

Well, I gotta get going and do some things around the house. The girls birthday party is this weekend, and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed on how much needs to be done around here. When I'm home, Sophie totally monopolizes me time, because she needs alot of attention, and therefore nothing gets done. But she's so darn sweet, that it's easy to give her all the attention she wants:goodvibes

Have a good day today!!!

Hey, I didn't LOVE Wall-E either, but my husband loved it.

My kids thought it was awesome, but really, they are not that into getting stuff from the movie like they are from Cars etc.

I didn't think it was a transformative of animation as some of the past Pixar movies, so that was my issue. Story was good, if a little "beat us over the head".

Glad you had fun at the meet!

Danauk - Kung Fu Panda is worth seeing. It's funny. I haven't seen Prince Caspian yet. I was totally jazzed about seeing Narnia, but then when I did, i was a little disapointed. I was such a huge fan of the books when I was younger. The problem is that the books didn't translate from what was in my mind for so many years to what i saw on the screen. The movies were brilliant, but not exeactly how I saw everything so for me it was a let down and brought imagination into a car crash scenario with reality. Never fun.

Cheeringmom Thats what I thought about The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe too, I loved the books when I was younger but the movie to me didn't live up to what I expected. I'll definately watch Kung Fu Panda on the flight and probably Prince Caspian as well. I guess I have to do something to pass the 11 hours!!!!

Slo How is Sophie doing? I hope your girls enjoy the birthday party at the weekend.

Bluebayou Glad you survived the trip! Are you going to the Halloween parties at Disneyland on your October visit? We are going to the 1st ever Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland Paris in October and we are really looking forward to it!! Which hotel are you staying in at Disneyland?

ibouncetoo I hope you have fun with your new car.

Geffric How is the cruise prep going? Not long now!!

Well I better go, I supposed to be helping Pete with the tiling in the bathroom, we want to get it finished today.

HI..

Work was totally too busy today... I didn't have time for anything...

BB welcome back.. glad you survived the trip..

ibounce - i don't remember you saying what color the car is... how is it doing??..

I have started to get the books in order for the cruise.. luckily I am in the book swap to I won't need to bring all the books for the 2 weeks. But I ordered the david mcCullough - the path between the seas - the creation of the panama canal 1870-1914 from amazon the other day and it came.. yeah!!! now to hide it so i won't start reading it before i go..

what other books do you suggest???

:surfweb:

BB - Welcome home!!!! :) I"m glad you had a nice trip at your in-laws. My dad used to talk about chigger bites, and I never knew what he was talking about - what are they???

castlegazer - So good to see you!!!! :wave2: Come to think of it, my kids haven't wanted anything with Wall-E on it either :sad2: I never gave it a thought until now. They never wanted anything from Meet the Robinsons either:sad2:
**I"m reading the Narnia books right now, and since I saw the movie first, I was surprised with how different the movie was from the book. I wish I knew about these books when I was a kid, because I would have loved them then - I was a huge reader when I was younger.

Danauk - Sophie is doing so great, thanks for asking!!!:goodvibes She is such a good puppy!! I'm just waiting for it to change, because it seems to good to be true.
**The girls are so excited about their party this weekend:yay: Their theme is Hannah Montana - they just can't get enough of ol Miley Cyrus.

geffric - I haven't read in years, so I'm really behind on good books. I hope you enjoy your new ones.:)

Well, I gotta get out and get walking
Have a good day today everyone!!

morning all!!:surfweb:

Geffric, wish I had some books to reccomend. No time to read during the summer...

SLO, do your girls like Camp Rock? My dd is obsessed. She wants to do her whole room Camp Rock. ugh...she will get stuff and then change her mind like she did with Princess, to Bratz, to Tween and now Camp Rock. All with in a few years. She does more redecorating that HGTV

off to do some errands today. It sure is hot in FL....

Okay moms---what is your favorite site or sites to share baby/family pictures that even less techie people can navigate? My dad and I are trying to get a list for sis to share baby C's pictures with relatives that have limited computer skills. I'm not sure about a blog. We are thinking that we want password protection/best security.
