princess: Happy birthday to Stephanie!!!:bday: party: :cake:

Congrats to Slo/her family on the latest addition, Sophie!

:cheer2: It is getting real close to cruise time for some of you and DL/Vegas/other for Danauk.

I had adjust our vacation again...change our flight back to early morning on 9/3 plus we are taking advantage of a code for one night at the CR-garden wing unless I change my mind to another resort.

Connor is 8 days old by the time this is posted and Momma is doing okay.

my Stephanie is 10 years old today :bday:
I can't believe she's in "double digits" as she would say:eek:
Time is going by to fast!!!

Wow- do you realize how close she is to 13
Seem like there's only a short while left before TWEEN!
Then you're in for it missy! :rotfl:

Happy B- Day To Stephy

Thank you so much for everyones birthday wishes for Stephanie:goodvibes I will have to show them to her when she wakes up. She had a great day, even though it wasn't with me :guilty: (not that I'm complaining about having alot of work to do - I just wish I could have been with her more on her birthday). She went to my mom's and she baked a birthday cake all by herself (w/ my mom's supervision of course), and it's chocolate w/ chocolate icing, and on top it has sprinkles and marshmallows - yummy!!!! :teeth: Than last night we took her to Culvers, where I ate WAY TO MUCH  Whatever calories I burned working out the last 2 days, were put back on instantly. The flavor of the day there was Cherry Amaratto, and it was so so yummy!!!!:goodvibes Than we took her to Game Stop where she picked out a game for her Wii. Then we came home, had some of her birthday cake she made, and then Kevin set up the Wii. The 2 of them played that until 10:30pm, and it looks like so much fun!!!!! I didn't play, because I was sitting with Sophie on the floor - she's becoming very spoiled very fast :dog: So, Stephanie had a good day!!!!!:goodvibes

Belle - Thanks!!!!:goodvibes I"m so glad I can join you and everyone else in Furbaby talk now :dog: She's a lot of fun to have!!!! I just wish that I could someday not take her out on a leash to go potty, but that will never happen :sad2: I have so much wildlife around here, that I'm afraid something will carry her off:eek: Taking her out isn't so bad now, but it will be when it's storming, sleeting, freezing, etc. This is when the family and I start drawing straws to see who takes her out :thumbsup2
**Thanks for keeping us updated on your sweet nephew, and I'm glad your sister is doing well :goodvibes

Wally - Don't remind me about Stephanie being close to 13 - I'm not looking forward to it :sad2:  :scared1: :scared: :headache: She's not going to be a joy when she's teenager - she's already showing signs of that :headache: Maybe she'll surprise me, but I doubt it:rolleyes:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work early
Stephanie has to be at daycare by 8am so she can leave on there field trip to The Field Museum (this is like the museum in the movie Night at the Museum) - she's really excited!!!!! This is her favorite museum, which surprised me a bit - most kids love the Museum of Science and Industry more.

Have a good day!!!

Happy B'day to Stephanie.. hope she has a great field trip..

Belle - thanks for the baby updates.. glad both he and his Mom are doing well..

Morning kids!

Oh man, I want to go to the Field Museum too! I love that place. I'm with Steph...I like it much more than Science & Industry. I also like that the aquarium and planetarium are nearby too. After I'd started working in Chicago, I remember taking Peg up there for a day of information overload. We took the train into the city, hit the museum and aquarium then went to Marshall Field on State Street for a little shopping. I took home one exhausted ten year old that evening. ::yes::

Evening all,
Well school is out for summer, whoooooooo. The children finished at 12pm and the staff were supposed to stay until 3pm but at 1pm the boss said we all had to go home as we had worked hard this year. So I decided to go to the gym for a bit before heading home.

Then this evening Pete has been working on the bathroom. Right now it has no tiles on the walls or floor, no bath, no shower, no sink and no toilet! It is basically a room with a few pipes sticking up!! I'm glad I haven't got work tomorrow as I won't be able to have a shower in the morning (I'll go straight to the gym, work out and then shower there!!) We are putting in the new bath tomorrow and then we need to finish prepping the walls for the tiles, then we can tile on Friday, let them dry then grout on Saturday, then let that dry so I should be able to use my new bath and shower by Sunday at the earliest!!!! I'm just glad we have a downstairs toilet and 3 more sinks in the house (a lot of English houses only have one toilet!!)

:surfweb:

I played the Wii for the first time last night, and it was alot of fun!!!!
I look forward to bowling again tonight!!!:teeth:

geffric - Thanks for the happy birthday wish for Steph :goodvibes

ibounce - Those sounded like fun days!!!!!:goodvibes Do you know that Marshall Fields is Marshall Fields anymore? The stores aren't the same now that they are Macy's :sad2: I only go in them if I really really need something - like my Clinque makeup:rolleyes:

Danauk - Enjoy your summer break!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:
**Remodeling is always so messy isn't it?!?! But it's always so nice when it's done!!!:goodvibes

Well, I need to get going - STephanie has another early field trip today. She is going to see a Railcats game (a minor league baseball team)- I'm so glad that the kids have good weather for this. Last year it was a dreadfully hot day when they went, and Stephanie did not have a good time :sad2:

Have a good day!!!!!

Morning all,
Well today is day 1 of my summer break and I am shattered already. The skip (I guess you guys call it a dumpster?) arrived this morning and I have spent all morning carrying baskets of tiles that used to be on my bathroom wall and floor down to the skip. I'm shattered and haven't finished yet (I'm taking a lunch break!) We decided to finish doing the prep today and tomorrow then Petes best friend is coming over on Saturday morning and they will get all the tiling done then. We are hoping to have it all finished by this time next week.

This afternoon my FIL is dropping by for a visit. He is making a delivery somewhere around here (he was a headmaster and then retired but he loves driving so now he does lorry driving a few days a week to keep busy - and I suspect to get away from his wife for a bit who retired last year!!) so he is dropping in for a cup of tea and to bring some $$ over for us which is our birthday presents from them.

Slo I hope Stephanie has fun at the ball game. My assistant at work is taking her sons to a ball game in Las Vegas when they visit in 2 weeks time, they are really looking forward to it.

Well, lunch break is over, I'm going to move more tiles, I don't know how many times I am going to walk up and down our stairs today. Oh well, good excercise I guess!!

DanaUK - good luck with the tiles.. sounds like a lot of work..is it possible to just shove them out the window instead of carrying them?? :rotfl2:

SLO - tell Stephanie to have fun at the game. Is there a time decided for the Chi meet and a location??

Well back to work..things are not good, and i am trying not to quit until after the cruise.. but it is getting impossible...

Eric and Dh are leaving this morning for the Boy scout eastern trip.. they will go to Washington Dc, rafting etc..

Morning Taglikins!

Well, I finally found out how much $$ I'm getting on my car. It will pay off the car and leave me with $3300 for a downpayment on my new one. Haven't decided what I'm getting yet (used Toyota/Honda or new Hyundai/Kia) ???:confused3

I'm thinking, because of my age, I should go for a new one...it will be paid off in 5 years (when I hit retirement age), but will still have some life left in it, so I can have years of no car payments. If I buy a used one...that's a couple of years less 'use' and may need to be replaced sooner...and when I'm on a fixed or reduced income.

Geffric, RRBB, OhanaFamily....aren't you guys EXCITED!?! Your cruise is getting soooooo close!

Have a good day kids!

.

DanaUK - good luck with the tiles.. sounds like a lot of work..is it possible to just shove them out the window instead of carrying them?? :rotfl2:

I did think about that but the bathroom is at the back of the house and the skip is on the driveway at the front!
I managed to get it all done though, and then decided to do a little gardening. Well the little gardening turned out to be a lot of pruning and completely sorting out the plants in my pond. It's a good job they delivered a bigger skip than the one we ordered as I think it will be filled up with garden stuff too!!

DanaUK..in then US, we can't dispose of garden waste in a skip (or dumpster) we need to use recycle bages for yard waste..

glad your project is going well..

tomorrow I am supposed to go to a ASUG meeting.. but hd of the office are not in favor .. so I'll see if I go..

anyway, I came home tonight from work and picked up.. :thumbsup2 gonna stay that way for a whole week and 1/2 since the boys are gone//

Sat I'll pick up my friend from the city and she will join us suburban girls for dinner then she will come back to my house for a visit..I am looking forward to her staying for a few days..

Geffric, RRBB, OhanaFamily....aren't you guys EXCITED!?! Your cruise is getting soooooo close!.

We are supposed to get Docs on Friday.. as RRBB said they are going the scenic route.. Hard to beleive it is here.. plus I get to meet DanaUK and DH for dinner before we cruise.. gonna be a great time..

geffric, in the UK we also have recycle bins for garden waste, but we can also put it into the skip as when the skip is taken away it goes to the recycle centre and the people there seperate all the recycalable stuff before the rest goes to landfill. I hope you have fun with your friend whilst she is visiting.

Well today we need to go to the DIY store to get a few last bits for the bathroom. Today my new bath is going in, but Pete needs some more plumbing stuff first, something about needing exra pipes as he is moving the.... eer... something. Actually I haven't got a clue why we need more pipe!!

But we can't go until my $$ are delivered, they are coming this morning, so my trip must be close now!! So I guess my job whilst I am waiting is to move all the garden waste into the skip!

:surfweb:

I"m start this post out by whining a little bit. I have a cold (Kevin's cold) and when I sneezed yesterday, I pulled something in my back:eek: It hurts so bad I could just cry:sad1: This is not a good time for this - work is busy, and puppy requires me to bend a lot. Thank goodness I'm going to the chiropracter today, because he can look at it. I'm thinking it's a muscle thing, at least I hope it is, because that will go away faster than a pinched nerve.

Danauk - Sounds like you guys are working hard at your house. I bet everything is going to look so good when it's done :goodvibes You'll have to post a picture of your finished work.

geffric - The times of The Meet will probably be posted today on The Meet thread. Bunchkin just told me the times of the show yesterday, and we are thinking about an 11am show, and then lunch afterwards. I don't know if the movie is at the same theater Cars was at, but we are eating lunch at the same Food Court that we went to after Cars. It should be fun - are you coming? I hope so - it would be great to see you!!!!!:goodvibes

ibounce - That's awesome about the money!!!!:woohoo: How are you feeling? Have you fully recovered, or are you still sore in places?

Well, I"m off to color my hair this morning - no working out today, my back can't handle it:sad2:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning..:surfweb: got lots of work to do today.. so this will be quick..
Last night I picked up and the really fun thing is that the house will still be picked up when i get home tonight.:thumbsup2
Spoke to Dh, he forgot the plates and cups for the camping trip..he had put them into the dishwasher to clean them and then forgot them I opened the Dishwasher to empty it and there they were.. called him.. oh well...

SLO - the meet is Sunday right??? I don't think I'll make it 'cause my sister and her DH are coming over Sunday afternoon to go over the stuff they need to know when we leave for 2 weeks..

Well back to work.. I'll try and stop by later..
