Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all having a good day.

NCBelle I hope you have a fab trip to WDW. Are you going to ride the new Toy Story Mania ride? I can't wait to try that at Disneyland, it looks fun.

RRBB and Geffric I'm looking forward to meeting you guys too, ibouncetoo it would be great if you could come and meet us too.

Cheeringmom I would love to do a cruise some day, but I get very travel sick so am worried about the boat.

Slo I hope you managed to get out of work early and got the party sorted. I hope you had a good time.

Last night we went to the British fireworks championships at a local stately home and we had a great time. You sat in the grounds of the home next to the river and the firework displays were on the other side of the river. People took picnics complete with tables, culltery, candles etc and we had a great time. I took my new camera to practice taking firework shots ready for Disneyland!! So I though I would share a few.

People were given these lanterns, you light the fuel cell then once the air inside heats up it floats off like a mini hot air balloon. They had lots of people set them off at the same time which looked really pretty.

Plus I took a couple of firework display shots.

Right I better go, we need to go to the DIY store for the last few bathroom bits.

The girls birthday party is finally here - they are so excited!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: (Their actual bdays are not today. Steph's was in July, and Kate's is later in August) If I like doing this ONE party, we may do it this way in the future too ::yes:: There's still alot to do before the guests get here - water all the flowers, mop the kitchen floor, tidy up the girls bathroom, pick up the cake, pick up the balloons, and pick up the food - the party starts at 1pm.

We had quite a mess on our back deck yesterday. Our glass top table shattered, and there was glass everywhere  I heard it when it happened, yesterday afternoon, but I had no idea what the sound was - it was so weird. I looked all over the house to see what had fallen, and broken, but I found nothing. It never dawned on me to look outside. That was not fun to pick up, at all!!!!!:sad2:

I want to be a party of the group that's meeting with each other :guilty: It would be so much fun!!!! :yay: You'll have to post alot of pictures, and give alot of details, so we can all feel like we were there with you :teeth: It's exciting that you all get to meet each other after all these years -I'm excited for you!!!!!:cool1:

Belle - Your pictures turned out great!!!!!:) Thanks for sharing them!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I gotta go water my flowers (the first thing on the preparty list to do).
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Hi everyone!!!!

Not much going on here today. The kids had a couple of friends sleep over last night. It was my friend's anniversary - so we watched her girls - while her son went fishing with the granddad.

My girls had a blast. 7, 6, and two 5 year olds entertain themselves for the most part - just the occasional disagreements which need to be settled.

Having two extra kids in the pool was a little more stressful. We only went in with my husband there too. We were in for about two hours - and they all had fun. We have a circa 1970's tall slide... and I am always scared somebody is going to fall when they are climbing to the top - we have strict rules about only one person on the ladder at a time. But I am still paranoid.

I hope every is having a wonderful weekend. Only one more week until school starts for us.

Do you know how it happened? That just seems odd to me.

Glad you survived the trip! Are you going to the Halloween parties at Disneyland on your October visit? We are going to the 1st ever Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland Paris in October and we are really looking forward to it!! Which hotel are you staying in at Disneyland?
Right now we are not planning on the Halloween parties - we hate the crowds and so if we can avoid it we do Disneyland midweek - and right now they are not offering the party the days we plan to be at the parks. No hotel plans yet - hoping for a discount pin, got one for Disney World today - but not California. We have stayed at the Grand Californian, Camelot, Desert Inn and Suites, HOJOS and Best Western Park Inn. We would do any of those again.

Bluebayou The main and really busy Halloween party at DLRP is on Halloween itself, the MNSSHP tickets are very limited so hopefully we will have a good time. Have you seen the threads about the new water play area at the HOJO? I bet your kids would love that (or is the weather not hot enough at that time of year?) Also have you heard that the HOJO does a Disboard rate, the manager posts on the DL board quite a bit. I hope you get a good rate and have a great time. We leave a week tomorrow for the Grand Californian, I can't believe after 2 years our trip is finally here!!

I am so excited that your trip is so soon. If you get a chance, please post again where all in the states you are visiting. I know it is more than just California.

You know it is funny about the pool that time of year - they are heated so they would be fine - but we have NEVER used any pool during all of our visits to Disneyland. Even when we were at the Desert Inn - which has an indoor pool. When I was a kid, I would have begged to go in. But I guess having a pool kind of takes the thrill of it away for my girls. We spent two hours in today and two hours in yesterday... plus the girls take swim lessons for at least 6 weeks of the summer at their daycare.

I really wanted to use the pool at the Grand Californian - but we never had a chance.

Good morning everyone,
BlueBayou We are spending 3 weeks in America this time, our longest trip so far. This time we are visiting California (Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hollywood to do all the studio tours), then over to Nevada to go to Las Vegas (we plan to do the Red Rock Canyon drive, Helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon, drive out to the Hoover Dam as well as looking around all the hotels.) I know what you mean about having time to swim. We are going to take afternoon hotel breaks each day, but I'm still not sure if we will have time to use the pool. Our main problem is the time difference, California is 8 hours behind UK time and last time we went to CA it took several days to adjust, I know we will have no problems getting up for early entry, but past 9pm might be an issue!!

Slo How did the party go? I hope you all had fun.

Everyone else Hi, I hope you had a great weekend.

So what do you all have planned for today? Pete is grouting the bathroom floor which he put down yesterday. That will dry overnight so we can put all the fittings in tomorrow, then the bathroom will finally be done!!
Today I have school work to do, plus I guess I need to begin the pre trip house tidy and clean!!

Have a great day everyone.

The party yesterday was a success!!!!!
The girls had a wonderful time, and received some wonderful gifts!!!!!:thumbsup2
I told Stephanie that I think we may do it this way from now on, and she was fine with that.

Danauk - Congrats on your 8000th post!!!!!!:cheer2:

BB - The table breaking for no reason is odd ::yes:: The table was 10 years old, and was rusting quite badly. I was home alone with the girls when it happened, so no one was in the back yard. The whole thing is just bizarre!!!!!

Well, I gotta go walk - I've consumed way to many calories this whole weekend!!!
Have a good day everyone!!!

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself this morning, I just saved $110 on my holiday. I needed to look up some facilities for the hotel we are staying in when we go to Six Flags Magic Mountain and I noticed that the room rates were a lot cheaper than when we booked. So I phoned up and cancelled our existing booking with no penalty and re booked at the cheaper rate!! So thats $110 more I can spend at Disney!!

Congrats.. that is a BIG SAVINGS.. :thumbsup2

CA time is a problem for us too.. first time we were in CA, we got up after sleeping in, took showers, dressed and were ready for breakfast but it was 6 am CA time.. and staying up late.. that was a issue too..

SLO - that is wierd about your table.. I broke mine last week by just trying to get the umbrella out.. With the safety glass, there were little pieces everywhere.. big mess to clean up..

Glad the party was fun.. any pics??

Goodmorning all

SLO< sorry about your table. And so glad the party went well. What kind of goodies did they get? it is always helpful to see what other young girls are playing with since I want to stat Christmas shopping soon!!

Geffric. Two weeks!!!!! accckkkkkk:banana: You guys will have a crazy time!!! Dee did say she emailed/spoke with you. FUN!

Dana and BB< I grew up very near CA Disneyland and can say the best Halloween park is Knotts Berry Farm. It is soooo much fun. They really do it right. if I remember right, a tour operator told me that they take in 80% of thier income during October!

ibounce...I think I will know if I can dot he whole cruise w/o getting sick at least mid week. Then we will decide if we will rebook. I am going to take sea sick pills but last time they made me so tired. I was in bed by 9pm. can you believe it???I do not want to be a party pooper.

Have you tried Bonine? Folks say it doesn't make them drowsy. I take one on flying day and embarkation day. I don't normally have 'issues', but you never know if it will be a rough flight and I DO feel the movement it when we cross the Gulf stream shortly after leaving Port Canaveral.

Good morning everyone,
Today we hopefully should finally get our bathroom finished! So far today we have polished the floor and already got the cabinet on the wall. Now all we need to do is put the toilet and sink back in and the towel radiator and TV. Then we just have to clean all the grout off the tiles and then we are done! Oh and then I can finally put our cabinets back at the top of the stairs which will mean I can actually get into the spare bedroom again!! I guess then I should think about getting the suitcases down and begin packing. My parents are coming down on Friday so we can show them how to work things in the house, show them how to get to the shops, vets etc as they are house sitting when we are away.

Oh well, I guess I better get on with my work. Have a great day everyone.

Morning...

lots of work to do today, so I'll stop by later..I have NEVER done a demo.. but I need to do one on Thursday.. so I am going try and figure this out.. everyone has a week of training to do this but I am stuck.. kinda feel like I just can't win on this one...but I'll try..

GOOD NEWS is that it is only 9 more work days until I leave for vacation!!!!

i have to go to the eye dr again tonight.. the story - got new glasses and I have been in 4 times for an adjustment.. Something is still not right, so when i went in on Sat for the last time, they made an appt for the eye dr to again to check the perscription to see if that is the issue... I can't wear them and I am very tired of going back to the eye place for an adjustment. I am at the point of returning them. so this is the last time i am gonna play with the eye place...

:surfweb:

This is a very quick post since I just woke up - very very late for me!!!!
Last night was a crazy crazy storm night!!!! I didn't get to sleep until 3am, or a little later, and poor Kevin didn't sleep at all. He went to his weekly FD meeting last night, and didn't get home until 2:45am. Then after that he stayed up watching our sump pump because the electricity was out, and he didn't trust the battery back up. He's sleeping now, and is not going into work today - he doesn't have the energy - him and the rest of the guys on the FD ran ALOT of calls last night!!!!!

The storms were very very bad, but we luckily didn't get as bad as a neighboring town. The tornado sirens went off at 8:30pm and we went downstairs. Than after that was over, I put the girls to bed, and I went to bed - this was at 10:45pm. I then woke up at 11:30pm to the tornado sirens going off again, and Kevin calling me on the phone demanding me to go downstairs. Him and another fireman spotted a tornado in our town:eek: Katie was already up, but I had to wake up Stephanie, and tell her to get downstairs NOW!!!!! Needless to say the girls were like this:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: The weather was really really unbelievable!!! We have a lot to be thankful for this morning, that nothing worse happened, and I have all the people that have damage this morning in my thoughts and prayers.

geffric - Were the storms really bad up north? I hope all is well with you!!!

Well, I"m sorry I'm not responding to everyone's posts, but I gotta run and get ready for work. Plus, I have to somehow get the girls up and ready for daycare after they've only received 5 hours of sleep. I wish I could leave them home with Kevin, but I know when he gets up, he's going straight to the firehouse to help with any clean-up around town that may be needed. Oh well, once the girls are at school, they'll be fine, it's getting them there that will be the problem.

Have a good day everyone!!!

SLO what a crazy night for you!!!! I am so afraid of tornados. We get scares here in FL but not too often. No basement for us. If there is a tornado, we are in the tub!!!

Dana, it will be nice to come home to a finished house. I know what a relief it was to be done with our addition. Now if we could just get the energy to finish the rest of the house.....

Geffric, hang in there. Nine more days!! hooray! I would think of returning the glasses too. You don't want to be miserable on the cruise!

ibounce, have not tried Bonine. I did the patch last time and I was so out of it. Too tired to do anything. Don't want that again. I may try Bonine a week or so before to see the side effects. of course I won't be able to see if it will help with motion sickness but will see how tired it makes me!

Have a good day all.

DanaUK - If you go to Universal you will have to give me your thoughts. My DH wants to go to ride the Simpsons ride, so we are planning a day there in October. The last time I was there - it was just a studio tour (1979) and I remember really liking it. But I was a little older than my girls (6th grade vs 2nd and K). I have been watching videos on youtube and the studio tram seems to have more scary things in it than when I went.

cheeringmom - It is funny that you mention Knotts Scary Farms. The first year I visited Disneyland as an adult (1998 or 1999 - right after I moved out west) was was halloween weekend. Disneyland was a ghost town. Crowds were wonderful - particularly at night.

Now Disneyland it trying to keep those crowds. It has become more and more fall/halloween like. And more and more crowded. But still nothing like Knotts. On our arrival to one of our most recent trips to California - we missed an exit - and ended up near Knotts. The lines to park were huge. We were afraid we were going to get trapped - but we were able to turn around.

Slo - sorry the weather is so bad. Hang in there.
