anyone done an Epcot fireworks cruise with little kids? I was thinking of booking this we’ll have a 4 and 1 year old with us. Is this too much for such little kids? We haven’t watched fireworks inside the park but have from our room balconies and the kids have loved it (for magic kingdom). I’ve never done one of the fireworks cruises before even before kids so not really sure what to expect

We have only done the EP one and really loved it. We did it when my son was younger. You board the boat at YC and take a little cruise over to DHS, then cruise over to EP and the boat "anchors" just past the bridge between England and France. They provide snacks. The view is lovely and you avoid all of the crowds. If your children enjoy being on a boat and watching the fireworks, they will probably enjoy it.

We were supposed to do a MK one and it got cancelled due to weather. One thing is you know your kid best. My almost 13 year olds were a little scared tk be getting on a boat in the dark. We had really bad weather so that added to the apprehension I’m sure. My girls at 4 forget about it no way would they ave wanted to do it. Also it’s over an hour on the boat and any kids 12 and under must wear a life jacket the entire time. Something else to keep in mind. I’m so bummed ours was cancelled and would book it again or try an MK dessert party.

Did you find the fireworks very loud from that spot? Should I bring headphones for my 1 year old?

They’ve been on Disney boat from wilderness lodge to Magic Kingdom but that’s the only boat they’ve gone on. If it gets cancelled for weather I’m assuming it’s refunded?

The fireworks and music are loud anywhere in the vicinity of the parks. Headphone might be good to have then make a decision at the time. Headphones for little are great to have at any time while visiting Disney if you find they are sensitive to noise.

Yes we received a refund. My issue with it was we had to wait outside in a huge lightning storm before they finally cancelled 45 minutes after the time we were set to leave. We had to stay and wait otherwise we would not get refunded

They had you stand in the rain in a lightning storm? That’s crazy and dangerous

It will be very loud, and you can't just walkaway if the small ones hate it. Which resort did you watch the MK fireworks from?

The Epcot fireworks launch and directly from within the World Showcase lagoon very close to your pontoon boat, and sounds will travel very fast on the water.

You might want to consider watching with them first from same area of Epcot but with the option to leave the area. This will allow you to save the Fireworks Cruise for a future date when you small ones have some additional closer Fireworks experiences.

We’ve watched from the contemporary and Polynesian. We have been by the castle in magic kingdom when they set off the fireworks with the daytime shows it startled mg one year old but she didn’t cry or anything from it but it was also not a long show. We wouldn’t really have much opportunity to see the fireworks before we don’t have a trip planned before this upcoming trip and our Epcot day would be after we do this

they reallly hate canceling fireworks cause of all the money they have to refund. The desert party and all the other stuff. plus people wanna see them cause they might only be there for one night.

I would just skip it tbh at that age. like was said above you are stuck on a boat, I’m sure if it’s just your family on the boat and kid is going crazy they can drive away and accommodate your group, but you aren’t going to get a refund or anything. I have kids similar ages and specifically avoid being close to the fireworks cause they are pretty loud and starling and they last over 10 minutes.

I would definitely bring headphones for the kids. Our daughter was 6 and 8 on the EP fireworks cruises we did and she used headphones both times. On the first cruise we didn't even think of bring headphones and she sat there with her fingers in her ears when the fireworks started. The captain opened a box/compartment and pulled out a set of headphones for her. She was very happy. The next time she didn't think she would need them, so we didn't bring any. Once again, the captain pulled out a set as soon as he saw her putting her fingers in her ears. That was 10 years ago, so I have no idea if they still have them or if they would have a set that would fit a baby. Another thing is to make sure everyone goes to the bathroom before you get on the boat (and hopefully don't do a lot of drinking right before and during the cruise). Both times we did the cruise, we were on the boat for about an hour and a half as we always checked in at the earliest time possible to get our money's worth. :D

oh wow I didn’t realize Disney had the headphones in there but I guess it makes sense.

My parents are still deciding if they want to join us on the trip so we could potentially have them babysit the kids and me and my husband could go and have a date night on the boat. I haven’t seen the Epcot fireworks since I had kids
