I would definitely bring headphones for the kids. Our daughter was 6 and 8 on the EP fireworks cruises we did and she used headphones both times. On the first cruise we didn't even think of bring headphones and she sat there with her fingers in her ears when the fireworks started. The captain opened a box/compartment and pulled out a set of headphones for her. She was very happy. The next time she didn't think she would need them, so we didn't bring any. Once again, the captain pulled out a set as soon as he saw her putting her fingers in her ears. That was 10 years ago, so I have no idea if they still have them or if they would have a set that would fit a baby. Another thing is to make sure everyone goes to the bathroom before you get on the boat (and hopefully don't do a lot of drinking right before and during the cruise). Both times we did the cruise, we were on the boat for about an hour and a half as we always checked in at the earliest time possible to get our money's worth.
