Epcot Beers Of The World Ride

QT Pooh - I loved the "Bathrooms Around the World" comment! That was great. I, too, find myself in that predicament!! Gotta go, gotta go right now!!

I'll never forget Germany when I stood with my hands under the faucet waiting for the water to come on ... and realizing that they were NOT automatic in that bathroom!!!

I was going to post the link where someone photographed most (if not all) of the bathrooms in WDW .... but couldn't find it!

Anyway DRINK UP :drinking1 and hope you don't need to :worship: the porcelain goddess since the bathrooms aren't as large in World Showcase. :teeth:

How are the beers here [Animal Kingdom]...are they light, dark? I have recently heard of the Dawa Bar next to Tusker House where they play live african music and I cant wait to try it out. I see a beer called the Safari something or the other on most of the menus here that I would like to try. Thanks for the tip!

Safari Amber is a medium color and quite flavorful. The live African drummers are awesome, as are the acrobats. That's our favorite part of AK. Tusker is also a medium color and a little more unique in flavor. Also, let me say that Tusker is Kenyan, rather than South African as I said earlier.

Oh, come on, admit it! You're a beer snob! I know I am. I'm the kind of guy who gets all excited when I hear of a new restaurant/bar with over 50 beers available, just to be disappointed when I learn that they are "coors, coors light, coors ultra, coors dry, michelob, michelob light, etc., etc., etc." Such was my reaction, for the most part, to WDW. With as many visitors as WDW has, and as many foreign visitors, and as much emphasis as Epcot places on food and alcohol, beer gets the shaft.

Be sure to drink the Tusker in AK at bar next to the Tusker House, and there's another South African beer at AKL. Both very good and interesting and I've never seen them anywhere else.

As for American beers in Epcot, that's a tough one. I'd be hard pressed to pay $5 for a Sierra Nevada in Epcot when that would almost buy me a 6 pack at the Publix on 182. But it wouldn't be hard to find several regional beers so that there would be something new and interesting for everyone.

Actually, there's a place in Syracuse called the Blue Tusk, in Armory Square, that has 69 beers on tap (because there wasn't room for 70) plus a lot of bottled stuff. Pure Heaven!!!!! By the way I'm nearly 60 and still don't have any intentions of slowing down!

As for the beer snobs..... bring it on. The more beers the better. There is no such thing as too many choices, just too little time to sample them all.

The reason I like Epcot for drinking beer, though is it reminds me of tailgate partys. I'm a Bills season ticket holder (have been for years) and the best thing about Bills games is the tailgate partys. OK, OK, let's not start on telling me how bad the Bills are. I'm there every (except when I'm at WDW) home game. Groan :cheer2: :cheer2: :rotfl2:

And to the person who mentioned the Bathrooms of The World Tour. Well, of course! That's the risk you take.

Good Lord, I do love beer. Drinking some Molsons now! :grouphug:

:rolleyes1 :drinking:

France does have beer "1664" you can get at the wine cart.

For the MOST part beers are from the contries. I don't think Carlsberg is made in Norway (They took away the Norwegian Beer)

Also, Stella in the UK is not a British Beer.

It is even more fun at the Food and Wine Festival. They sell little glasses so you can try more....

I've had the beer at France, but on my second trip around so I never remembered the name. Thanks for the info. Now I know what it is!

With WDW's clout, you'd think they'd be able to get a more interesting beer selection, especially from the U.K. This selection is basically what I can get at the Kroger. "Beers around the Kroger"? That's not quite right.

The Animal Kingdom and the AKL have a couple of South African beers that are very interesting. Be sure to add this to your beer tour.

If any of you are driving in along I-10 and have a little time to kill, head into Destin or Sandestin to the Wine World of Destin. They have about 130 beers from everywhere, especially the UK, Germany and Belgium. Not a typical selection.

My thoughts exactley. Sammy is the best beer in America and 2nd best in the world.

The first? Well, it black with a creamy head. :drinking1

SETTLE DOWN NOW, let's not get crazy. While sam Adams is a good beer, it is FAR from being 2nd best tin the world. A few that are far ahead of Sam are:

Magic Hat #9
Harp
Boddingtons
Presidente

I totally agree, and I'd hate to say it, but I'm pretty dissapointed with Disney's beer selection for the most part. Sure Sam Adams is drinkable compared to many other mass produced beers out there, but there are so many great US micros out there that could be added. Sure you can't please everyone, but choose some of the more popular brewers like Victory, Rogue etc ...

For the UK, I'd hope to at least see some Fullers ESB, Flowers bitter, Sammy Smith, etc ...

Don't get me started on the lack of Belgians and other European brews.

I don't want to come off as a beer snob. It's still great that they offer a bit of a selection already, but I'm surprised by the lack of variety for a place like WDW.

:thumbsup2

Well said. I forgot about Rogue.... Sam Smith Nut Brown Ale is excellent.

Presidente? Presidente? You just lost your vote.

Presidente? :sad2:

Do any of you know if Strongbow is still served in WDW? I lived for three months in London, and fell in love with this cider-beer--it tastes just like apple cider, and I'd love to have some again when I go.

Last time I was there (about a month ago), yes, it was served in the UK in Epcot.

Excellent beer. I wonder based on your response if you've even tried it?

Yep, France's main macrobrew is Kronenbourg 1664. I don't know if France is known for any other beers?

As for the Carlsberg, I'm pretty sure it's a Dutch brew, but it sort of makes sense to serve in Norway, as it seems to be served all over that area of Europe. When I was in Denmark and Sweden, all I saw was Heineken and Carlsberg. They actually had a Carslberg 'Black Label' that wasn't too bad.

can't wait for F& W fest! We have changed our touring plans to work in another day at Epcot. :teeth: I counted 11 countries in WS. We could definately do this over two days, but in one day out in the Fla. sunshine spells Migrane quality headache for me. :sad2: Our plan is to share a full beer at each stop- but also partake in may of the sample beers at the F&W fest. Thought about doing the Sam Adams beer seminar but decided against it. I already know how to make beer, and I don't want to waste time learning about it if i can be drinking it. :cool1:
They shoud DEFINATELY make T-shirts!
How brave do you have to be to try mission space after beers of the world?

Yes, I have. I was in the Dominican once and they offered Presidente and Soborana (sp?). I had both. Better than many beers Ive had but in no way can it compare to a Sam Adams. Obviously, its just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

ME TOO! I've never been to one and we can devote at least 1 complete day to it, then eat at Chefs de France! What a wonderful day that will be, especially if I can remember it afterwards! :dance3: :dance3:

Thanks to all you wonderful people for pointing the event out to me. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Better than Sam Adams;
Stella Artois (belgium)
Tuborg (Denmark)
Sapporo (Japan)
Moosehead (Canada)
Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale (Canada)
Rickards Pale Ale (Canada)
Maclays (Scotland)
Belhaven Twisted Thistle (Scotland)
Radeberger Pils (Germany)
MacAndrews Stock Ale (England)
Kilkenny (Ireland)
Smithwicks (Ireland)

Can't decide if I want to show this thread to DH or not -- homebrewer, VERY particular about his brews. I'm thinking no. He doesn't need this much fun, he already spent today @ a beer festival & is happy enough w/ his tie-dye, beertopia shirt he picked up to take with when we head for the world in a week! :rotfl2:
