Pot of Dreams!
I got us a "Pot of Dreams" yesterday to save all of our £1 and £2s for honeymoon spends, the label said it would be £1000 if full of £2s so we are hoping for at least £500 if we can fill it with a mixture of £s! This is good as we can't get the money out, we started it off with £6 last night
My Wedding Dress Box
My wedding dress box arrived on Friday, all ready for the lady in the shop to pack it after checking the acid free paper for any marks thanks to advice from another UK bride!!!
All ready for Brian to carry for his hand luggage hehe.
DCL
I have joined a FE exchange on here, and received our FE which I am really pleased with!
And also a pillowcase to get signed by the crew and characters as a nice keepsake from our Disneymoon
My "Reception" Shoes
As you know I have my pretty sparkly peep toes to wear at the ceremony, but I have always loved the coloured shoes look for a bride after seeing so many amazing photos on here...but Scott doesn't agree. So I have decided to wear my BA shoes for the ceremony, and then change into some blue shoes for the reception, and after seeing a fellow UK bride's latest creation on her FB site I knew it had to be those!
So yesterday I found some shoes which look hideous now - blue velvet! - but are perfect base for the crystals.
Here they are now
They were a bargain at what I thought was £24, last ones were my size! When I got to the till...£12!!!
I sent these on Monday and Sophie received them yesterday so look forward to seeing how they look in the "after" photos!
She is going to use blue crystals, but then AB (irridescent?! sp!) clear crystals to add the word Mrs on the side like this:
And she also suggested a hidden Mickey head on the back too...so excited for these and I know they will also be unique to me! Thanks Sophie!!!
Bridesmaid Shoes
So scouring every single shoe shop yesterday for my own, I also got looking for BM shoes, I think I have decided ivory will work best with our theme, and found these in Next, which look really high but are quite comfy with the platform:
Here is Keeley modelling her dress with the bouquet and shoes, sorry it is dark (And we had just done a workout!)
I think ivory shoes work well with the flowers, we were thinking of customising the heels with crystals but I think they look perfect without now!
Centre Pieces
I was inspired for our centre pieces at a Thai restaurant on Friday night by these:
I love the blue ... not sure what they are called ... gel balls?! haha. But I was thinking maybe more of a deeper vase, filled with water and one of our orchids floating on top, maybe a bit like this:
But I think a single orchid? And the LED lights for when we sit outside on the patio
Does anyone know how you can make an "inspiration board" putting all of the photos I have saved into one file? I have loads but need to start arranging them ready for our Planning Session in March.
First DIY Project
I was inspired reading through another PJ to start making things myself, and a trip to hobbycraft yesterday for my first materials! I am going to make Tears of Joy packets as everyone keeps telling my how emotional they will be on the day! So will give everyone 2 tissues, then wrap the packet in a blue ribbon, secured with labels with our monogram on....I will ask Dad if he can do our labels tonight! I will post photos when I am finished
Wedding Breakfast
We have been thinking a lot about our wedding meal and with a few fussy eaters, we are now thinking a buffet will work better for us. This way people can choose what they want as well as how much or little, and I guess it will keep the reception more relaxed? With only 30 of us this is the atmosphere we want.
So another to do list is decide what buffet options we want to try A bonus for this is I think it will work out cheaper
We are hoping to sit outside on the patio for dinner so not sure how this works with a buffet? More research to do!
Flowers Update
Today i paid the deposit for the rest of our flowers and we have been booked in the diary for the week commencing 20th August for production to start. Excited to receive them but glad they won't be sent to us until nearer the time as the wedding wardrobe is gradually filling up...I think it will end up as the wedding room?! lol.
Just thought I would share some photos of another bride who had a similar bouquet to us made by the same company, just lighter coloured orchids:
What do you think?
The only problem now is that I am thinking maybe I should of added the orchids to the BM bouquets too aswell as mine? This will increase the price and 8 times is a lot but I think they look quite nice :S
But then with the orchids, we would have to take out the large crystals I have centreing my roses at the moment? xxx
