Emma & Scott's Wishes Wedding-10/16/12-WP/GF-*UPDATE-Planning Trip TR*

Hey,

Part of what I was going to say the other day was that I loved your momento from the engagement photos at the beach. Its a lovely photo frame with the painting! Bless! hehe

Your BM dresses are gorge! Thats one thing I found really difficult and I only have 2 BMs... I can't imagine what it was like doing it for 4!!!! But they all look really good... and it suits them all! :)

For shoes.. my vote is with the Benjamin Adams ones... every girl deserves a bit of bling on her day! :) YAY!

Love the STDs! Very cool! :)

Your UK venue looks beautiful... inside and out! :) We are doing a similar thing... however, DFs parents have paid for us to go on another honeymoon in August... so, we are going to have our UK party the day before we go! My only worry with that is... its about 2 and a half months after the wedding? Do you think people would still come?

I LOVE YOUR DRESS... its a similar style to the BMs gathering at the side... which i think is a clever thing to do as it ties you all together without being too obvious! :) My dress has one shoulder, and so do my BMs dresses.

(Im beginning to feel a little better about this post now... its still not as long as the original!)

Your flowers are gorge... but I think i did manage to say that before... I love them!

Lastly... i think the coat hangers are really cute! Im having to lay off ordering anything else... as with all the gifts I have brought the girls to say thank you... I will have no more room in my case! hehe

OKay... Looking forward to the next instalment!!!

Faye xx

Hi Faye :)

Thank you, I love looking at that painting and photo every time I walk down our stairs  The Poly beach will always be a special place for us now.

I have 8 BMs!!!! It is just too hard to get them all together for a photo lol. We are a group of 8 close friends and I really couldn't choose between them so as they are all making the effort to come out to our wedding I asked them all, plus my sister! I agree that was the most difficult thing though...so far! I am so glad they all like the dress and I think it suits all of the different shapes too.

Thank you for your vote, kept those Diaz!!! Lovely and sparkley, plus more comfy!

Ahhh that is nice of them where are you off to for your second one? Yes I think people will come to celebrate with you of course, and how exciting you have another holiday to look forward to as my mum did warn my at the weekend that she thinks I am going to get depressed when the wedding and honeymoon is all over...1st anniversary trip to use our annual passes ;)

Haha it is so hard not to order loads of things from Etsy, I think I should stop looking as like you say I won't fit everything in! I need to look for bridesmaids presents but was thinking of giving these at our UK reception, just with a poem for them to say thank you during our ceremony maybe.

I love your dress, so pretty!!! Thanks for reading and look forward to reaing more of your plans too! :thumbsup2

Thank you to all of you still reading along with me :)

Shoes
I decided to keep the Benjamin Adams Diaz shoes, just love the sparkle! Thank you to all of you who commented and chose them too!

MK and Epcot Bridal Portrait
With a bit of kind persuasion from Tabz we have decided to add on the MK and Epcot bridal portrait sessions again, I know it is expensive but hey this is a once in a lifetime chance to do it and what an amazing experience it will be! Sadly, because we are not using Disney photography for our wedding, we cannot confirm a date for our session until 45 days before so we have to wait until September to do so. I hope one of the 7 dates we can do is free, this is the photo that I just love (Taken from a trip report, sorry if it is yours but is is just amazing!)

MKShoot.jpg

How perfect is it?! A fairytale come true! So fingers all crossed for a date for us I do not want to change photograohers though as I love Randys work!

Disneymoon

We have rented DVC points to stay at BLT for our last 2 nights, with a theme park view of the castle! I am so excited for this We loved our stay here in May although only for 1 night, it is so easy staying at a monorail resort and we and cannot wait to watch Wishes from our balcony
BLTviewnight.jpg

Or to wake up looking at the castle!!!
BLTviewday.jpg

We will reduce our reservation with Disney at SSR so do not have to pay that much more so very happy and so pleased we were able to book the MK view! :thumbsup2

Flowers

I have decided to have silk flowers for our wedding, this will save us a lot of money and means we can use them at the wedding, MK shoot (Hopefully!!) and also at the UK reception, plus we can keep them forever!!!!

We have ordered and received one of teh BM bouquets and also a corsage for my Mum so we could see what they look like before ordering everything.

Bridesmaid BouquetIvory roses with clear crystal centres and blue crystal stems to accent a bit of colour and match my flowers.

Mum's Corsage
Blue galaxy orchids with ivory roses and crystal accents

P1030969.jpg

P1030963.jpg

I think they do look pretty life like and they are perfect for us as we will be able to use them more than once.

We are going to go ahead and order the remaining 7 BM bouquets, my bouquet which will be the orchids and roses with clear crystal centres (same size as the ones on Mum's corsage, not the big ones from the BM bouquets) and a few blue crystals to match the BMs, wrapped in the same blue silk but with crystals wrapped around too.

Then for the men, Scott will have a large ivory rose with the same crystal centre as my bouquet, with a few of the smaller roses (Same as Mums corsage) and the blue crystal spray, then just single ivory roses for my Dad, step dad, Best man and Usher.

These won't be delivered until 6 weeks before the wedding but I am glad I have found such an amazing vendor to order from, very fast delivery, excellent communication and able to spread the total cost over a few months

Tribute to my Grandad - RAF pin badge

My Grandad alwaysused to wear an RAF pin badge so I wanted to find one to pin onto my bouquet as a special memento, well today I found these!

RAFpin.jpg

I think these are perfect with the heart in the middle so I have ordered one for me and my sister (MOH) and one of my BMs who has a lot of family in the RAF to pin onto the stems of our bouquets, and also one for Scott and my Dad to wear. And all the money goes to such a good cause

Haha I know 8 is a lot but I hope we get some nice photos and I really couldn't choose between them. Now I need to look for a little present each, I love your idea of a card with a thank you poem in though.

Speak to you soon! xxx

We had confirmation last night that our complimentary room night has been book snow all of the UK bookings have been uploaded onto the system

We didn't do a room block as most of our guests had already booked direct with Disney to take advantage of the free DDP and 14 day tickets for the price of 7 so we had to wait but I am now please to confirm we will be staying at the Grand Floridian on our wedding night, very excited for this :lovestruc

Also takign our overnight bag to the GF during the morning of our wedding day gives DFi somethign to do hehe.

Hey Hun,

Hope you had a good christmas! and bring on the new year! ::cheer2:

The wedding night hotel will be a surprise, I have no idea where we will be sneaking off to! Somewhere alone for 3 days! :) Will be nice after the wedding!
We will be staying in a villa when we get there in August, near the venue of the actual wedding! :)

I think the portrait session at MK and Epcot will be fab, the photos I have seen are all beautiful!

Silly question but what are DVC points? and renting them? I don't get it!?

YAY, for the grand floridian on your wedding night... we have been their for the breakfast ... its very cute! :) So beautiful! :)

The Tribute to your Gdad is very sweet, he would be very proud and honoured.

The silk flowers are one thing that we did think of... I LOVE flowers and I am a little disappointed that we won't be able to bring them home. However, I am thinking about storing them at a friends house in America. So at least I can see them when I visit!? lol

Hi Faye, we had a lovely Christmas thank you, hope you did too? :santa:

Awww that will be a lovely surprise and lovely for just the 2 of you as you said.

DVC is Disney Vacation Club which is like a timeshare agreement but at a Disney property, the higher end ones! So people rent out their points if they will not use them in a year which works out much cheaper than booking direct with Disney!

I love flowers too which is why I was a bit worried about the silk ones but I think they look fab still so happy with them! I will have real ones for our centrepieces though :)

Great idea to store yours in US so you can visit, any excuse to go back ;) xxx

Hello everyone, hope you all had magical Christmasses? :santa:

Poor Scotty has worked every day apart from Christmas day, so I have had lots of time to do more wedding research!

Wishing Tree
I was watching some US Four Weddings and one of the brides had my blue orchids and I love her centrepieces, excuse the bad quality taken on my phone of the paused TV!!!
43d59058.jpg

190f1b1d.jpg

69d86050.jpg

I do not want tall centrepieces though so my newest plan is to have a Wishing Tree instead of a guest book. We will have a silver or ivory tree, decorated with the crystals and blue orchids, and these are my favourite wish tags so far (Love Etsy!!!)

wishtag.jpg

With blue ribbon though.

Here is another photo I saved to add to our planning kit but imagine the purple in blue!

Vegas_Bachelorette_022.jpg

As we have less than 30 guests I think this is a lovely alternative to a guest book, and we can keep all of our "Wishes" to add to our wedding memory box

Centrepieces

I would love to have floating candles, with orchids in the vases for our centre pieces, something like this:

Vegas_Bachelorette_066.jpg

I think put the vases on a circular mirror and then some scatter crystals too.

Then the lanterns I posted earlier in my thread, white chair covers with blue bows, and a blue and purple madd hatter cake!

What do you guys think? Anything else I should add to my decorations list?

Father of the Bride Present

During another Etsy session I found these cufflinks which I think I am going to order for my Dad

7bd52560.jpg

Love them and something he can keep!

Mum and Bridesmaids Gifts

I also found these on Etsy which I think are a lovely idea, I would order blue BM dresses and have their names and the wedding date on them too, and one each for the mums, I think these would also be fab in our "Getting ready" photos when we are all together?

3b9d4168.jpg

Countdown!!!

I am now the proud owner of an iPhone and the first app I downloaded...WDW countdown...here it is for our planning trip!

In 3 days I can say "We get married THIS YEAR!" :dance3:

Hi Faye!

Happy new year :) I am missing the DIS while I battle with year end at work but thought I'd have a quick catch up today. I love US Four Weddings too, much better than the UK version and I like how they have to rank instead of score other brides so they can't cheat!!!!

I am thinking of engraved ones for DFi too as his present, need another morning on Etsy not work! lol.

Hehe I do indeed have the Etsy app, and photobucket so I am all set for PJ!

xxx

Happy 2012 Everyone!!! We can now say "We get married this year", very exciting!

We went up to Edinburgh for New Years Eve so on the journey home we finally completed our DFTW planning kit and I am so glad we seemed to agree on most things. :thumbsup2

Table Names
We have chosen Disney couples for our tables names instead of number, our choices are:

Sweetheart table - Mickey and Minnie
Then we have 4 tables of 7 (28 guests):
Lady & the Tramp (My fave!)
Simba & Nala (Scotty's fave!)
Lilo & Stitch (Although we know technically not a couple, but we love Stitch!)
Beauty & the Beast

Favours
We are going to try and get the Mickey head rice krispy cakes personalised with names as favours, if this is not possible then chocolate Mickey heads instead, we thought something guests can eat as then one thing less to have to transport back! Has anyone had the rice krispy cakes as their favours? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

Candles
We are going to ask Disney to provide both the unity candles and memorial candles (One to remember our grandparents and 1 for Scott's dad), hopefully we can see some photos at our planning session in March, and then if too expensive or we don't like them we have 6 months to get them elsewhere.
Has anyone seen the candles Disney are able to provide?

Cake Knife and Server and Toasting Flutes
We are going to borrow the cake servers from DFTW, again we will ask to see photos in March. I love the castle etched toasting flutes Aribas Bros sell (Saw them in Maddies Dad and Sarah S's wedding report...beautiful!) I would love the castle on them as that seems to be our main "Theme" as it will be on our aisle runner, wedding stationary and wishing tree tags too. I would like "Happily Ever After" and our names and weddign date engraved on the back, this shop is on our must visit list for March planning trip now! :goodvibes

Songs
With the help of my iPod we chose our wedding songs too last night:
Parents entrance - Zip A Dee Doo Dah (Song of the South) I love this but when I told my Mum she was surprised it wasn't somethign romantic?! :confused3
Officiant/Scott and his groomsmen - You've Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story)
Bridesmaids - When You Wish Upon A Star
Bride - Pachelbels Canon in D
Unity Candle - Always (Lilo and Stitch 2) or if we are unable to have that Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Recessional - Main Street Electrical Parade!!! - although after reading this will be replaced with Spectromagic from Summer 2012, maybe we should change this?

I also love So Close from Enchanted, so maybe have that for parents instead! And my other options for the recessioinal are I See th Light ffrom Tangled, or Ever Ever After from Enchanted (I brought the Enchanted soundtrack over Christmas and I love it :lovestruc)

Did I say we had decided on songs?! lol. Almost!!!! :rotfl:

We are only having the organist at the Wedding Pavilion at the moment, but I quite like the idea of adding maybe a harp or flute, depending on budget!

Transport
We will hire a limousine to transfer our wedding party from SSR to the WP, and me and my Dad will arrive in a vintage car.

Staged Exit
We will have rose petals for our guests to throw.

Characters
From day 1 I knew I wanted at least Mickey to come to our reception And we have both agreed we prefer the photos and interaction with 2 characters, as you probably know Stitch is a firm favourite since our trip in May so we are going to aks if we can have Stitch and Mickey, and if Stitch doesn't have a posh frock to put on then maybe Mickey in a hawaiian outfit to match Stitch, which will also bring together our Poly engagement to the wedding too!

Food and Drink
We are going to chose 1 tier of cake flavours each at our planning session after tasting!!! I am so lookign forward to this part!!!!! :yay:

Then we have chosen the fresh fruit and yoghurt dip display for our pre reception, want our guests to be hungry for dinner!

Our wedding meal will be served plated. Appetiser we are going to taste Italian Risotto and scallops and Pork Tenderloin Remake.

Salad - Caesar plated tableside

Duet Entree - beef filet and chicken breast (Menu says with risotto but we want to swap that for potatoes as we may have risotto for appetiser)

Dessert - we plan to serve the wedding cake, maybe with the Mr and Mrs Strawberries on the side!

Bar - we are going to have a package bar with just house beer and wine, but look into the option of adding just vodka as an option as I know most of our guests drink that!

Etsy Update
Today I have ordered my Dads cufflinks and 40 wishing tree tags with blue ribbon on so I will add photos for you all when they arrive

I have also provided the names and dates and photos of the dresses for the BM glasses so they are ordered aswell :thumbsup2

Aisle Runner
I am working with a vendor to create a personalised aisle runner, it will be 60" wide in ivory, and will have the phrase "Love, Laughter and Happily Ever After" painted on by the WP door in blue to match our BM dresses, and then she is also going to add a castle and some sparkly fireworks using glitter and crystals, excited to see the proof when she designs it for us, I will share a photo with you when we get it! We will also have Emma & Scott, October 16th, 2012 at the bottom. This will be lined with rose petals in the WP. We also plan to use our floating candle centrepieces to decorate the WP, thanks to seeing Hayleys beautiful photos!

We are also using the castle with fireworks on our wedding stationery as Wishes is just the best and we got engaged whilst watchign it so will always be special. My Dad is designing our invites but as I keep giving him new ideas and things to add on he is waiting a bit longer before he starts bless him!

Flights
I couldn't wait any longer to book the flights as the prices hadn't budged since before Christmas so we booked on Friday...8th - 26th with Virgin Atlantic, got a good deal using miles + money, so pleased!!!!

We chose our seats and have got 62A and C, right at the back of the plane where they are only in 2s :)

Monogram
Thanks to the lovely Tabz we now have an awesome monogram:

ES_with_Mickey_draft_9.jpg

Love it and can't wait to use it for the first time on our next newsletters we hope to send out in March!

I think that is all for now, thank you to those of you reading along, I love all of your support and helpful suggestions! xxx

Hey Courtenay!

Thank you, the vendor is called Event Bella and I am working with a lady called Tamara who has been fab so far! I got the quote from another photo of a DIS Bride's, she had it with Tink on :) But we wanted to match it to our "Castle theme", I have now sent her the colours we want, and the castle we like so hopefully not too much longer to wait but I have told her no rush as we have 10 months, plus maybe that means I can pay next month after all of my Etsy shopping this month hehe. The price is $331 for a 60" wide 75ft long runner, with the phrase, our names and date, the castle and glittery fireworks added.

Her last reply to me this week was "We can definately match your colours. We can do the castle in platinum with silver iridescent glitter to make it sparkle!"

So excited to see it! She is working on some sample fireworks and will email me photos so I will share with you when I get it.

yes SO excited hehe, are you? I might have to pop down on your wedding day to the GF so I can try and get a peek at you!!!! :cutie:
Off to catch up with your plans now!
