Emma & Scott's Wishes Wedding-10/16/12-WP/GF-*UPDATE-Planning Trip TR*

OK, so by now you know that I got my dress (you popped over to my PJ already :woohoo:). And your dress is so amazing. OMG, how beautiful. You look gorgeous in it. Isn't it so fun finding the dress? I am glad it's done though; one less decision to make.

I am sure your dad is happy that he is a printer, as well as you guys; my goodness that is going to save you a ton of money in which you can take to Disney to make a more magical wedding. Is he doing the invitations too? That would be great!

We are going to be staying at the Boardwalk Inn Resort (it is so nice, I had never been before until this last visit when we did our site visits). That will be where our complimentary room is too. We finally got the room block done and it was tricky. That's really it for now, and I think that's enough, it has been busy. I am excited to meet our WP; we signed our contract a few days ago so we should be hearing from him/her soon! I'll keep you updated. :dance3:

Hi Courtenay!

Thank you, yes it was fun finding the dress, and you are right, you just know when you have found "the one" :goodvibes When will your dress be ready for you to try on again? I have to wait until March, good for my diet though!!!

Yep my Dad will do all of our stationary for us, we are very lucky as it will save us lots of money! Hopefully we can come up with a design to use and incorporate the blue colour scheme.

Have you heard from your planner yet? All very real now isn't it!!!

I woudl love to stay at the Boardwalk on a future trip as it looks lovely and I love the atmosphere around that area. 1st anniversary trip maybe?!

Ur ring is so sparkly :cool2:... from reading my pj u should know that i love everything bedazzled :rotfl: Ur dress is beautiful :lovestruc U have some great ideas already :thumbsup2 Keep the updates coming popcorn::

That is my dream proposal!! Since my favorite place to watch wishes is the poly beach, i always say the only thing to make it better would be a proposal haha..I am loving all of your plans so far. The dress looks gorgeous on you! I really love Maggie Sottero also and I have a feeling when the time comes I will wear one of her dresses too. Your disneymoon looks like it will be great, a cruise seems like the prefect way to relax as newlyweds and then returning to disney will be a fun thing to look forward to after. Can't wait to read more about your plans :goodvibes

Aww thank you, it was perfect, Scotty did well! :lovestruc I really love Maggie Sottero too, and all of her dresses look lovely on, they are all I tried on! You will be a beautiful Maggie bride too!!! Thanks for reading.

Blue and Purple Colour Scheme
Over the weekend we agreed that we will incorporate purple into our scheme. We have been looking at floral ideas and have found a perfect flower, we just hope it will be in season in October and not too expensive! A blue orchid:

I like these bouquets so will print them off and take them along to our planning session as inspiration

I would love to add the Mickey head crystals to the centre of the roses too :)

And we both agreed on simple centre pieces, something like this:

miranda-and-bens-wedding-017.jpg

I thought the candles would also work well when we move out to the Patio for our Dessert Party.

Cake
Our 2 favourite cakes were a Mad Hatter 2 tier, in blue and purple, or the happily ever after cake:

happilyeveraftercake.jpg

But today thanks to a DIS Bride (Sorry I have forgotten who it was, I read it on Friday though) I found a perfect combination of the 2:

cake-1.jpg

Mad Hatter cake with "And they lived happily ever after" written on one of the tiers... PERFECT!

Thank you for sharing fellow DisBride...that is why I love these boards! :thumbsup2]

Lanterns

I also really liked how another bride had decorated the Whitehall Room with lanterns, inspired by Tangled

lanterns.jpg

We would have these in blue, purple and white though, and I think they would match the centrepieces perfectly.

Bridal Hanger
I have been looking at bridal hangers for a few weeks on Etsy and today was pay day so I treated myself and ordered this one, but it will say Mrs Vaughan with the 2 hearts at the top I will share a photo with you all when it arrives but here is the sample

hanger.jpg

I look forward to a photo of my dress hanging on here!!!!

Scott's Suit

The suit shop had ordered in Scott's size for him to try on in the chosen style so he tried it on on Saturday and I think he looked very smart!!!

ScottysSuit.jpg

He loves the material and style so we are going to order them this weekend hopefully if we can get over there with his best man and usher. They get a free shirt and tie, he has chosen a white shirt and then a navy blue tie which has a swirly black pattern on it, hard to describe, I'll add a photo when we have them!

Only one problem though, my Dad didn't feel comfortable wearign the suit, and the man in the shop said it was because of the shiny material which is a bit too young for him hehe. Also the trousers are slim fit and my Dad has size 12 feet so is a bit self conscious. Not a major problem though, he has chosen a normal navy suit so will be in the same colour, without the shine though, and with wider legs! lol. I don't think it will matter as I guess he will be with my in most of the photos anyway?

Our First Wedding Holiday Card!!!
Our neice and flower girl Ruby made us a card now they have booked their holiday...so cute!

rooscard.jpg

Thank you for those who are following along with our plans :grouphug:

CONGRATULATIONS! I agree - why wait? ;)

Love those cake pops at your engagement celebration and LOVE how you framed the Photopass pics of you with the Disney print you bought. So smart! :lovestruc

Thank you :)

My friend did a great job of baking the cake pops, and they were so yummy too!!!!

Thanks for reading xxx

Yesterday I received my bridal hanger, very quick delivery to the UK, and I love it!

bridalhanger.jpg

Can't wait for a photo of my dress on it :)

I also ordered lots of Rhinestones so that i can make my flower girl, MOH, BMs and Mum t shirts to wear the morning of the wedding, I chose blue Rhinestones to match our theme and Disney font. I also got myself a few to wear on the Disneymoon, happily ever after, just married and a Minnie head with a hibiscus, perfect for our Poly engagement! I hope they are easy to iron onto the tops!!! Just as I was ordering I spotted the mickey heads to go on the soles of your shoes so I also ordered those in blue for me and Scott. I wonder how long it takes for someone to spot our hidden Mickeys!!!

Will share some photos when they arrive.

Music
We have been trying to decide whether to have a DJ at our reception or just the iPod set up and have decided an iPod will be fine based on price!!!

We were thinking a DJ would help with our announcements and help to get the party started as the saying goes, but for $900 more than an iPod I don't think it is worth it, we only have 30 guests anyway, and the big party will be our UK reception!

So now we need to add creating a playlist to the to do list, and I think back it up on to 2 iPods just incase one doesn't work!

We also need to decide who will do the MC. Our planner suggested asking a friend and then another Disney bride told me they used Major Domo who was worth every penny so I will look into him too! Not too sure who we could ask from our family and friends?

Surprise Package
Yesterday we received a lovely package from the US, always excites me! It was our signed LOA and a lovely letter from Pam our wedding consultant with these in:

WDWAP.jpg

Our vouchers to exchange for our Annual Passes :cool1:

We are hoping to use these on our first anniversary trip. but as I have recently got a new job and found out October is the busiest month with 3 deadlines to meet we may have to go in September or November! Lucky the wedding is all booked so they have to honour my 3 weeks leave. :thumbsup2

Bridesmaid Dresses

I thought I would just have a look online one morning last week and I saw a UK department store had a 30% off sale with free delivery...and I found (I think and hope!) the perfect dresses for my BMs! We also used a discount code of 15% off , so a bargain price of only £53 each and I think perfect. The style should suit everyone as the side brooch detail draws attention from belly, and also it has straps if people didn't want strapless.

All of the sizes were available so I ordered them!!! :woohoo: The style is the same as my dress too so i think it should all match?!

These dresses were delivered the next day, luckily I was working from home so was in to collect them!

Here is me modelling one as I couldn't wait for the girls to come and try them on!

Can't wait to see the girlies in them, but guessing it will be hard to get them all together, will share some photos of them with you though :)

Sorry for the multiple updates today but I thought I would just look for Flower Girl dresses in the sale after the bargain BM dresses and great service, and I found this cute little dress which I thought was perfect, the jewels will match the BM brooches

FlowerGirlDress.jpg

I also couldn't resist these tiaras, I thought perfect for our fairytale wedding, love the heart!

FGtiara.jpg

And these fur shrugs for them to wear at our UK reception to keep warm and snuggled! Love the sparkly button on these.

FGshrug.jpg

We will have one flower girl, our neice Ruby who will be 7, at the wedding but my little cousin Meadow is no longer coming. She will be at the UK reception though so we thought it would be nice for them to have matching outfits.

Let's hope they fit!

My Tiara

I collected my tiara on Saturday and here it is:
mytiara.jpg

Really pleased with it and hoping it will be all pretty and sparkly in the Florida sun :cool2: Now to try and decide on how I will have my hair!

Bridesmaid Dresses
6 of my bridesmaids have tried on their dresses now, just a few were too big so ordered some more last night, hopefully they will come as quickly as the other ones did They all really liked the dress though, the colour and how it fits so really happy! :thumbsup2

Here are some if them modelling it for you!

dresses.jpg

And my sister...who didn't want her face in the photo, sorry!

Keldress.jpg

have told my sister she can choose the shoes to match as MOH.

Hopefully by the weekend I will have 8 lovely dresses which fit the girls in my wardrobe ready for the big day :dance3:

My Shoes
I saw a lovely pair of peep toe sling back heels at the bridal shop on Saturday but they didn't have my size, well they had a UK 7 which I always fit in, but I think they looked a bit too small, so I think I need an 8 (Which is a european 41 so many bridal shoes come up smaller?!)

So I have now ordered these in a size 41, ivory satin, Barbie by pink paradox:

barbie.jpg

If I keep these ones, I will get the heels customised in crystals

And then I spotted these in the sale, Benjamin Adams Diaz

diaz.jpg

I love these but they are a size 7 so not too sure if they will fit, hoping maybe as different designer they might do

But then these are also white, not ivory? Will see what they look like when they arrive...come on Mr Postman please!

Bridesmaid dresses are gorgeous! The girls look so pretty. You know, everything on your PJ is so pretty...love it all. We received our vouchers for our annual passes also, about two weeks ago. Aren't you so excited to use them???!!!!! Thanks for the update. Keep it coming!

Hi Courtenay!

Aww thank you, so glad we have the dresses sorted now as that was my biggest worry ... with 8 of them!

SO excited to use our APs, trying to figure out when will be best to plan for our belated 1st anniversary trip and thinking maybe for my birthday aswell (5th november) as we will get to see the Christmas celebrations too!

Thank you for reading along :cutie:

First of all...it is now only 93 days until our planning trip...DDD!!!! :cool1:

My Shoes
My shoes have now arrived and I love them both but must make a decision and send one back!

I do prefer the Diaz as they are a bit lower heeled and I love all the sparkle, the sun shining on them is so pretty And I am only in my living room with light through the window, imagine the real Florida sun!!!!! The only concern I have with these is that they are white and my dress is ivory, do you ladies think that will look silly?

I also love the Barbie's as I know I can get the heels customised, but they are a bit higher and I also think narrower, Diaz are more comfy - well from the 5 mins I hve worn them haha.

Here are some photos so see if anyone can help me decide please?!

I think I am going to keep the diaz ones...love the sparkle!!!

Flower Girl Dresses
The flower girl dresses also arrived, here is Ruby modelling hers (Slightly too big at the moment though) with her shrug and tiara on...little princess!!!

roo.jpg

The shrug will only be for the UK reception as I think it will be warm enough at the actual wedding.

I love the tiaras!!!! :yay:

The dresses are very creased though as you can see, do you think it is worth getting them steamed over in Florida? We will hand them up for the next 10 months so hopefully they will fall out a bit but do not want it creased in the photos. My dress is chiffon so will not need to be steamed so I haven't looked into it at all, any ideas?

Bridesmaid Dresses

Over the weekend the girls have all been to try on their dresses and I now have 8 correct sized dresses in my wardrobe ready to go, so pleased!!!!

I cleared out the wardrobe in teh spare room ready to fill up with wedding things!!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you to the few of you following along so far, hopefully we get some new joiners!

Emz- I think you should stick with the Diaz, they are so pretty and you can't beat that sparkle. I like them both realy but you need to have the sparkle on your big day.

Love the flower girl dresses too, very elegant. You may even want to take the shrugs to Florida b/c it's air condition crazy there and if you go inside you might freeze...but you may be used to cooler weather. I am always cold though and I grew up in Florida.

Thanks for the updates! Love em!

I can't believe it! I just wrote you a MASSIVE post! from another UK bride... and lost the lot!

Basically I love everything! Your engagement was adorable! beautiful of him! :) Your dress and the BM dresses are so well matched! Your colour scheme is beautiful too... very trendy choice of flowers too!

I fell really bad now... :headache: Im such a div on this new comp! :surf web:

Catch up with you soon!

Thank you, Diaz are the winners and are now safe in my wedding wardrobe! You can't beat a bit of sparkle!!!!

Good idea about the shrug incase she gets a bit chilly with the air con, will take it with us :thumbsup2

I love all your planning!!!

Where did you get the dress hanger from?

Thank you, it was from Etsy, love that site!!! I can PM you the seller if you like as not too sure if I am allowed to write it here? (Still learnign these boards!)

Everything sounds great :thumbsup2 Looks like things r coming along nicely 4 u :goodvibes

Thank you for reading, all seems to be coming together nicely :cool1:

Thanks Fay, oh no I hate it when you loose a post! lol. I am still a learner on here too!!!!

Yes the engagement was just perfect, the boy did good!

Thank you, I just love those flowers! xxx

Hey,

Part of what I was going to say the other day was that I loved your momento from the engagement photos at the beach. Its a lovely photo frame with the painting! Bless! hehe

Your BM dresses are gorge! Thats one thing I found really difficult and I only have 2 BMs... I can't imagine what it was like doing it for 4!!!! But they all look really good... and it suits them all! :)

For shoes.. my vote is with the Benjamin Adams ones... every girl deserves a bit of bling on her day! :) YAY!

Love the STDs! Very cool! :)

Your UK venue looks beautiful... inside and out! :) We are doing a similar thing... however, DFs parents have paid for us to go on another honeymoon in August... so, we are going to have our UK party the day before we go! My only worry with that is... its about 2 and a half months after the wedding? Do you think people would still come?

I LOVE YOUR DRESS... its a similar style to the BMs gathering at the side... which i think is a clever thing to do as it ties you all together without being too obvious! :) My dress has one shoulder, and so do my BMs dresses.

(Im beginning to feel a little better about this post now... its still not as long as the original!)

Your flowers are gorge... but I think i did manage to say that before... I love them!

Lastly... i think the coat hangers are really cute! Im having to lay off ordering anything else... as with all the gifts I have brought the girls to say thank you... I will have no more room in my case! hehe

OKay... Looking forward to the next instalment!!!

Faye xx
