Emma & Scott's Wishes Wedding-10/16/12-WP/GF-*UPDATE-Planning Trip TR*

sadly chances are nothing! dh is in the army and almost always away for our wedding anniversary. in 2009 we celebrated our tenth a few weeks early at disney. last yr we went out for dinner and spent the nite at a hotel and he pampered me by booking a mani/pedi. but with young kids it makes it a bit harder as nanny and grandpa arent always available.

love the shoe/crystal idea! i was a bit crafty with my own shoes placing string pearls around the foot opening and satin roses on the toe/heel.....it looked good till the day of! lol the pearls came off and my crinoline picked the roses badly.....but crystals look so amazing!

Hi Amber,

Ahhh yes I understand it will be hard for you. Very proud of your DH serving his county though :)

I wish I was crafty enough to try to do things myself!!! Will try to start some wedding projects and see how I get on but with my Dad being a printer best to leave it to him hehe.

Your shoes sound lovely and unique to you :)

Everything looks great, you have done so much. :) Your bouquet idea is beautiful. I love the color blue for those flowers, and the shoes are awesome! I can't wait to see them finished. Oh and the honeymoon pot is so cute! It's such a good idea. We had some random jug that we were saving money in, this would have been way better :)

Hey Emma,

Loving all the pictures... I cant deny it... I love a good PJ with pictures! hehe...

The Shop in Leamington is called Revolve! Its a lovely shop and the women in there are all so helpful! :)

I love your money pot by the way, we have a similar one that we have to smash when we want to money out! hehe sad... but we get to make a wish when we do it! :)

I think the dress box sticker is lovely! Practical too! :) The door hangers are brilliant!!!! Where did you get them?! And the pillow case idea is lovely too! :) Such a good keep sake! :)

I love your reception shoe idea... they will look amazing when they are finished! and I quite like the blue velvet look! :) Also I think you did a grande job picking ivory shoes for the BMs... the girl in the picture looks lovely... after excerise or not! :)

I have to admit I like the orchid idea too! :)Expensive or not! :) hehe remember these are the most important flowers you will ever have! hehe :)

Any way! Lots of Love

i am so very proud of him! i complain a lot aboutbeing a military wife cus often it sucks, but i know its something he loves without a doubt. its not an easy life, but it pays the bills!

that is about as crafty as ive gotten! lol ive seen what some amazing crafty friends have done on here for their weddings/vr's and im blown away. i loved them when i made them and they were unique....and realtivley cheap! lol very important when youre making minimum wage and paying for your wedding yourselves. the prices for wedding shoes- custom or not these days often boggles my mind!

Can I be honest? I actually like the blue shoes! I think they are cute. Maybe I'm weird but I like em! :lmao: I am sure with the crystals they will be even prettier. Can't wait to see them. I also love the BM shoes...adorable!

How cool to have a wedding dress box; I didn't know they had those. Smart idea. But then again, you are full of smart ideas, most of which I borrow. :rotfl: I'll keep looking for updates. xoxo.

Awww thank you, I started a new job this week so wanted to get as much sorted before as I could as I am much busier now and less chance to get online hehe. I relly love those blue orchids and can't wait to see our finished flowers! :cool1: As long as you are saving money that is all that matters, that pot just means we can't get it out!!!! :rotfl2: xxx

A great job they do in the milatary but I can imagine it's very hard for you when he is away, just makes your time together even more special :lovestruc

I agree, anythign with the word "wedding" infront of it seems to be pricey!!!! xxx

I love the shade of blue you're using. Your inspiration pics look fabulous!

Thank you xxx

Thanks Coutenay, very excited to see my finished shoes, I agree though coloured shoes are lovely, just a shame Scott doesn't agree! :rotfl:

Borrow away my lovely, I get all my ideas from other brides on here!!!!

The dress box is so we can carry it on the plane as cabin bagge as do not want to risk loosing it in the hold!!!! xxx

OMG I didn't even think about loing it! That would be THE WORST. Glad you thought of that. We are driving and I don't plan on parting with that dress til after the wedding is over.

I had it sized last weekend and seeing it again in person was so awesome (I leave it at the dress shop; the owner puts it in storage). I go back March 10th to see the first set of alterations.

So what else is new with you? Updates love.

xoxo. :lovestruc

Hey Courtenay,

Haha no way we cannot leave our dresses!!! How was your dress sizing? I hope to go to try mine on soon, just trying to shift my last 13lb but I have had a call to tell me it is ready for me :) We are also keeping it in storage there though so Scotty doesn't see it! Final alterations will be in July for me :goodvibes

I have just started a new job so haven't really had time to come on the boards!!! I have a new update coming along now though ...how about you my lovely? xxx

Hey Lovelies!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all, I was given this adorable Disney Tradition this morning, thanks Scotty! :lovestruc

So we only have one month left now until we leave for our planning trip...

Groomsmen Socks
I have ordered some personalised socks for the groomsmen (Thanks to Faye for the link!), sorry for bad quality photos but I wanted to leave them in the packets! Here are Scott's:

529848c8.jpg

22103b38.jpg

And then I have ordered "Bride's father" for my Dad and stepdad, bestman and usher and they are all personalised with the date:

7cc3ff68.jpg

These are being kept at my Mum's for now and will give them out at our Rehearsal dinner maybe? Or do you think the morning of the wedding will be better?

Chelsea FC Letter
Scott is a Chelsea football supporter so I have contacted the club and they have sent a letter to Mr and Mrs Vaughan congratulating us on our marriage, with a signed photo of John Terry and the Team No photos of this as I had it delivered to Mum's too so Scotty doesn't see it!

Thanks to my bridesmaid Rhianne for telling me about this, lovely idea :thumbsup2

Rehearsal Dinner
I have emailed the manager of Ohana to try and get our Rehearsal dinner pencilled in on Monday 15th October before our ADR day, no response yet but I thought it would be worth a try! Our guests are using their DDP TS credits to pay for this, but I am thinking of surprising Scotty with a Stitch incpired grooms cake I originally thought the late ADR of 8pm would be best, but last week I won a Nikon D1500 camera kit at work in a raffle, and although I know it is an amazing camera, we only brought our Lumix last year so I decided to sell it (Thanks Dad for selling it no problems!!!) and now with that money I am thinking of adding a Dessert Party to our Rehearsal Dinner...

I know this is a lot of food in one night, but ever since I started researching Disney Weddings I loved the idea of a dessert party, but as our ceremony is at 5pm it will be too late on our actual wedding day.

I have requested the early reservation at Ohana's at 5pm, then we can start our DP at 8ish, I think Wishes will be 10pm or 9,30pm is Hallowishes. We will warn our guests more desserts coming so don't overeat at Ohana (Maybe easier said than done?! :rotfl2:) but only have a few choices, maybe a chocolate fondue and cheesestation? Or someone told me she is having a funnel cake live station...wow!!! I just love the idea of being at Sago Cay with yummy desserts watching Wishes with our friends and family, and this may even work out better as from what I have heard you don't enjoy the fireworks on your wedding day as you have to pose for those amazing photos!!!! We would have a cash bar here, Sago Cay is currently available for us...what do you all think?!

I have posted a new thread for live action station ideas, so I am sure a lovely Dis Bride will be able to help me! I have also emailed my planner for ideas. popcorn::

I also saw these on eBay and thought they could be a great idea for guests to take home any desserts we don't finish

72033bba.jpg

If this is allowed?! I know I am being greedy but hey, I have some unexpected money and I would love to treat my friends who have all made such a big effort with our wedding plans so far and to come out to celebrate with us, and you only get one wedding?! :lmao:

I will leave you with this which my sister made for me!

Emma,

Happy valentine's day! Your fiance is so sweet and thoughtful; love the Mickey figurine! My dress sizing went well, I don't know how it tunred out but I will let you know when I see it again in March.

I like the little socks you had made. That's a really great and funny idea. Don't get cold feet! :)

Congrats on the new job! How's it going? Obviously you're super busy but that's not a bad thing. I've been busy at work and with school which is why I haven't been on the boards too much. I don't really have any updates either. The planning session is March 2nd, so things will be slow til then.

I'll keep a lookout for any updates from you! xoxo.

Glad your dres sizing went well, March will be here before you know it! :woohoo:

Thank you, job is going well just lots to learn as so different to everything I have ever done before but I am enjoying it, it is a performance analyst for the Angola Region (I work for BP) so much more interesting then my last role as a Control Analyst.

Excited to hear about your Planning Session, ours in march 20th so a couple of weeks later :yay: xxx

Dessert Party Update!

After a few emails with my planner I have now booked Sago Cay for our DP on Monday October 15th from 8pm

scp.jpg

We are not able to have the chocolate fountain as our event will be outside and too many bugs around, but we can add a live action funnel cake station

We will discuss our options further next month when we meet our planner and the GF chef, exciting

I am such a dessert girl, I love all things sweet so am so pleased I now have a DP!!!

March Trip - Plans!

So one month today we will be at London Gatwick waiting to head back to the sunshine state so I thought it would be a good time to share our plans with you all, any suggestions/improvements very welcome!!!

Cast
Me - 25, Disney bride to be and main planner, very excited!!!
Scott - DFi - 23 (Toyboy:rotfl:), My Disney husband to be! Excited to go back to Ohana most I think :thumbsup2
Mum - Den, very excited to swim with the dophins at DC, one of her life's dreams :cutie:
Brian - stepdad, looking forward to driving the jeep we have hired, enjoying the games room and a hot holiday as for the last few years they have only been up to Scotland.

The main purpose of this trip is to attend our Disney wedding planning and tasting session, and to show Mum and Brian the Disney magic we fell in love with last year :lovestruc

Wednesday 14th March
We are all working today but will have dinner at Mum's house before leaving at 7pm in a taxi to take us to the Gatwick Hilton, maybe a few drinks in the bar or go prepared and have drinks ready for our room to start off our holiday

Thursday 15th March
Enjoy a yummy breakfast at the Hilton, before walking through the tunnel to the terminal to check in ready to depart at 13:00 on VS015, we have selected the 4 seats in the middle of the plane, towards the back. Hopefully some good films for us to watch :thumbsup2

When we land, we will be met with our driver from Caronthedrive who will drive us to our Paradis Palms villa in Aviana Resort where our hire car will be waiting on the drive.

http://paradisepalmsvilla.com/default.aspx

I will have ordered either a coolbox which will be in our car for our first night essentials, or a Garden Grocer delivery. Thinking a takeaway for dinner tonight, hopefully it can be delivered so we don't have to drive and can enjoy a few drinks on the plane. Enjoy our lovely villa, men are very excited for the games room!

Friday 16th March
Breakfast at the villa before heading off to the Premium Outlets, main aim today is to find our wedding rings We got my engagement ring from Ultra Diamonds and had such fab service that this will be our first stop, then look for some bargains!

Grab lunch in the foodcourt, before driving out to the Mall at Millenia. We didn't get chance to visit a mall last year so this will be a first for us. Dinner at the cheesecake factory I hope...another first!

Hopefully find a Walmart on the way home for some shopping!

Evening at the villa ready for our early start tomorrow...

Saturday 17th March
Today we are off to Discovery Cove!

We have booked return transport with FL Magical tours, so an escalade will pick us up at 7am ready to check in early and hope for an early swim time for mum and Brian. Me and Scott are on a budget so no swim for us but hope to get some lovely photos of Mum and Brian...especially because I am going to upgrade their package to the Premium package as a treat for their 15th wedding anniversary and also to say thank you for comign over with us. I am so excited for this surprise as I think my Mum is going to love it!

So the premium package will be:

The perfect way to celebrate that special someone's birthday, a promotion at work or simply to enhance an already wonderful day. Includes:
Personalized buoy
Gift bag
6x8 photo
Photo frame or plush toy
T-shirt
25% off the Ultimate photo package
Private cabana including table and chairs, chaise lounges, rolled towels, stocked refrigerator, and personal locker
Underwater camera
I have confirmed availability for this day with DisCo, just need to phone today to book, I will have Happy 15th Anniversary on the buoy.

The rest of the day will be spent relaxing in our cabana, enjoying the food and drink, and exploring DisCo. Looking forward to the new snorkelling pool and the aviary as we didn't do this last year...although I am not a keen bird lover, but I can be photographer

FL Magical Tours will take us home after a lovely day, more time spent relaxing in the villa.

Sunday 18th March
This morning we plan to go to Downtown Disney for some shopping, and walk across to SSR to have a look around as this is where we will be staying in October along with most of our guests. Hopefully we can have a look around some rooms as I want to make sure the 2 bed apartment my friends have booked will be big enough for all of us to get ready on the mornign of the wedding.

If anyone has the managers email address for SSR I would be most grateful so I can ask in advance to look around please.

Lunch will be Earl of Sandiwch...yummy!!!!

No plans for this afternoon so may leave Brian and Scott in a bar in DTD and go to get my nails done at a salon recommended by the lovely Carrie, to try them out before the wedding day, and try to book me and my BMs in for October if possible.

Dinner tonight will be Ohana at 8pm so we can enjoy Wishes, yummy!!! Me and Scott are very excited to be going back here! Hopefully we can meet the manager too and start to plan our rehearsal dinner.

We will show Mum and Brian the beach where we got engaged, and the wedding pavilion which we will be able to see then head back to the villa.

Monday 19th March
Today we are off to Seaworld with our free tickets from DisCo. This was mums favourite park when we went to Florida when we were younger so she is really excited for this, and I think Brian will enjoy the coasters!

Me and Scott are looking froward to Manta as we didn't get chance to ride it last year.

We have the Penguin Up Close Tour booked for 12.30 after reading Libby's report!

Hoping to get a reservation to eat dinner at Sharks Underwater Grill as this is mega yummy too!

back to the villa ready for tomorrow....the main event!!!!

Tuesday 20th March
No breakfast for us today as our first stop is the Grand Floridian for our tasting session and to meet the GF chef, this is 9.30-11am.

Hopefully we will then have time to look around the GF to find out where Sago Cay Pointe is, and look around the Whitehall room and patio (Depends what events they have on that day).

Then we will walk over to Franks, assessing the state of the GF DVC development en route, reading for our planning session at 1-5pm. So excited for this...not so much for the BEO that will come as a result of the reaching for the sky technique I am likely to take in my excitement

I have made an ADR at the Whispering Canyon Cafe for 6.30pm but may cancel if we aren't hungry, although as tasting will be over by 11am I am sure we will be!

Does anyone know if you can watch Wishes from around here? Maybe we could go back to Sago Cay is there isn't a dessert pary on :)

Wednesday 21st March
We plan to drive down to the coast today, thinking Anna Maria Island after reading such great things about it. Just relax and enjoy being there, maybe some crazy golf or segway tour, then dinner at a rstaurant (Maybe the sand bar) where we can watch the sunset, before driving back and packing

Does anyone know how long the drive is from Orlando to AMI?

Thursday 22nd March
We will be leaving our lovely villa this morning, but as a Christmas present to Mum and Brian we extended our stay by one more night, so we will be driving to AKL this morning.

Caronthedrive will be collecting our car this morning.

We have booked 2 studios with a savannah view EXCITED! :woohoo:

We plan to spend today enjoying the resport and the pools, maybe grab lunch from Mara, and then we have an ADR at Boma tonight for 7pm, and plan to stay at AKL in their bar, or if we are feeling energetic maybe get the Disney buses and go and check out Jellyrolls?!

Friday 23rd March
Have a lie in before checking out of AKL, leave our luggage ready for the ME back to MCO

Plan today is to go to the boardwalk to attempt the kitchen sink in Beaches and Cream , and then maybe some mini golf.

Our flight home is VS016 at 20:50, and we will be picked up by a taxi at LGW, hopefully not too sad as our magical wedding trip will begin in 6 months!

So what do you all think?!

I know we may have to make another trip to Premium Outlets or the mall to collect our rings but most evenings are free so this should be fine, and we can also go back to Seaworld as we have 14 day passes if we don't fancy driving all the way down to the coast.

29 sleeps to go!!!!! :dance3:

Hey Emma,

Loving your posts! The socks are cool aren't they! ;) Good quality too! I was thinking about giving gifts out the night before at the rehearsal dinner... but Greg suggested giving our parents gifts at the wedding it self? What do you think? We are getting our parents $150 dollars each at The Palm at Universal! An amazing place to eat! :)

I have to say I think the idea your friend had to send the football club an email! Is a brilliant idea... what did you say in the email/letter? Im thinking of doing the same but with Birmingham City! lol We went to watch the second half on valentines day night! lol I love him! lol

Im loving the KEEP CALM app by the way! I made on for my sister ... Keep calm your a bridesmaid! lol

teehee!

Any Way... Lots of Love

I love the valentines gift your fiance got you! Now I want to go on a hunt for one of those, too cute:)

So glad to hear you booked a DP. You are going to have so much fun and everyone is going to love it. Seeing wishes will be such a great end to the night. I can't wait to hear what you end up choosing for food. I hope you hear back from Ohanas soon!!!

Your schedule for your March trip looks like lots of fun. Looks like you guys will be busy. I am sure you are getting excited. :)

Just dropping in on the planning I'm also in the UK so this will be helpful to me.

Good call on the Cheesecake Factory that's one of my favourite restaurants just a tip though..the portions are HUGE! my DF & I share a pasta dish and still can't finish it. HOWEVER no matter how full you are get Cheesecake even if you have to take it away DO NOT leave without Cheesecake seriously.
The 30th anniversary chocolate cheesecake is awesome (the great wall of chocolate cake at PF Chang next door is also pretty awesome)

A question about your dress box..did that come from your store or did you buy it somewhere? It's so perfect

Right now you are having a an awesome time in Disney! Have fun, enjoy yourself, and can't wait to hear from you when you get back. We will be there in two weeks from today! Yay! I hope you have a great trip. xoxo. :yay:

Hi there!!
There is so much I want to comment on!! ahaha
I am having the funnel cake action station for my DP in Epcot- I was quoted $15/person. I got the idea from someone else in our FB group posting they were having a bunch of stations including the funnel cakes. I am really pumped for it!!

I love the Mall at Millenia and Cheesecake Factory- yum! My favorite at cheesecake is the Pasta da Vinci, if you're looking for suggestions! ;)

Yay that you are able to have the DP!! So jealous you won that camera, but sounds like you were able to do well selling it! That is great!

You have so much planned out, I love organization. Everything sounds great!! Whispering Canyon will definitely get you going after the Planning Session that wiped us out (like bed by 9pm that night wiped us out... hahaha) Good that your tasting is in the morning though, you will hopefully be out of your food coma by dinner time!

We are having our RD at 'Ohana at 5pm also and then heading back to Epcot for our DP. Would you mind PM-ing me the email for the manager? I'd like to get a list of the specific food to make menus for our group if possible! :)

Good luck finding a deal on your rings!! I'm sure your mom will love that you upgraded their package, and that youre surprising them with an extra night at AKL- what a good daughter you are!

We own at SSR and stayed there two October's ago in a 1 bedroom, you will definitely have enough room for getting ready in the 2 bedroom villa! I'm sure you can take a tour of a model room there. I believe they have the mock up for the Aulani rooms at SSR too for DVC tours. Worst case scenario, tell them you're interested in DVC and I'm sure they'll show you!

I think you'll be able to see Wishes from WL, or you can take a boat over to one of the other resorts if you want to! Don't forget about the water parade too! :goodvibes

I'm sure I've missed something! Love all your updates, the socks are too cute too!!

popcorn::

Hello my lovely!

Yes the socks are great, thanks for the link, and fab service too!

I think giving your parents their gifts on the day will be perfect :) It will be a great way to thank them. I would do that but so far all of our presents are to be worn or used on the day so no good for us!

I just wrote that we were getting married and was there anything they could send as Scott is a lifelong fan and it worked! Hope it works for you too!!!

Glad you are keeping calm too :thumbsup2

Thanks Ashely :) It is part of the Jim Shore Disney Traditions range so I hope you can find some too, we love them and have over 30 I think now, running out of space for them!!!

I am so pleased we have a DP, and I love Wishes so any chance to see it again is a bonus!

Just dropping in on the planning I'm also in the UK so this will be helpful to me.

Hello, welcome along!!!

Hehe we will definately get a cheesecake to go if we are full :thumbsup2

I got my dress box from ebay, it is the top one on the list I think. Recommended by other airlines so it should be ok!

Right now you are having a an awesome time in Disney! Have fun, enjoy yourself, and can't wait to hear from you when you get back. We will be there in two weeks from today! Yay! I hope you have a great trip. xoxo. :yay:

Hi Courtenay, sadly not at Disney yet, 26 more sleeps to go :cutie: You wull be there before us so I hope you have the bestest time and I look forward to hearing all about it! xxx

I think you'll be able to see Wishes from WL, or you can take a boat over to one of the other resorts if you want to! Don't forget about the water parade too! :goodvibes

I'm sure I've missed something! Love all your updates, the socks are too cute too!!
