1) Which is best at Christmas? What are the pros/cons of each resort?
2) I know that the YC has balconies, whereas the BC may only have a small one. Any other big differences?
3) Which one would be best for a good "standard" view?
4) Would concierge be worth it for the last 3 nights?

Doing WL for the first part of our trip.

Thanks!

Hi Triplefigs,

You'll probably get a few differing opinions on this one, but here are mine:

I think the Beach Club is beautiful at Christmas, but I've never been in the BW at Christmas. Yacht Club is lovely too but we prefer the BC.

BC and BW are probably equidistant from Epcot, BW a little closer to Studios.

The theming at every Disney resort is spectacular. We prefer the BC but BW is great too!

There are a gazillion places to eat and things to do for young children all around the lake. It's about 3/4 of a mile around so if you want to go from BW to YC/BC and back it's pretty easy.

Good luck!

Bob

The Holiday decorations at the BW are stunning--simply spectacular, and IMHO the best on property. (That's said with a caveat towards the AKL decor which is jaw dropping, but not traditional)

I prefer the BWI to the BC and YC, it's just quieter, not as bustling. I think because there are genreally less families there the rooms have less wear and tear on them.

if you take away SAB it is a complete wash.

depending on what room you get, you could be closer to MGM in one resort, but closer to epcot in another.

I would not worry about where the better food is, since everyplace at BW, YC/BC is a 10min walk away.

Take away SAB?!?! Argh! Even if YC/BC had a normal pool, I'd probably choose BC just for the style. My family loved the Christmas decorations there, Cape May is great, Beaches and Cream is delightful (when it's not packed), and we liked the room decor. It doesn't hurt that on our one visit there we were upgraded to concierge (which spoiled us for all future visits).

A second choice would be Boardwalk. We're not big fans of Yacht Club -- just feels too "old and stuffy" for us.

We stayed at BCV this past year in late November so all the christmas decorations were up. As we had never been to WDW during the Holidays, we made a point of going to several different resorts to view the decorations. IMO BC had the best decorations followed by the GF, then WL, YC, BW, CR, Poly and then Fort Wilderness. The weather was terrific so we could use SAB which can not be discounted, talk about home field advantage! You can't go wrong with either of your choices because they are all so close together, BUT.....if you don't stay at BC/YC you can't use SAB, THE BEST POOL AT WDW.....HANDS DOWN! :sunny:

We stayed at the YC last December and loved the atmosphere and the holiday decorations and entertainment. I guess I'd rate it the best.

YC is closer to the boat dock to Epcot and MGM. Right outside the lobby door.
We thought YC was a bit quieter in the lobby etc. A little more of an adult feel to it.
BC is closer if you want to walk to Epcot.
YC is closer to renting boats etc.
The YC was wonderful at Christmas time. Also had a train track /village set up.
Excellent Mousekeeping and service on every end!!
Many of the Standard views at YC are garden views. (You can request this also.)

We did YC Concierge and loved it, The Christmas decorations are very nautical (which I loved) and our room was very nice. In fact we enjoyed the YC Concierge better than the Poly Concierge. We felt it was less crowded and more personalized at the YC.
When you enter the Concierge floor we always got a nice smile and hello, and they were there to help with the children, while any request we had at the Poly they seemed that they had a ton to do on their desk, and the reply was always we will call you and let you know. I recommend the YC to everybody, we loved it.
