ebay/half.com - How is this even possible?

I sold a book on half.com the other day. I just noticed that the buyer has a feedback rating of 145,515 which I thought was a pretty impressive number. I then looked at the breakdown and 9,641 of those have been received in the past month, and all as a buyer. That means this person has made at least 9,641 purchases in the past 30 days. Since not every seller leaves feedback it is likely that the actual number is even higher.

How the heck could one person buy nearly 10,000 items on half.com and ebay in 30 days? That's over 320 purchases per day, over 13 per hour 24 hours/day.

That is a bit high. However, they could very well buy things to resell. If they sell books/cds/whatever at a flea market, all they would need to do is find a few sellers who have penny books/cds with combined shipping, and by buying in bulk they could end up being able to see them for 50 cents or a dollar at the flea market and still make a decent profit. Or they could even just be speculating. They find stuff thats BIN at alot cheaper than they have for a resale value, and pounce on it to resell later. The number of people that sell text books for next to nothing, maybe they run a book store where they resell to college kids at a much higher markup. It's possible.....

YEs that is bizarrely high! They must do nothing else but buy and sell all day long. Did you look at the transactions to see what kind of items they are?

Yes. Mostly books. Some video games. I didn't see anything else but I only looked at about 10 transactions.

half.com doesn't show the actual item. It just says if it was a book, game, music or video and the price. They bought plenty of items that were at least $5-10 each so they aren't just buying penny stuff. Heck, the book she bought from me was $29.95.

If they bought 10,000 items at $5/item minimum, you're talking about some big bucks.
