So out of the loop!! I love this thread but life gets in the way sometimes...;) I was on here an hour last night just looking at old post :upsidedow but the upside I have lots of new dinner ideas :thumbsup2

Here is Our Week:
MONDAY- Baked Pork Chops, Mashes potatos & Corn
TUESDAY- Grilled Shrimp Tacos w/ Chips & Salsa
WEDNESDAY- Teriyaki Chicken & Veggies
THURSDAY- Peirogis and Salad
FRIDAY- Baked Fish, Baked Potatos & Carrots

thats it so far :wave2:

My favorite meal

Me too! :)

I make it with ground turkey. I sauteed a lot of yellow onions before adding the meat. I think it really added a lot to the flavor. I couldn't tell the difference between the turkey sauce or the beef I've made in the past. The funny thing is I don't like onions very much at all. But if they are cooked down, they taste great!:upsidedow

Tonight since I had so many noodles and some sauce left over, I made a spaghetti bake. I did have to make another batch of sauce, but that's okay. We'll have that with garlic bread and something green. It'll be good!

Tue.- Chicken enchiladas
Wed.- Breakfast for dinner, probably scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, orange glazed biscuits, and some fruit
Thurs.- Looking for a meatless dish
Fri.- Cheese pizza

Monday: Poor Man's Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans
Tuesday: Take out of some sort
Wednesday: Shrimp Fried Rice
Thursday: Chicken Tenders, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Corn
Friday: Glazed Salmon with Broccoli Rice
Saturday: Chicken Pot Pie Soup and Garlic Cheddar Biscuits
Sunday: Left overs

I found a recipe from L-Harper ( the link is her post 2373) for sweet and sour chicken and it was so good! I changed it a little by adding just half of the garlic salt and I made only 2 large chicken breasts but the same amount of sauce. It tasted just like the orange chicken we get from a chinese restaurant. Thanks!

I don't have a whole menu for the week yet.

Monday- meatloaf, baked potatoes, canned corn ( dd12's request), pear and walnut salad
Tuesday- baked tilapia with italian bread crumbs, rice, peas
Weds-breakfast for dinner- omelettes with mushrooms and peppers, hashbrowns, waffles, maybe sausage and fruit, too.
Thursday-chicken with alfredo sauce and linguine, vegetable.

I'm curious when does everybody eat dinner? We eat between 4:30-5:30 b/c my kids have activities that start during the traditional dinner time. They always want a meal before they go.

Since I've been pregnant we've been eating earlier, like at 6:30-7pm because I'm starving once I get home from work, lol. But normally we eat at 8-8:30 pm. it's just me, my hubby, and my mom so eating late works for us. My husband would want to eat again before bed if we ate too early like at 5ish. He'd be scrounging through the fridge for anything to eat, most likely junk food, we eat later so I can curb his unhealthy snacking lol ;)

We usually eat around 6 or 630 pm. I am home by 5pm. This gives me time to make dinner and pack lunches for the next day, and for the kids to get homework done. This is the goal so that dinner can be relaxed and not rushed due to homework that still needs to be finished.

Tonight we are having cheeseburger hamburger helper ( I do not usually use boxed dinners like that but I have not had it since I was a little girl), salad and applesauce.

We eat at different times. We usually eat between 5 and 6pm. If I am working a closing shift we usually have a bigger meal at lunch and then snack later.

It's clean out the freezer week:

Monday: pea soup and toast
Tuesday: Cincinnati chili
Wednesday: rice and PF Changs frozen entree
Thursday: salad, halibut, bread and butter

(All except the halibut are frozen leftovers/dinners. I have sooo much halibut and have to eat it up before summer).

Sun - Biscuits N Gravy (with extra ground pork added), Southern Hashbrowns, Strawberries/Bananas
Mon - Chili Dogs, Coleslaw, Strawberries
Tues - Lemon Garlic Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Sauteed Spinach
Wed - Garlic Herb Pork Loin, Sauteed Cabbage, Sliced Apples
Thurs - Thai Chicken or Meatloaf, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Sliced Pears
Fri - Meatless Pasta (Ravioli or Spinach Artichoke Tortellini), Leftover Fruit
Sat - Out

Tonight- Nachos
Wednesday- Chicken Pasta Salad (with tons of veggies)
Thursday- Sausage, Potato, & Carrot Casserole
Friday- Creamed Chicken & Biscuits with Peas & Carrots
Saturday- Pizza Party for our Niece's Birthday
Sunday- Spaghetti with Garlic Bread & Salad

I really enjoy lurking (and occasionally posting) on this thread! At the momenr I'm trying to clear out the freezer too :thumbsup2

So far DH has been the only one eating dinner this week so there is a lack of fresh veggies. (He's not a fan.) I have a tooth issue and am living off soup, antibiotics and pain meds.

Sunday
Dinner with friends (DH went alone, I went to bed around 6:00 PM!)

Monday
Free pizza from Papa John's (I think DH won it during the Super Bowl?)

Tuesday
Red beans with andouille (F) over brown rice

Wednesday
Meatloaf (F)
Green beans (F) with garlic
Baked sweet potatoes

Thursday
Taco salad made with vegan chili (F), romaine, avocado, home made salsa (F) and cheddar (F)

Friday
Grilled boneless/skinless chicken thigh (F) kabobs
Grilled veggies
Yellow rice

Saturday

Tonight we had chicken and dressing, green beans and fruit salad.

Tomorrow I'm not sure yet. DD and I are going to Mary Poppins on stage with my mom, grandma, sister, aunt and uncle. Thinking my grandma may do dinner for us before we go but I'm not overly sure on that.

Friday - chicken patty sandwiches, tator tots, peaches

Saturday - make your own pizzas, brownies

Sunday - meatloaf, baked potatoes, corn

Monday - super nachos

Tuesday - baked ziti, garlic toast

I have to ask....is your name Lorien? My daughter's name is Lorien and I only know of one other Lorien...who was a waitress in Indianapolis whom my husband first got the name idea from. Well, another place her name idea came from was the place Lothlorien in the book Lord of the Rings...so cool if that is what your name is...I feel bad sometimes that her name is so unique NO one else has it!

Our daughter is also named Lorien, from the Tolkein trilogy. She was one of two Lorien's in her grade school. There is also a facebook page for Lorien's

Love Tolkein's description "Lothlorien had seen the evil of the world and was not unchanged. But her central character remained unscarred." I think that's a great dream for a daughter.

Small update
