EasyWDW - bitter much?

I'm not confused. Len Testa is not some random blogger, as Josh is. Len Testa is the owner of touringplans.com and author of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. And, I wasn't referring to the thread you are referencing, or any thread in particular.

All you have to do is look up Josh's old post history and see that he is rude, a lot. As I said, it's not about his site, he has a fine site, I, personally, find his posts here on this board rude and unfriendly. I can certainly appreciate dry wit and scarcasm, but his posts seems to lead me to believe he thinks he's superior to everyone on the Disboards and in the Disney blogging community. Sorry, he just rubs me the wrong way . . .

Since you seem to be a Len Testa fan, I can see why Josh's humor doesn't appeal to you. :lmao:

I've never read this site and am spending the afternoon reading all the posts. So far, I love it! I love seeing reports and pictures of the goings on at Disney so I can prepare for our holiday in Feb. (And I now really want to stay at AoA so bad!)

I love easywdw. I to find him snarky, but not rude. But different strokes for different folks. Everyone likes different styles. That is why there are many popular Disney sites and not just one. Never read Josh's posts on here, so I can't comment on that.

Big fan of easywdw.com! Of course I have a sense of humor and try not to take things too seriously (especially a touring site). Your mileage may very. :cool2:

Funny I just read through your old post and this phrase is the first thing that came to mind.

"The pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom used to claim that a person is guilty of the very thing of which they accuse another.

I agree with you. I had previously read his site and I thought, oh, okay he's snarky and sarcastic - you know, kind of tongue-in-cheek, making fun. BUT, after I discovered he is a member here and read his posts, I now think he's just mean and bitter. He has responded to people's posts and questions on here with nasty, condesending answers - he really seems to come off as a jerk. I don't read his site anymore, and it's not about the site, which is fine, it's the stuff I've seen him post on here.

I haven't found anything Josh has posted on the disboards to be "nasty" or "condescending". And he definitely doesn't come across as a jerk to me. I think he's highly intelligent and has a wry sense of humour. And I particularly love it when he pokes fun at the disboards, because oh man, do we ever have it coming!

I've seen many of Josh's posts here on the DIS and never thought he was rude. I also enjoy his site and love his sense of humor. I've never sensed any bitterness towards WDW.

:rotfl2: so true!

Haaaaaaahahahaha!!! Burn!!

OK, so Len.... runs a blog? As does Josh.

And the key word in that book title is "Unofficial". He's put some of his blog knowledge in print & convinced people to buy it. That's certainly one way to go.... I'm sure people find it useful. Others, however, may prefer more instant park updates as found on Josh's blog, in case things have changed in the months & months since the last edition was sent to the publisher.

Neither of them are employed by Disney. In both cases, doesn't it basically boil down to just a dude who started a website? OK, Len's been around longer. But Josh is more man-on-the-scene with his park updates. It's personal preference, no?

I'm not seeing how one of them is inherently sooooooo much inferior to the other as to be dismissed entirely as "some random blogger". Except... Len's convinced people to pay him money for information they can find for free elsewhere on the internet so they assign perceived value to the data because they've parted with cash to get it. Kind of genius, that.

Times like these, I wish the disboards had either "like" buttons like Facebook, or "upvotes" like Reddit. :thumbsup2

I too do not like Josh's style He totally rubs me the wrong way. I do not like his sarcastic, snarky attitude and I do not find it funny in anyway. This is my opinion and I have a right to it.
All that said, I generally force myself to read his blog at least weekly. I often recoil at his presentation, but his information is helpful and good to know. I just wish his style was different.
JMHO

I adore Easywdw and I love Josh's SOH - like so many others here have said it is a fresh and honest look at things which is so refreshing! And I haven't seen him be anything like rude or condescending - just sarcastic which is right up my street.

I know though that sarcasm and humour isn't for everyone which is why it is so great that there are so many other sites out there - something for everyone.

For me though, I think Easywdw rocks.

NOBODY covers Animal Kingdom than EasyWDW.

The humor is an acquired taste. It most definitely isn't the "everything is magical" vibe you'll see on some sites. But Josh has probably not played "the game" that other websites do in order to gain access to press previews etc. That's half on him and half on Disney for not recognizing another valuable member of the press.

:thumbsup2 This. Have you ever read Inside the Magic? It's a bunch of Disney propaganda. Ironically, that site seems to have access to all of Disney's "press events."

To be honest, I don't think Josh or WoodyMom have "rude" posts, then again I didn't go through and read every single post. It seems when anyone disagrees on the DIS, one of them accuses the other of being a hypocrite. It's her personal preference, which I happen to disagree with. There's no need for that. Sorry for being a bit harsh, but I've had enough of these "hypocrite arguments" (Forum Police is back in action!).

It's so funny that this debate is raging as I usually only use EasyWDW for the crowd calendars. In the last few weeks I actually read some of the blog posts and thought, " I need to start reading this more!".

I liked that it sounded like a blog written by a person like me who is totally in love with something that even they can't really understand!

Not bitter, just snarky which I love. He pokes fun to some of the folks over here, and I'm guessing, because some just take visiting WDW too seriously or over analyze it.
