Early Check in at SSR

Going to SSR in December and was wondering, How early you can check in at the resort, I know that you should check in after 4:00pm, But when I have arrived ealry around 1 or 2 pm they always had a roon ready, My flight will arrive early in the AM.

any one had any experiance with early check in?

We've only 1 experience at SSR, and we got a room around 11 one Saturday. At other DVC resorts, we have been successful when we check in early (before 11) we have most often (80%) gotten a room by 1 -2 PM. Just a very few times we got into the room around 4. We usually go to a park or out to lunch and then call the number that they give us. We've gotten a (great) room as early as 9:30AM twice at OKW.

Maybe it depends on requests, ours is only non-smoking, or at OKW, also first floor or elevator building.

We checked in last week at SSR around 8:30 am, that's when we rolled into town. Our room was not ready, we didn't expect it to be. And I was told it hadn't even been assigned yet. We were able to get our KTTW cards so that we could use them for charging and were given a phone number to call back later. I called around 2:00 and was given the room number.

Managed to check in at SSR last week around 11:00 am.

When we stayed there last Oct are room was ready @12:30.

Actually there's nothing that says that you have to check in after 4pm. There is no guarantee that you will be able to get into the room before 4pm, but you are welcome to check-in before that. If the room isn't ready they will give you your keys and a telephone number to call and find out when the room is ready.

Many will argue (based upon personal experience) that the sooner you check in the better your chances are of getting a room that meets your requests.

As to how early you can check in, I've heard the resort computers roll forward to the new business day sometime between 6-7am so you should be able to check-in after that.

Glad to read this! We'll be checking-in early when we arrive in May and have a dinner reservation for 5:10 @ Whispering Canyon so I was hoping to get everything done before heading over there. I don't care if we can't get in our room yet, just want to have the process done first!

It does depend on when in December, though. If it is during the crazy busy time of Holiday week, I do not think you can expect to get in early. Good luck no matter what!
