Just back from WDW and took the tour of Saratoga Springs. DW loved it and leaning towards buying in. Clock starts ticking at midnight and we have until Wednesday to decide and still get the incentives.

I would really like to get some additional feedback/advice from some DVCer's in my area of NC.

Please feel free to PM or EM me.

Thanks.

We are from Greensboro. We own at HHI and go about twice a year. We go to WDW about every 3 years. We love HHI and would not change it. We like being able to exchange resorts. We are staying at SSR in just a few weeks. I can't wait as it will be the 1st time our 15 month old will see WDW.

I cant help you with SSR, but i will share what brought us to buy at HHI.

There are pleanty of less expensive time shares out there, but with the point system that Disney has it suits our needs. We would never have been able to settle for certain week or time frame. We also fell in love with HHI. That is where we want to spend our time. We did not get that same feeling with other brands. Even on HHI there are really nice timeshares that are even on the ocean, but the theme and design just touched us.

Our dream house would be a big "Bob Timberlake" design and decorated house. We don't have the 850k to build one, so HHI is the next best thing. I am not saying that he designed the resort, but It looks like he did.

Anyway, we love DVC and do not regret it. IT is a prepaid vacation until we are in our 70's. We love the resort, we don't exchange much except every 3-4 years. We love Disney, and so far, the staff have been great.

Good luck on your decision. :earsboy:

Hi there, we live in Raleigh, work in Cary. We first purchased at OKW, then added BCV and then added SSR. We have stayed at SSR twice already, once a studio and once a 1-bedroom. We love DVc and would not trade it for the world. I would live on pb&j if I had to in order to keep my DVC. My only regret is not buying when I first learned of DVC. We love the flexibility of the different size rooms you can get and the flexibility of going any time of the year. We have no regrets at all.

If you have some specific questions, ask away, as you have definitely come to the right place.

My DH and I purchased during our trip in Oct. at SSR. We live in Clemmons, NC. We toured SSR and really like it. We of course are new to this but am trying to learn all I can. We purchased 160 pts. and wish we had purchased a little more but couldn't at this time. We have a 5 year old and I am sure we will enjoy our yearly trip to WDW.:bounce:

 We are from Burlington. We took the tour last Oct. (2003) after staying @ BCV on rented points. We loved it but was not in the position to buy last year. We bought in July 04, 180 pts @ SSR and can't wait to go on points. We went to WDW staying at the Poly last month & visited SSR, it looked really pretty.

We have 2 kids and have visited every 1-2 years since 1998. This just seems like the right thing to do for us. DH was not a huge WDW fan, but is now looking forward to our next trip & has gotten more involved in deciding where we want to stay. Good luck!!!

Hi, we are from Mooresville, maybe a little too south for your request, but.....we love DVC! We bought at SSR in Oct 03 and we have been to HHI twice and will be at WDW in a couple weeks. We really loved HHI, and are looking to add on points there. We have a DD9, and plan to visit HHI at least once a year and hopefully WDW as well. We dont have a problem planning out our vacations one or two years in advance, this is a good thing for us. We are looking forward to many, many more great trips.

Have we spoken before? I can't remember. But anyway, I do the opposite from you , live in Cary and work in Raleigh (State Gov't). We own at VWL and did an add-on at HHI just this morning. Now I'm busy trying to figure out what to do with the extra points. We have a trip to HHI planned starting Dec. 26 and also my DD25 and myself will be going down to BWV the week before Easter.

Yes, as a matter of fact we had communicated several times when you were trying to make your decision about purchasing or not. I actually work at The Disney Store if that helps refresh your memory.

You obviously must be happy with your purchase to do an add-on at HHI. I am glad it has all worked out for you. I remember that wife is not a big a fan as you are of WDW. Hilton Head ought to be a good compromise.

Good to see you on the Boards again.

Hi,

We live in the Charlotte area. Bought at SSR in August of 2003. I think we were one of the first to purchase at SSR. We love it. Stayed at SSR this past summer. It was good. A little more quiet than I would have liked. Only 2 buildings were open at that time. We are going to stay at OKW for Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks and next June I have booked SSR again, but we are hoping to change to BW at the 7 month mark. We too wish we have purchased sooner since we were going once a year anyway. This past summer we also bought annual passes. So that took came of both summer trips and the Thanskgiving trip.

The drive isn't too bad. Hope that helps and good luck in your decision.

Juls, Hi! We are from mooresville too!! We joined in early 2002 (BCV)! We also love HH! We go there a least once a year and we go to Fla. usually twice a year! We have been very happy with DVC!

We live in Burlington. Our purchase of pts was in Dec 01(our first pts , til add-on-ititis hit ). We own at VWL and love it. We then added on twice since then. Our trips have evolved from annually to 2 or 3 trips a year at DVC resorts.

So far we have stayed at VWL 3 times and OKW once. The flexibility is great and staying at different resorts is a perk too. But most likely your home resort will hold that special place in your heart.

A lot of our days are now spent looking forward to the next DVC trip. It is nice knowing when you leave WDW property, you will be returning soon.

Our biggest regret, like so many, is not joining sooner. Good luck in your decision.
