DVC'ers favorite non-dvc resort

Our vacation this October was at the Wilderness Lodge and we were blown away. I think it partly influenced our thoughts in wanting to become DVC members. AKL seems like it would be a great place, and we plan on going over there to walk around on our next trip down

Anyway - I was wondering what are the favorite non-dvc resorts of everyone here?

We were long time Polynesian people prior to DVC (see sig).
We have always enjoyed the resorts that lend themselves to heavy theming, so I would include The Poly, AKL, and of course the main Lodge istelf (if you are counting that).

We are spending three nights AKL concierge this coming April, and will continue to periodically get at a Poly and AKL fix...

Prior to buying DVC, Wilderness Lodge was our favorite, but we stayed at AKL for one night a couple years ago, and I love watching the animals! I kept getting up at night to look out at them.

The Polynesian still feels like home to us and I think always will.

We also enjoy the GF.

Shades of Green!
Absolutely wonderful. Big rooms, peaceful atmosphere, close to monorail. After staying there, I knew we couldn't go back to moderates, yet deluxe was out of our budget. DVC was the answer.

Poly all the way here.... Before staying at AKL that was on my list of faves too, but since staying there, we discovered it wasnt our cup of tea... Funny how I considered it a fave, before staying there... lol

Also Dixie Landings... It was my first onsite hotel, and I love the pools.

Polyn, BC, WL, PO - hey I even enjoyed my stay at the All Star Music - now I couldn't stay here for a week or more - but for weekend trips (because going to OKW) it was great!!!

Laura - I understand your feeling about DL - it was my brother's children first WDW resort - I really enjoyed seeing WDW through their eyes....

Lucky duck! I could never get 6 straight weeks off from work! 2 weeks back to back is all we can take at one time.

Last year we were fortunate enough to stay at 4 different resorts. 3 were new experiences for us. They were ASMu (5th time), POFQ(1st time), Poly(1st time), WL(1st time).

I fell in Love with the Poly & the WL! They offered the most relaxing vacation to me as far a non-DVC.

GF for DW (have not stayed there - just from the outsied)
CR concourse for DS#1 (loved it there)
BWI/BWV for DS#2 (his eyes lit up in there)
