DVC watches

Actually I do not have 4 watches, DS and DSIL have a membership at BCV and DH and I have a membership at SSR. DS is 25 and went in with DH's sister and together they purchased at BCV, 6 mos later DH and I purchased. I just ordered the 4 watches 2 with my cc and 2 with DS's cc. 1 mans for DS, 1 mans for DH, 1 ladies for DSIL and 1 ladies for me.

Neither BCV or SSR asked for member #'s. Which totally surprised me, I had both DS's card (which by the way I am an associate on their acct) and my card handy but no one asked for either. I did order them on different days.

I wish to restate that while I did purchase the 4 watches. I only made the calls and paid for DH's and mine. The other two were paid for by other DVC owners. None of us wish to resell or horde the watches only wear them. So please don't anyone get upset with me.

Oh and one last thing. If I had not read here on the boards that they were selling the watches I would have waited until our trip next month. All 4 of us are going and would have purchased them at that time.

Thank you for your honesty. I was just wondering what the "new" DVC policy is since it changes daily (or minute by minute ). I don't think anyone would accuse you of doing anything unethical. I hope you didn't think I had.

If DVC's new policy is to let anybody buy the watches - I say this because, as you stated, they didn't require member verification - then it's yet another problem with their confusing "rules". As you can see by previous posts, there is conflicting information coming out of DVC. It appears it all depends on which resort personnel you talk to.

trishy, I know that you weren't implying that I did anything wrong. I know that I just get frustrated by others who buy limited edition items that may not qualify to buy them (passholder or DVC owners) and then turn around and sell them for profit to those who do qualify and can't get them because they are sold out. I just wanted to clarify to the group why I ordered 4.

I have been an "observer" for quite some time before I registered on this fantastic board and then "observed" for a while longer before I posted. I quess that I just didn't want to appear to be doing what I wish others wouldn't do.

I got a call from OKW this afternoon. A friend had put my name on the wait list at OKW for the LE DVC watch. The lady took my shipping information, my credit card information and said my watch would be here in about 10 days. She said that OKW is selling more watches than any other DVC location and that they were moving inventory from other locations over to OKW. She said that everyone that they had contacted had exercised their right to get the watches, no one had changed their minds. There is a limit of 2 male and 2 female watches per person. Also, you do not pay shipping and/or sales tax.

I mentioned to her that there were many DVC folks dieing for the Welcome Home mouse pad. She said that her boss had just been promoted to some high up position in merchandising and that she would definitely pass that along to her. We will see how far that goes, but wouldn't it be nice if something came of it ???

Thanks for the great photos of the watches. I can't wait to get ours. We were also told that there was a limit of two sets per member.

Dan, were you ever able to order? It seems to me it all depends on the CM you talk to. Maybe you should keep checking.

Rats! I keep getting redirected to mail-order services (they don't sell'm) ... How are you guys getting through to someone who cares?

We'll be there in late November.... I hope they hold some back for the "fall", when they said they would be selling them.

And I'm not sure what I like more... the watch or the box!

Can somone post a pic of the watches as I am thinking about getting one for myself and my DW but I want to see them before I drop the cash to do so. I currently have a TAG HEUER with Mickey in it and a GUCCI and would like one of these to go in my collection if they are nice.

Ok just saw the link to the pics on the previous page sorry for the confusion. Who makes these watches and how mch were they? I am thinking of calling for a couple but what to get a few more details on them first.

They are $125.00 each and made by Fossil. There is only 1,000 of each (mens and ladies) made.

Just got mine a SSR giftshop- they are mailing it to me. I was told they have some mens watches, but no more ladies watches.

when I called there just this morning (Monday 8/16), a very nice CM told me that he had called Vero Beach while I was holding & found one there for me. He came back on the line and took all of my info to have Vero send it to me. I'm keeping fingers crossed.

I wonder why with 85,000 members, they would only order 1000 each. Also, I have at BCV last month and did not even think to ask about the watches that were report to be released in the fall.

There was no indication of a list being started or I certainly would have added my name to it in person. Gosh, this could have been handled better. I feel bad for those going in the fall and none left.

I had resigned myself to hope for one to appear on Ebay & was willing to pay whatever it took to get one. None have appeared.

I hope this situation leads to an online ordering catalog or mailed list of items. Certainly there is plenty of demand for DVC items. I hope to have my watch soon. That will really be a magical day!!!

I'm also disappointed in the small amount of watches made, considering how many DVC members there are now!

We are fortunate in that we were able to call down and order one ladies' and one man's watch without being on a list. It took a small amount of persuasion on my dh's part but he was successful. Our watches should arrive this week, and I'm very glad to have gotten them ordered, thanks to all of you here!

From the Walt Disney World website on the resort page, bottom left. That number got me to the resort operator and I just asked to be transfered to the gift shop. They said they had one for me, but it was being shipped from the gift shop at Vero Beach, that was 10am this morning. I doubt that SSR got anymore since then.

I guess it just depends on what CM you talk to. I called BCV about two weeks ago and placed an order for 1 mens/1womens. I had my membership number on hand but was never asked for it. I was told I would have the watches in 3-4 days(I paid extra for express delivery). They gave me a confirmation number and that was it. When my watches didn't arrive by the 5th day I called the store. The CM I spoke to informed me that their was no way I could've ordered the watches from that store and that I must be confused. When I gave her my confirmation number she said she never heard of a confirmation number, so needless to say I was not a happy camper. I called my credit card company and they confirmed that indeed two watches had been charged to my account, so I called back. After talking to several different people including the manager and mail order, they finally tracked down my order. They had put it in the UPS bin instead of the Fed-X bin hence the delay in shipping. My watches came a day later. Mistakes do happen but what was frustrating is that I spent over two hours on the phone trying to convince everyone that I had been able to purchase the watches.

On the bright side the watches are great. It comes in a fun "travel case" and DH and I love them. The aggrevation was worth it.

Hope it works out for everyone. I agree with the previous advice keep calling different resorts until someone will help you or at least knows whats going on.

Called the Vero Beach gift shop at 772-234-2000 and placed my order. She said mine was the 4th watch sold today. She didn't think they'd last much longer. She also told me the 3rd quarter DVC pins just came in. I ordered two of those for my kids. WooHoo!

1:16 p.m. California time. I just called the above # at Vero Beach and ordered my ladies watch!!! Thank you all!!! We're headed to FLA on Friday for two weeks of Disney (Cruise and WDW) and I would have been so bummed to find the watches all gone!!!
