DVC took the jealousy away from others vacations

I'll admit it. I was jealous whenever anyone told me they were going to Disney World or on any cruise.
Well, that hasnt been so since we joined DVC.
I know our cruise is booked and next year we will be back at the Wilderness Lodge.
Anyone else feel this way?

Yes! Now when I hear someone saying they're going to WDW - I smile and think "I own a piece of it"! And I know I'll be back soon.

I guess maybe it depends on how long it's been since my last trip ... or how long it will be 'til we travel again.

I had a co-worker go over week before last, and I found myself several times thinking, "Well, right now she's probably at EPCOT..." or, "I wonder which restaurant she's eating at right now?..."

It didn't help that I had written an ITINERARY for she and her DH - so I knew where they'd be nearly every day!!

Pretty sad... I know...

We have friends leaving for Disney next Friday and I am so jealous even though I know we "own a piece" of the magic! I keep thinking how much I'd like to go with them. We'll be at Hilton Head over Thanksgiving and then a big family trip to Disney next June but I wanna go now (stamping my feet real hard on the floor)!!!!!

It does help that I know I'll be back lots of times over the next 40 years but that green eyed monster is getting the best of me . (Lisa, who hears hubby's voice in the back of her mind saying "get a life!").

For years I had to listen to people saying we went to WDW and my dw would say " I wish we could go". Now she smiles and says "How much did the room cost?" then "Wow we don't pay for a room we own at OKW". I just smile and enjoy the feeling that I get knowing I won't hear "I wish we could.

When I tell people that we own property at Disney, they get this funny look. I then explain what DVC is and what it offers, they insist that only rich people can do that. Well I'm not rich, but the idea of visiting Disney or other worldly places is really great!

I still get jealous! I was there less than 3 months ago and have gone 4 times in the last 7 months. With all the McDonald's commercials showing Disney World, I'm really wanting to go back! I thought the last trip would hold me over for awhile. We'll be going to HH in a month, so hopefully that will help.

I'm REALLY JEALOUS of two kinds of people!!!

1. Those who bought DVC early on and got those free WDW passes!

2. Those who own tons of points (700, 1000, more!!!).

And you don't even want to be near me when I hear about someone with 1,000 points who bought in 1992 (combo jealousy)!!!

I'm learning to live through it, though.

I know how you feel. We just purchased last summer, and I have add-on fever already. I just keep telling myself an old line that I have heard before, "size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it that counts"----DVC contract that is .

Somehow, I still don't believe it.....must be "point envy"

LOL....but I bet some here would say that size does matter!

Ah, how we wanted to join in 1994....we knew it would happen someday. Shoot, we should have done it then....when we were forced to sell it because we couldn't afford it we would have made a profit!

Actually, I know at least one person who goes so often the thought of it exhausts me! (Hi Barb! ) I'm not nearly as jealous as I used to be when others go though. We mostly hear about those "once in a lifetime" trips....so its a totally different perspective for us now. There's always next time!

I feel a little guilty sometimes saying we are off again!!
The other day at work several folks heard me mentioning that we were going to Florida for spring break. They asked where and I said Orlando! They said are you going to visit WDW!!!

I again said Yes! They then said is it your first time!
No and we are scheduled to return in June!
Their mouths drop open!!
