DVC Gold AP.

Someone remind me - what's the best way to do this?

Contact the AP sales division and share your thoughts. They are the ones in charge of the program not DVC.

Hopefully, with capacity raised, that division will decide to start sales again soon!

To be clear, I only care about my DVC-discounted gold pass, I am pretty ambivalent whether non-DVC members get APs. :*)

What’s the best way for us to reach out and put the pressure on? Maybe if we all start calling the same number it would help.

I am a current Gold AP holder and we were going to upgrade my husband's regular ticket to an AP in May 2020, but our trip was cancelled. We used that ticket in December but were told we couldn't upgrade then. My husband is the only one I travel with and we are out of town, always stay at a DVC resort so we never pull from the AP pool of park reservations. Has anyone had luck getting a new Gold AP for an immediate family member in your household that you travel with if you had one previously? It is keeping us from going to Disney more often because he doesn't have an AP.

I haven't heard of anyone being able to. I'm in the same situation. There are 2 in my group that became dvc members in 2020 that can't buy a new pass. I'm a little aggravated over this honestly because there is no way we're paying for 6 day park tickets 3 times in a year. The cost would just be ridiculous. I guess we'll be trying universal for the next year if nothing changes.

While I agree that the ticketing division is the one calling the shots here, I do think that in addition to contacting them we should be letting DVC know how unhappy we are about not being able to purchase AP's. For a lot of DVC owners the ability to purchase the Gold AP plays at least a part in the decision to buy direct vs resale. It also can influence how many points we purchase. I know for us, our initial purchase didn't warrant an AP as we'd only be going once a year or so. But we added on last summer strictly because we assumed (yeah, I know - bad idea) that we'd be able to buy a Gold AP. Without it, we'll either be renting some of our points or spending a lot of time at HHI, VB or Aulani (not the worst idea though 8-) ).

If DVC gets enough push back from it's members or potential members deciding between direct and resale it might encourage them to push a little harder with the ticketing division. I may be way off base, but I don't think the ticketing division gives a rat's as#$ if DVC members are unhappy. But DVC should and they may be able to have more impact internally than we would from the outside.

I'm not saying don't contact ticketing - that's a good idea. I just don't think it hurts to keep putting the pressure on DVC as well.

I agree with this strategy and did just that yesterday by coincidence by sending an email to both general DVC email and Terri Shultz.

To be clear, i have zero expectation of a discounted AP nor to be provided with an exact date on which they’d be available. A simple, “we’re working on it for the fall” or something along those lines would go a long way with easing my anxiety. I currently have 15 nights booked for September and had to pay for regular tickets if I wanted to make park reservations. I also have eight nights booked for February, but don’t want to risk buying regular tickets if I’m going to be able to upgrade to an AP at some point soon. Thus, no park reservations can be made for February. I‘m typically a very patient person, but the silence from DVC leadership is wearing it thin. Yes, I get that they’re not responsible for ticket sales, but they can certainly reach out to their colleagues and provide some sort of a response to members.

The good news is that with the new guidelines, and capacity increasing, hopefully sales will happen sooner rather than later.

But if one wants to contact anyone other than ticketing, then contact DVD and not DVCM as DVD is the one who negotiates the perks with other divisions

So sorry - dumb question and I did a search here but couldn't figure it out - what is DVD and what is DVCM and how (email address, phone #) would you contact one v. the other?

FWIW, I emailed our sales contact who recently sold us our points, and intend to email members@disneyvacationclub as well, once they figure out why they can't print a blue member card for my wife. Happy to send emails elsewhere (Terry Schultz et al), I have faith that companies listen to feedback when it is given in volume.

I emailed Terri recently about purchasing APs. Got a response less than a day later. It was friendly and indicated that with vax going up and cases gong down, they are anxious to begin selling them again but she gave no indication of when that will happen other than if the great momentum continues it will be sooner rather than later.

DVCMC is Disney Vacation Club Management Company. This is who we, as owners, by the way of our condo association, hire to manage the timeshare. They take care of using the membership, hire people to manage the property..in this case Disney...etc.

DVD is Disney Development Division. They are the ones who are in charge of building and selling the timeshares, Your agreement to purchase is between you and DVD, They decide all the terms and conditions of the POS and are the ones who are in charge of adding things like membership perks to the product. They do that by contracting with third parties to offer certain DVC owners discounts, I liken it to how AAA contracts with businesses to offer members discounts.

The AP deal for DVC is a contract between ticketing and DVD. That is why DVD has no control over the suspension.

Thanks - this is actually helps a lot. It tells me, perhaps falsely, that it's worth waiting a little longer to solve my tickets dilemma for November. Any value in more members emailing her for awareness?

Thanks!! So how does one contact one vs. the other? I believe I have Terri Schulz' email among others - but she's DVCM, right?

Yes everyone should email/call/chat. They all need to know this is something we want.

I don’t have any emails for them but your sales guide may have contact information for those at DVD.

As I said, I am confident that the ticketing division wants AP sales to open sooner rather than later because there are many guests who want them...DVC owners is a small part of it all. Plenty of FL and cash guests in the same boat!

I now think we will see them in the next few months when I once thought not until 2022!

There's some speculation that they might become available again August 16th. This was because of the recent announcement about Magic Bands no longer being free with new Annual Passes starting August 16th. So that could possibly be a sign that this is when Annual Passes will go on sale again! I previously haven't really thought I'd ever be a passholder. I am a white card member and have to travel internationally, so two trips in a year seems more or less impossible! But with the backlog in points and addonitis, I might actually consider this for next year if we can make a trip work for Dec 2021 and May 2022!

Yeah, I saw that post on *other site* and had a burst of excitement this morning. Unfortunately I'm (we're?) all in a race to lock down park reservations for our upcoming trips. If I have to wait until August to buy an AP for a November trip, will I lose days at the parks I want? With my luck, APs will go on sales the day after I give in and buy tickets for days 11-14 of my trip...

I've got a 7 day trip starting August 22, a 2nd trip in November and a 3rd trip in December. If they came back with it August 16th, that would be perrrrrrfect. I'd be so happy I might even buy another contract to celebrate.
