DVC Gold AP.

I think the thing that irks me the most about not selling APs to new members right now is that they continue to offer AP-exclusive merchandise, food, events, etc. They've essentially created a separate 'class of guests' that some folks cannot currently buy into even though they want to. I know they can do what they want, just being honest about what irks me about the whole thing. :)
100% ME TOO! I got super irked today when I saw they were offering a deal on water park tickets for AP members. So not only am I mad that I can’t buy an AP, now I’m also mad I can’t buy a discounted water park ticket either because I don’t have the pass that they are unwilling to sell me! It’s maddening.

yep. I (prior DVC passholder) also emailed that we had intended to buy DVC AP for our trip May 2020 that got canx due to Covid, thinking maybe it was worth a try as we had a canx DVC booking. Got a very nice reply in 4 days saying, "nope."
I sent an email also and was told no. I think I am going to call when I have a few spare hours to spend on hold and see what happens.

If you give it a try, call pass holders and not DVC MS. They have no ability to sell new APs right now. They can only renew.

Even DVC owners who are eligible to get the recovery offer had to go through AP department because being DVC is not what allowed them to get it. It was being a pass holder,

Just don’t want you to spend that long on the line and then find out it’s the wrong place to try! lol

Hello all, I read a bunch of this thread and have a couple questions to make sure I understand. I cancelled a DVC discount Gold AP during the shutdown and got a refund. I'm in the queue for a callback from the AP people. When they call, will I be able to buy a Gold AP with the DVC discount? Or just a full price Gold AP? If it's a DVC discount AP, does anyone know the current price? Thanks!

Who do I call/email for a callback? I’ve been on hold for 3.5 hours. 😭 I have been trying to renew for weeks and can’t get through. This is the first day I haven’t gotten a busy signal!

The Gold pass is actually a special ticketonly available to DVC and FL residents. so you will pay $719 plus tax...$756.74

ETA. It’s 765.74. Typo!

Is that a typo? Should that be $765.74 with tax?

I went to Ticket Center .. the price I paid for a Fl/ DVC discounted Platinum AP was 813.66 including the $49.66 Florida tax rate.... which is No Blockouts and better deal.

1) are you comparing renewal to renewal?

2) It’s only a better deal if you are visiting during blackout periods.

We have a trip planned in Oct and really wanted Gold Annual Pass. If I just buy the regular tickets now, will I have the option upgrading to annual pass if it becomes available?

I really just wanted to wait to see if they offered any discounts for DVC before buying them but getting scared if I don't buy them soon enough, I won't be able to make the park reservation.

If it becomes available before the end of your trip, yes. Once your trip is over and the tickets are no longer valid, no (if past practice is any guide.)

I refuse to buy multi day tickets for our family. I’ve already cancelled three stays due to not being able to buy DVC gold passes. We’ve had annual passes for years. Ours expired in September 2019. We were going to buy new ones for May 2020.

I’ve given up. We just bought annual passes for Universal. We’ve never been and probably wouldn’t have considered going if the DVC passes were available.

The Hulk rollercoaster is terrific. (I just hate their locker requirements - you have to put all your gear in a locker to ride most of the coasters.)

The Harry Potter World sections have theming that is up there with the best of Disney.

They did get a little carried away with the 3D motion rides, though...

Sorry I never updated. I called the AP line last Saturday and after a 2 hour and 8 minute phone call I was able to get our Annual Passes reinstated. As others have stated, the reason I was able to do it was because they were canceled during the pandemic. We have the DVC Platinum Plus due to the time frames we travel, my wife is a teacher and most trips revolve around the holidays. It was a long phone call, but so worth it.

I have another AP question - so I have a new trip booked as of yesterday (WOOT!!) but it's March 2022 - our Gold APs expire like Oct 13, 2021 - I've looked on line to go ahead and make park reservations but it says I can't bc I don't have valid tickets.

Do I have to wait to renew my APs before I can make park reservations? We're going the first part of March when F&G starts and I'd HATE to have to wait until October to get reservations!!

Its stressing me out already!!

:crazy2:

and just to confirm, I can pay for our APs by cashing out my Disney Visa reward dollars ONTO a card and then using that card to pay for the APs, right?

THANKS!
