DVC Gold AP.

I have another AP question - so I have a new trip booked as of yesterday (WOOT!!) but it's March 2022 - our Gold APs expire like Oct 13, 2021 - I've looked on line to go ahead and make park reservations but it says I can't bc I don't have valid tickets.

Do I have to wait to renew my APs before I can make park reservations? We're going the first part of March when F&G starts and I'd HATE to have to wait until October to get reservations!!

Its stressing me out already!!

:crazy2:

and just to confirm, I can pay for our APs by cashing out my Disney Visa reward dollars ONTO a card and then using that card to pay for the APs, right?

THANKS!

Ours were to expire this July. We are booked for this October. Called DVC, bought new passes (upgraded to Premium? Platinum?). Was immediately able to book park reservations for October and beyond. Once we arrive in October, guest services will activate our passes giving us a years use from then.

So I can go ahead and call now??!! I know the wait times have been huge lately but I need to try!! Your situation is a little better than mine in you expire in July and I expire in Oct but I'll call and see what they say!!

I know when I go online it says I cannot renew now.....

THANK YOU!!!

Yup, I had a similar case - mine expired in November after all the extensions, but we have a December trip planned. I was able to renew early.

I was bounced around between the AP line and the DVC line (after regrettably listening to the chat CM who told me they could help if I got off hold with DVC and called them) - DVC were ultimately the ones who were able to renew my Gold pass, FYI.

I was told by MS in January when I renewed my gold AP that was due to expire early February that I could renew the mr’s who wasn’t up until late Spring since we had DVC reservations in place for multiple trips later in the year

The Hulk rollercoaster is terrific. (I just hate their locker requirements - you have to put all your gear in a locker to ride most of the coasters.)

Far as i know, 3 prong fanny packs permitted on majority of attractions, excepting hulk & RRR. They are particular about loose items in pockets tho on other rides.

ARGH!!
after being on hold for an hour (exactly!!) I got through to what I think was the VIP Passholder line 407-939-7277 and was hold that NO, Disney is now holding strong and fast to the renew 60 days prior/30 days after the expiration date.

Our passes don't expire until Oct 13th and our trip is March 5th.....

which means I can't renew until Aug 14th - and that's like 6 months prior...the planner in me just wants to book park reservations since it should be the first week of F&G!

Which phone # did you use to call DVC, just the regular one? or a special one since tickets are involved??

THANKS!

Just the regular line! 407-566-3800. I basically stressed that I wanted to get park pass reservations at the same time as my family (regular tix, non-APs) and they said I'd be able to renew early, no problem. So now I have an AP and a renewal certificate in my account. The certificate let me book the park days I needed in December.

OK -so I just finished "chatting" with Damien in MS @ DVC and he said "normally NO you cant renew so early" but if I call MS first thing in the morning (due to wait times) that they can hook me up with an early renewal since I already have a reservation booked that is past my AP expiration date!!

WOOT!

To close the loop on my own question - I called back to MS yesterday afternoon (I waited for almost an hour) and got a lovely agent who knew exactly how to help me and created 2 new Gold AP renewals even though ours currently don't expire until Oct 13, 2021 and within a few moments I had 2 new renewal certificates in my MDE account!

I then went ahead and bought tickets for my cousin and then booked park reservations for ALL of us!

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!

:love: :thumbsup2:cool1::cool1:

You should be able to call now and renew early since you have a resort reservation.

Another data point. We were able to get AP Gold renewal vouchers for our passes that expire in September. We went to the ticket office in DS and completed it in about 10 minutes. Now we can make park reservations for our 2022 trip.

Please help explain renewal certificate...I got my AP's back into my account.

If you paid something over $700 each, you have a new AP voucher. When you next go to the parks, you’ll activate it and your AP will be good for one year from the day you first use it. We just renewed our APs and the vouchers are in our account. I’m assuming they will activate when our current APs expire in September. What both allow you to do is to make park reservations for future resort trips.

I wanted to open this thread back up because we just renewed early and now have the certificates linked in our MDE accounts.

So we are going Dec 18-Jan 1 and current APs expire on Dec. 26. Does this mean on Dec 27 we will need to go to Guest Services at the park BEFORE we can get into the park so they can activate it? Or can we have them activate them earlier so that they will automatically start working on Dec 27?

Thanks.

They can activate them early. We renewed ours at the DS Ticket Center 10 days before they expired, got our new cards, and the changeover was seamless. In MDE the expiration date simply changed from 2021 to the same date in 2022.

Same with me. Renewed in January at GS and it was a seamless in March when the new one kicked in.

Thank you. My assumption is you probably have to be within your 60 day renewal window before they can do it? We’ll be there over the summer but our renewal window isn’t until late October.

We just got our renewal voucher’s at DS in April and our APs expire in September. They’re allowing early renewals so you can make park reservations for a future resort stay.

We have the vouchers. Question was more of when can we actually have them redeem the vouchers — my assumption is it has to be within 60 days of expiration date (the actual renewal period).

Any one have information on when we might be able to buy a new, first time Gold Annual Pass? I’m a blue card owner and have been hoping to buy an annual pass for awhile. TIA
