Any DVC members get an email about participating in the testing of Fastpass+? Seems that a lot of people got the invite, but haven't heard of any DVC members yet!
We will be in WDW Dec 9-13 using our DVC...wonder if we will get to participate..??

DVC member here :) We will be at WDW Sept 14-23 and we also have not been asked to participate in the testing. I heard that those who have been asked have booked packages and are using ME. We DVC members always seem to be left out :worried:

DVC members are not being left out, some members have posted on the Theme Park forum they were invited.

We have to remember that just because it is not shared here or even on the DIS in general, does not meant it did not happen. ;)

I must have missed those posts! Didn't see any DVC members posting there. Glad we are not excluded :) I'm a Disney Travel Specialist and when the email came out about Fastpass+ last week, it only mentioned that the clients must be using ME, but didn't say anything about booking a package. I'm crossing my fingers for our next trip :) We just got some pixie dust today with a special preview of Enchanted Tales with Belle! Hoping for more in December :)

We received one but we are arriving Sept. 11 and it was for our last night reservation which is Sept 18. We had to split up our reservation because we had holding points to use and we are changing resorts due to availability. I have to call on Monday to see if we can pick up our fast pass at WDW since we are leaving Tuesday and it will not arrive in the mail before we leave.

i did see DVC members posted in the theme park forum. i was lurking over there. one time we came back for fp returns but were turned away as rides were shut down for technical difficulties. they said the passes would be good for the entire day as they were aware of the problems, so curious what will happen now.

DVC and CRO reservations are in different data bases. My guess is that Disney Parks uses the Disney CRO data to select special offers, discounts, and test families.

I received an e-mail asking me to participate in an invitation-only test of the new fastpass + system. The test is for the Magic Kingdom from 9/18 to 9/24 only. I will be on the DVC member cruise from 9/16 to 9/20 and staying at BCV after the cruise until the 23rd.
I could not log on at first so I called the number in the e-mail and the cast member said the system was extremely busy and to try back in a few hours. To make a long story short I got into the system the following day. I did get four fastpasses but my choices were limited. You get to choose 2 rides, or special viewing areas of parades or fireworks from two different columns for a total of 4 fastpasses. You also choose the day you will be in the Park. There are also options on the times of the fastpass. Once you do all that they send you the fastpasses in the mail. pixiedust:

I have seen a bunch of DVC owners get an invite to test the new fastpass+ system....on a different DVC forum. :duck:

I had the exact same experience. I am on the member cruise and then heading to BCV for a few days. I called to see if I could add grandparents - they live in Florida so are not part of my reservation - and was told the testing is strictly through ME reservation lists and no changes can be made. I also asked if a pass could be given to someone else so maybe grandpa could ride with DD but was told "No - passes are linked to names". Hoping we can get regular fastpasses to match the fastpass (+) so we can all ride together :)

We are DVC members who are traveling with family/friends also using our DVC points (4 BWV rooms) and we have all received fast pass + iinvitaitions. I've been told the list of participants was pulled from Magical Express reservations.

Good to know! Thanks for posting Norm1 and Danen. Had been following the FP+ thread on Attractions and Strategies but hadn't seen any DVCers over there.

Hmm ... so if they're being pulled from the ME reservations ... if we're planning a split stay (over 2 weeks, 3 days apart since we have a DCL reservation in the middle), should we perhaps make an ME reservation for both parts of the reservation in order to increase the chances of getting an invitation if they announce another upcoming FP+ test ... ? Or will that gum up the system having an ME reservation that someone would not be using? :scratchin

I think for a test that short, they have probably selected all the participants by now.

Oh, I'm not going for another 2 1/2 months. Just wishful thinking that they might have another test on my dates in early December ... :rolleyes1

I am a dvc member staying on my points on the 23 and I got an invite. They say tthey picked me from my magic express reservation. I got a postcard mailed to me saying I was invited.

Its not the easiest system to use since by default they schedule all your 4 fastpasses in sequence and do not tell you that after you select 1 of the 4 options then you go back and edit the times individually. This is important if you want a whishes fastpass+ at night but the other 3 fastpass+ in the morning for park opening.

DVC member here, staying on points starting 9/20. Received no emails or calls, but today I got a fedex letter with FP+ tickets! Woohoo!

The tickets do say, 'As a Guest using Disney's Magical Express, you have been selected to take part in a complimentary limited-time test!'

What a great week this is! Premium AP discount and now we get to test FP+.

I am a DVC member staying on points from 9/22-10/3 using ME. I was asked to participate in this and will be doing so 9/23. I will say I do not like this one bit. They are now asking me to plan a whole day. No spontaneity what so ever. I feel that next they are going to ask when I want to go to the restroom. I was already not a fan of the FP system now I really do not like it. I am still doing the test so I can offer the feedback of not liking this at all. Way to much planing.

The new system isn't going to be favored by everyone. I expect that there will be many that in the future will be scheduling their rides from home 180 days out just like they do their ADR's.

That's not a vacation to us, we actually love to sleep in. :goodvibes
