I decided not to join DVC last summer as my job sent me to the far side of the world. I now find that DLP is within reach. Can DVC points be used for hotels at DLP? Any info on use of DVC points or info in general for DLP would be helpful. Looking at a Sept 2005 trip.

Yes you can use points for DL Paris. We have used them a couple of times. The points are quite a bit more than using them on DVC properties. They have gone up a lot in the last few years.

Peak season in the SL woul dbe 53 points a night for a regular room. That includes passes and breakfast. Last year we only use 40 points a night! The Disneyland hotel is 91 points in peak season.

Value season only runs from jan9 to feb 3 and is 39 points for SL (S-Th) and 53pts (F-S).

You would need a lot of points and it would be cheaper to pay for the hotel room than use points.

LOL - That was the tag fairy a while a go, when the countdowns had a temporary problem. Since then the count downs have gone and I will have to use the other methods mentioned. I don't want to remove it as the tag fairy gave it to me :earsgirl:

Gotcha - I guess I didn't realize you could be tagged by the tag fairy. ;)

Thank you for the info. I'm trying to justify to myself the purchase with a job that keeps me away from the US for long stretches. With two little ones (6 and 3) I figure on going to Disney for at least another 10-15 years. DLP sounds very nice, any thoughts on crowds/weather in July? We've only braved WDW in off seasons. I get cranky in wall to wall crowds.

We have been twice in August, which is classed as high season. We found that the park was fine until about 11 am and then it got busy. We did all the popular rides before 11 and the others after 11. About 3pm we would walk over to the studios which had less crowds. You can then go back for the evening fireworks once the studios are shut. It is managable with planning and I never found it as crowded as some of the days at the MK in orlando. Have you thought of Marriott time share? They have one next to DL, we toured in one time and it looks like a really nice complex. They also provide shuttles to the parks.

Thank you for the info. Now if someone can help with with getting a non 800 number to call DVC. We've decided we'd like to join but cannot call 800 numbers from here in Kazakhstan. (don't get me started on Soviet made phone systems). I can call any local area code with an AT&T calling card but not their 800 number. DVC has me going around in circles, first i had to convince them I'm an American serving overseas with legal US residence, then they keep giving me the 800 number to call. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
