Drunk People at Epcot

Jeesh. That must cost a fortune at those prices!!

Got to agree completely. I used to go get sloshed at the bars on a Saturday night (not at Disney- before you guys flame me)....but I had to give that up b/c it was costing me a fortune. Now I can sit home with my 12 pack on a Sunday and relaaaax at a far cheaper cost. :rolleyes1

I have seen this during one of my trips. There was a group that was there celebrating a couple that was going to be getting married soon. They were drinking around the world and singing very loudly. There were some CM's talking to them, trying to get them to quiet down I believe.

The story about the Viking guy reminds me of a drunk I saw sitting outside of the restrooms at Halloween Horror Nights (Universal). He was sitting there describing everyone going in and out, i.e. "Women with blue shirt and brown hair, guy in shorts with glasses..." etc. Sort of reminded me of the "Makin' Copies" guy from Saturday Night Live. Weird but relatively harmless, so everyone just ignored him.

We were there two years ago for the Food and Wine Festival and saw several drunk people as well. It really kind of spoiled the mood for me, that day. It just is really awkward to have to explain that type of behavior to my children, and frankly, I go to Disneyworld so I don't have to.

CanadianGuy fixed the double-posts by merging the two threads.

Now, back to your regularly-scheduled DISboard thread.

;)

We were at F&W last October, and a girl (I would be REALLY surprised if she was even 21) was on a bench, could barely hold her head up, turned around and started puking all over the walkway!! REPEATEDLY!!! It was gross!!

This has become very common. Walt Disney would not be proud.

You are so right, that's why he didn't allow this in the parks. It's for families to enjoy not a Frat House Reunion. I wished it wasn't allowed at all in any park.

We were at the World Showcase last Sat. as well. We did not notice anything like this. We were there most of the night. But, I guess whenever you have large crowds and alcohol, things like this could happen. We like to have a few drinks ourselves, especially at the WS. But, we are not obnoxious when we are drinking. Some people however, unfortunately are. We just like to have a good time. I would hope that if people get really really out of hand, and are causing problems for other guests, that Disney could have them leave the park. But, I do not know what happens in that case.

I've merged these two accidental double posts into one thread.

It is sad that people take it to such an extreme. My husband enjoys to taste different beers in the different countries, but never more than a couple because as many have mentioned it is just too darn expensive. I can say I have only encountered a loud and obnoxious group once in all my times at Disney and that was a few years back at Rose and Crown. There was a group there for a bacholerette party and they were really rowdy and annoying. You could tell it was going to be a long night for them and anyone around them. We watched which way they went when the exited and made sure to go the opposite way!

Everyone keeps talking about Grey Goose slushies. (This post and others I've read) Where do you get them at? And I'm with everyone else. One drink is all I can afford!

I was at Epcot last Memorial Day weekend. There were tons of younger drunks, sloppy and noisy. I was pretty sure they were locals. I was put off by the whole thing. I go to the Disney parks to avoid that type of behavior. My 11 year old neice still talks about all the drunks we saw. A really great family memory! The whirring sound you hear is Walt spinning in his grave.

It's not Sesame Place. It's for everybody. Even so, getting stinking drunk ANYWHERE public (or in private, but at least there nobody else has to watch the train wreck) isn't advisable.

They are at a stand on the waterside of the walkway near France...

Grey Goose Slushies and Grand Marnier Slushies.

In moderation.. both are very good.

I don't think so. I'm sure Walt used to throw back some liquor in his day. Remember, he wanted a place for adults to have fun too!

That being said, I once saw someone stop in front of the fountain closest to the entrance, sit on the side, vomit, and get up and keep going! He was on his way OUT of the park so I was pretty sure Epcot got the best of him! And so did that fountain.
