Drew's Wish Comes True...

You are very welcome. I so glad that you (and most of all, the kids!) like them... I can't wait until we get to take a trip to Disney so I can make them for my kiddos, but my 6 year old daughter has made it clear that she want a Jack Skellington one, period, no princesses, lol. Silly girl!

Thanks for sharing all of the great pics of your family and the BIG GIVE packages... we love seeing the kids faces when they open them!

That is just too funny. I can't believe how popular Jack Skellington is among the kids. My kids have only seen the movie at Gramma's. I've never seen it

Is running out. I can't believe we leave in FOUR days. How on earth did it get so close?

Guess I better get the suitcases out and make a list of stuff to bring. We have a Christmas Party to attend tonight. I need to have everything ready to go by Monday night.

Tuesday we have appts at Children's to get Drew's implant and med levels checked before we go. I need to get his meds refilled too.

It's getting closer! :goodvibes Wow time to start packing.

Are you getting too excited to sleep?:dance3:

I hope everything checks out okay at the Doctor's office:thumbsup2

DeAnna, thanks so much for posting all of the fabulous pictures of your beautiful kids - they look so happy and that makes all of us happy. You are going to have such a magical trip!

Thanks :) I'm almost done packing. Waiting on the dryer. Shuttle will be here in 4 hrs. Everything went GREAT at the doctors. It's so nice to leave with a smile on our faces. It helps that we have the best doctor ever :)

TWO DAYS!! How are you doing?????
It's been absolutely CRAZY!! My keys were missing for a day, stranding us without a vehicle. Finally they were found (after many prayers and much stress) and we have SNOW!! It never snows in WA. It's just crazy. The ice is horrible. It's supposed to get worse in the next few days. Who knows what we'll be coming home to. I'll miss the pretty snow but can't wait for some sunshine

Thanks :) Be ready for picture overload :)

...to bed LOL

I've been up all night getting things done. Enjoying the quiet to think and reflect. To plan and relax.

Thank you all for helping us on our journey. From friendships, to advice, to support, to understanding, to AMAZING outfits. Our trip is going to be that much more magical because of you. I am so thankful for you all.

Four hours until the Shuttle will be here.

Orlando, here we come

After a few hours of rest it was time to get ready for our Shuttle pick up. Our Granter had called to let us know that he was snowed in and would not be able to meet us at the airport. With the snow we had gotten we were glad we had opted for the shuttle.

The shuttle was late picking us up. The kids were out front playing in the snow waiting. That poor man was bombarded when he finally got here. We got loaded up and off we went. The roads were so slick. I was surprised when we found out he was picking up 2 more people. He had to put one person's luggage up front. We only had 8 bags, 7 carry-ons and the stroller for the 7 of us. I can't imagine what it would have been like had we had more.

We were late getting to the airport but thankfully got checked in and through security just fine. There weren't any problems with Drew by-passing the metal detector. They looked at his medical card and let him walk right through(which he thought was pretty cool).

We got to the gate and waited and waited.

So many flights were delayed. Finally we were called to pre-board. They made us board in shifts which I thought was odd, but it worked out. We were and hour late leaving.

Ryan was so funny when the plane took off. "It's a Rocket!!........BLAST OFF!!"
It was a nice smooth flight.
DSCN9949.jpg

They didn't announce Drew was on a MAW trip but he didn't mind. There were 3 kids traveling alone. One of them was something else. He kept picking fights with the other two. It was a full flight so they couldn't move him. Just before we landed in Chicago he punched the little boy sitting next to him square in the face. I couldn't believe it. The flight attendant yelled at him and held him back to talk with the parent meeting him.

Finally all that was taken care of, seats were switched, the plane was de-iced and we were on our way to FL. The kids thought the de-icer was rain LOL

About an hour into the flight Madilynn tells us "I'm ready to launch back now" LOL Thankfully we had some of our "Big Give Blessings" to occupy the time. Yes, Meagan is making another one of her famous spastic "Mom's taking more pictures" faces.

And finally we touched down.

We got off the plane and dropped all the bags in a pile for Steve to watch while we made a quick run to the bathroom. We looked and looked for a greeter. Finally mom & Brittany headed off in the direction of the Magical Express and we hoped we were headed in the right direction to baggage claim. It's now after midnight and I'm ready to be done.

As we walked clear down to claim our bags we finally saw this :yay:
DSCN9957.jpg

Tears came to my eyes seeing "Grampa" Bob (as he referred to himself) holding Drew's sign. Grampa Bob talked with all the kids and joked with them while Steve & Zander got the bags. As Zander brought them over Grampa Bob got them all on the cart - all 8 bags on ONE cart. I should have taken a picture of that!

We finally get our van and load everything in and get very detailed directions from Grampa Bob on how to get to GKTW. Finally at 1:10 AM we see.........
DSCN9958.jpg

We were enthusiastically greeted and checked in. The kids were so glad to be out of the airport and van.

DSCN9960.jpg

We loaded back into the van and headed to our villa. 119 would be our home for the next week.
DSCN9962b.jpg

As I walked through the front door a sense of peace came over me. It's been a very long time since I've felt that much peace. I could feel what a special place we were in.

Drew opened our Welcome Bag.
DSCN9964.jpg

Thankfully Sub Sandwiches were provided as all the restaurants we passed were closed and we were a hungry bunch.

Drew just HAD to check out the jacuzzi.
DSCN9974.jpg

Jammies were put on.
DSCN9970.jpg

Pills were taken

And finally at 2:30 am everyone was tucked in bed.

you started!!!

woo hoo!!!

First of all...what a long, long day!! I can't believe you guys did not get there till 1 AM...but I am so thankful you got there with all of the weather!! The food they left for you...what a great thought!

And I am so happy to see they still have a greeter that late!

That child punching the other child on the plane...oh my gosh!

Wow...

Picture of Drew checking out the jacuzzi...:rotfl:

I can't wait to see more!

Great start!

What a great start!

I can't imagine how tired you all were by the time you got to GKTW. I'm glad you made it there safely with all the bad weather.

Love the jacuzzi pic! :rotfl2:

Grampa Bob looks so sweet!

I love the picture of my little birthday buddy sleeping!

I am loving it already! I love the blanket sleeper pj's! They are my most favorite! (don't tell anyone but I contemplated trying on a pair for me this year!)

I can't believe how late it was when you arrived, but the west coast / east coast thing is so hard!

I can't wait for more! We were there a couple of days that you were (at disney) and I looked around in hopes of seeing you'll!

Plans have changed. Instead of going out with Steve to celebrate our anniversary I'm sitting here cuddling with Madilynn and watching Enchanted. She's such a funny girl.

Me: I love you my princess girl
M: I love YOU my princess mom
M: MOMMA!! You are the Queen and I AM the princess

LOL

She's dying for me to share her surprise for "Mrs Heather" Hopefully I can get it to work

It was such a LONG day. Really that is the only complaint I have of the whole trip. It's hard going literally across country but we spent two whole days of our trip in an airport or on a plane :(
That child punching the other child on the plane...oh my gosh!

Wow...
Oh I know. I would have been mortified if that was my child.

Great start!

Isn't he a hoot!! He loved that tub. Usually he has to take only showers because of his seizures. It was double heaven for him.

Thanks Maroo :)
