Dream Cat 9A cabins

Booked 7504 for my college age kids because was slightly cheaper than inside. DS is almost 6'5". Getting nervous about this room.

We currently don't have a ressie for the Dream or Fantasy but I would definitely book one of these rooms if the price is right. They look pretty cool :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the photo's and info on room 8504. We have it booked for a January 2012 cruise and I was a little concerned about it, not anymore!! It looks like a wonderful room with lots of extra floor space!! Can't wait!! Thanks again for everyone's post.

I have one booked for the Fantasy in 2012 (a corner room, but not one that is pictured) and I like it!

Better late than never! Stateroom 7000 Disney Dream.

Ok, now I'm a bit concerned about this whole forward facing stateroom thing. Hubby and I are currently booked in 8002, but seeing how dramatic the wall slant is I'm thinking we should switch. Hubby is 6'8" and I'm 6'3" so I'm concerned that we won't even be able to get close to our porthole without ducking. :confused3

I would like to merge all the Cat 9 forward cabin threads (there are at least 3) into one thread that would have all the pics of these rooms....I think it would be easier for people interested in forward Cat 9 to have things in one place to make decisions. I would rename the thread something like Dream Cat 9A forward cabins.

I actually could also add any threads with pics of the aft Cat 9 handicapped cabins (but I have not seen any).

I merged 3 threads...all with pics of the different Cat 9A rooms into this thread. I am going to rename it.

You would definitely have to duck! Just to give you a little perspective of the height of the walls - We were in 7002 & I could stand perfectly in the slanted window to look out - I'm 5'3". The rest of the room wasn't compromised on height, but my husband (6'1") bumped his head a couple of times after looking out the window :headache:

A little more perspective (room 8002) I'm 6' and needed to duck to get into the porthole, and then lean just a bit to stay there. I could kneel on the coffee table in the window with no problem.

We are still GTY Cat 9A for May 12. Can't wait to find out which room we get, but I guess no news is good news.

Well, just called and attempted to change cabins, unfortunately all the rooms in our Category (and attainable surrounding categories) are booked up.

We actually called twice, the first time the woman who answered was very abrupt, and did not offer help beyond saying that we could still cancel (:confused3). I even asked if upgrading was an option, as we have the cruise paid off now and know we can afford a bit more than we were planning when we booked last year. No help.

So we called back again and this time got a SUPER helpful CM named Anya! She tried everything, and was on the phone with us for nearly an hour checking to see if there were any cabins that could be switched (I assume with someone who was not guaranteed a particular cabin). When that didn't work she checked every category for the same thing.

It didn't work out this time, so we'll keep calling as the cruise gets closer, but shout out to Anya for being a model CM and doing everything she could!

On a side note, Anya was able to tell us that for cruisers over six feet tall, they can add bed extenders! Cheers to that as in the past I've slept on the sofa and let hubby sleep diagonally on the bed! :yay:

Just got our GTY assignment and we are in 9A 6006. Does anyone have pics or information on 6006?

It looks like there is deck area outside the deck 6 windows. Is that crew area outside of the windows!?

Help! Any info is appreciated.

On our trip we only saw a crew member on that deck to raise a pennant on the staff. But he was far forward; at the bow of the ship. I never saw anyone on that deck go near the staterooms although I suppose that they might approach the staterooms while in-port to do cleaning, painting, etc.

Thanks, I was all worried about it. Plus, since 6006 is a handicapped room - no tub. So, now I'm concerned about that.

Does anyone have pics of 6008? We're booked for end of May & I am concerned for 6'2 DH. We've had the stateroom # for a while & I can't image that it would be a handicap room. We have 2 young children & I don't think they would issue that # and use the handicap room as early as we've had that #. Thanks.
